Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

A sweet, smooth, earthy flavor. I use this with the rooibos and chamomile to brew an herbal, non-caffeinated, kombucha. It works very well!

This sister plant of rooibos brews up a darker red, nearly opaque, drink that adds a touch of woody flourish to rooibos s sweet notes. The juiciness of pure rooibos is gone and the sweetness comes only in the finish. In the initial tastes are touches of smoked wood that seem to make this an excellent morning tea. While I largely prefer rooibos for its sweeter taste and lighter touch, I can definitely see myself drinking this warming tea again.

Very honey, with the complex notes you'd expect from a local honey, which is fun in a tisane. Really good, I need to buy more.

Great tea to blend with rooibos teas. Great for iced tea, too!

Great tasting, along the lines of Rooibos but a bit sweeter. I have read real good things about the health benefits of this tea

I wish I had found out about this one sooner. It's got a really great texture and finish that works well for iced tea.

Reminds me of one of my favorite teas from when I lived in Russia.

Love it! It's like Rooibos but with so much more flavor. Fantastic on its own, but a dollop of honey makes a great thing even better.

I had no idea what to expect from the honeybush tea, but it really is very good. It tastes just like the name suggests. It's very light and just slightly sweet. It almost tastes like a light southern iced tea.

A warm, inviting tea. The flavored versions of this are amazing too (I've loved every single one I've tried).

Since looking to cut back on caffeine, I have tried more green and herbal teas. I tend to tire of rooibos, but the honeybush is that much more full bodied and satisfying. I think I have a new favorite herbal.

I liked this alot. Very flavorful. It was both fruity and honey-like flavor. Just a touch of sugar and it was great. Ordering more now.

A great anti-inflammatory alternative to roobios. If you like the mild taste of roobios, you will like this one

After I read that people recommended honeybush for a little sweeter, milder flavor of rooibos, I thought I'd try it, too. It has a sweet smell and an enjoyable flavor.

My husband loves this tea! He was not a tea drinker until we found this tea.

Makes a great tea mix when combined with Lemongrass tea

Sweet and pleasant - a lot gentler than Rooibos, but less distinct. I think I prefer the latter, but your mileage may very - both are worth trying. This is also a tea I preferred iced rather than hot (though I learned that it's way too mild when cold-brewed - better to make it hot and then put it in the fridge to cool).

I was looking for caffeine free options and I usually go for a sweet tea so I tried Honeybush. The taste is ok, it s just not a substantial tea.

great kind of tea, similar to red rooibos but with slightly more, sweeter flavor.

Wow! I've always passively enjoyed rooibos, and so had expected this one to be about the same... but it turns out that I like honeybush quite a bit more than rooibos! It's got a lovely herbal flavor to it, and the sweetness is less like sugar or honey and much more 'dark' and subtle, like raisins or dates. (If you've ever had hackberries, it's kind of like that!)

i've always loved rooibos teas; never had honeybush before, but now i'm addicted.

A nice tea to drink late at night, when you want something sweet, but not heavy in caffeine.

I much prefer this to regular rooibos tea. It has a more toasted, less anise-y flavor. I was looking for a caffeine-free substitute for black tea and this is as close as I've found!

I love rooibos tea and this one was amazing! Great flavor

Honeybush Tea - This gets 5 stars from me!! This is my new favorite tea. It’s everything smooth and rich and flavorful about black tea without any of the astringency/bitterness. I add stevia to sweeten and this is the most pleasant cup of tea I’ve had in a long time. It has a caramel-like flavor and smoothness that I seek in a cup of dessert tea with a splash of milk….but you don’t have to add any milk to Honeybush. I can’t say enough about how nice this tea is!!

Surprisingly sweet and very enjoyable. Very refreshing and a relaxing cup of tea.

★★★★★

I love this tea! I'm usually not a fan of herbal, but this has changed my mind.

★★★★☆

Tastes like a tea should objectively taste. I don't really know what that means, but when I want a tea that just tastes like really good tea, this is the one I go for. Very small pieces, though, so make sure to use a fine strainer.

★★★★★

Top of the line right here. My favorite tea by far. No need to worry about over steeping. Great 'woodsy' flavor.

I really enjoy this variety. The tastes and flavors are subtle and not overpowering.

★★★★☆

I ordered a sample of the honeybush to try it and will be ordering more. I prefer this to the rooibos.

★★☆☆☆

This has a bitterness to it that I don't care for.

This tea had a slightly grassy/earthy flavor similar to rooibos but was a bit sweater and I think I like it better.

Great alternative to decaf tea. Can be made strong enough to satisfy us coffee freaks, flavor-wise, without becoming bitter.
Also does well in a Keurig.

★★★☆☆

Just a solid honeybush, nothing special about it. Solid, but not interesting tasting.

This is a little less potent than the rooibos, but wonderful. I find that if I mix it with the rooibos I need less sweetener. A little more 'woody' (might be more the smell). Truly enjoyed it, you must try it if you like rooibos. UPDATE -- still awesome!

Similar to rooibos, but an even sweeter, lighter flavor. I think I prefer it over rooibos, to be honest. Very fine, so make sure your strainer is as well.

★★☆☆☆

The honeybush is sort of rubbery-tasting. I prefer the Oolong and Black teas from Adagio, I haven't enjoyed their honeybush.

★★★★☆

Kind of smells like dirt, like Maté, but it has a nice earthy favour.

I'm not really one for herbal tea, but I thought this would be different. Followed directions, but it ended up tasteless. Might just be my palate.

This tea is one of my favorite teas thus far. I just started drinking tea a few months ago but I have tried many different types so far.

A sweet sister to Rooibos. A nice change of pace but I think I still like the Rooibos better.

Comfort tea, especially at the end of a long work day.
Flavor is robust, I do not use any sweetener with it.
Worth the investment.

★★★★☆

It's a naturally sweet and subtle flavor that can pair nicely when mixed with other teas. I like to add it to my morning mix of teas just for a little sweetness.

First time I had tried honeybush and it is delicious. Fast shipping.
