Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

I was not sure what to expect of this, especially because I am not a big fan of Rooibos teas, so was unsure about a Rooibos cousin... but, I found this earthy and hearty, yet balanced and quite enjoyable ... I am always looking for a caffeine-free tea that is not too fruity, and this definitely fits the bill. I went from a sample to having an entire pound on hand for my afternoon tea!

I’ve never had honeybush on its own and I love all the flavored ones so I had to try it on it’s own. It has a wonderfully toasted sweet honey flavor, so mellow and comforting. Now I know why so many blenders use this in their blends. It goes so well with so many flavors and lends a touch of sweetness. I love that it’s caffeine free. I can’t wait to experiment with my own honeybush blends. @adagioteas

This was the first time I have every tried honey bush tea. I loved it! It is sweeter than rooibos and slight hints of honey. I'll be getting this tea again!

I was surprised how much I love this one! A touch of naturally sweet with a nice, round flavor.

Very tasty. Name is apt as it does have a sweet finish, I usually use a touch of honey in most teas, but this does not need it.

Oh, how I can go on about this tea! Though I tend to stay away from low to no caffeine teas, this is a drink I am willing to make an exception for. The tea is so smooth with its sweet yet memorable flavor, with an almost sour flavor to really finish things off. Though this tea has plenty of sweetness without any additives, a little bit of sugar perfectly ties all the flavors together in a neat little cup. This is certainly a tea you will not want to miss.

Kind of has a bit of roiboos bitterness for me, but is also sweet on top of that. I bought this to try out, even though I know I’m not into sweet teas

The honey bush is a sweeter-tasting alternative to the rooibos and is actually better to us.

It has a sweet yet slightly medicinal flavor. I think it'd be good on a sick day.

I tired first time ever a Honeybush tea from Adagio. It makes a perfect cup with equal mix of Rooibos or Rooibos Vanilla tea.

Not bad! This stuff is like rooibos, but a bit lighter, sweeter, and more floral. It doesn't have that medicinal taste that some people don't like in rooibos either. Not sure I'd drink it again on its own, but I'm glad to have tried it and I'll definitely check out honeybush blends in the future.

Use this to mix with some teas that were too sweet for my preference.

Better than rooibos IMO. Good straight or with a touch of sweetener. Drastically changes flavor profile with & w/o sweetener.

★★★★★

Quite good. Simple unflavored and naturally sweet honeybush. Will be fun to experiment using this as a blend base.

Relative to regular Rooibos, it s a bit sweeter, really a bit like honey. Pretty nice as well.

Classic honey bush is always a classic. Great at night because there is no caffeine, it’s very high in antioxidants (other than what you’d get in a green or white tea) and earthy.

I really like honeybush and I find that it is a nice edition to afternoon and evening tea when i can't have caffeine. It's comforting and tastes good. Give it a try. It's also fun to have on hand to use as ingredients in mixing your own blends at home.

When I was growing up in South Africa, honeybush was only available at a few farm stands and such, and the quality was uneven. Adagio's Honeybush is consistent of high quality in its texture, freshness, and taste. I occasionally enjoy its smoky sweet taste on its own, but I particularly like to mix it with its sibling rooibos in a about a 25% honeybush / 75% rooibos blend. Try it sometime, hot or cold!

This is a wonderful and versatile tea. On its own, it has a refreshing, sweet taste like honey. But it also lends very well as an additive to other blends.

Love the sweet flavor of the honeybush. It pairs well with other flavors. I like to use it to make my own homemade caffeine-free chai blends. Delicious!

★★★★☆

Very comparable to a rooibos. Quite enjoyable with honey and cream.

★★★★★

Without any sweetener added this tea is delicious! Naturally just a touch sweet, and a refreshing change from black tea. Hot or cold, great flavor

★★★★★

I don’t reach for this all the time, but I like having it on hand. It tastes nice on its own, although it’s mild. Adding a bit of cream and sweetener brings out its honey flavor (tastes like honey has been added even though I use allulose.) I got a bag to use as a base for other flavors. I have a large stock of herbal infusions from the grocery store that my enthusiasm has waned for; I’m enjoying using this honeybush as a base to give them some oomph and am enjoying again. Some flavor combos I recommend with honeybush are ginger/maple and chicory/vanilla

Reminds me of Ephedra, which I picked and brewed as a kid camping with my family in the West every summer. It reminds me of berries, raspberries in particular. Quite lovely and more complex than rooibos.

I was surprised by how smoky this tea was, but I like it! There is a sweet undertone from the honey that gives it a nice balance.

Is great added to other teas as a sort of sweetener substitute! Like, if i dont want the extra sugar or honey in my tea ill just add a bit of honeybush!

★★★☆☆

this tea has a very delicate taste, but the smell is slightly offputting

First trying a honey bush by itself and I must say I like the taste. Very smooth and refreshing. Looking forward to the other flavors as well.

Typical honeybush. Great flavor. I use this to mix with cbd

★★★★★

I have enjoyed rooibos for a long time. Add a little milk and sugar and it makes a delicious caffeine-free black tea substitute. Honeybush has the same qualities that I enjoy in red rooibos, and I hope to enjoy it for many more years.

Yum! I had not heard of Honeybush before I got the sample in the communiTEA packets for this week, but instantly knew I d be back for more after trying it!

★★★☆☆

I’m not a fan of red rooibos. I do find honeybush a little more palatable. I’d rather stick with my black teas.

★★★★☆

Love honeybush! Decaf sweet. Comforting. I add stevia and vanilla almond milk.

★★★★★

Honeybush is such a great tea. I tend to steep it longer and multiple times to really get the honey and woodsy notes to come out of it. It's my favorite group of teas to use in blends.

Part of the November 2020 CommuniTEA box. This is the first time I’ve tried an ordinary honeybush- very mellow and sweet!
