Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

I liked this tea although many did not. I enjoy a warm tea late at night so this is great because it is without caffeine. It was a pleasant flavour without an aftertaste. I added a little honey and thought it tasted great.

This was a more pleasant cup of plain tea than I was expecting. I know that honeybush is a prime base for blending different flavors, but on its own it is a no fuss, slightly sweet sip which I can appreciate.

Not bad on its own, has a sweet sort of honey flavor.

Honeybush is similar to a red rooibos (without the woody, wet cardboard taste), but has a sweeter flavor. To me, it is great in blends but is meh on its own. I wouldn't turn down a cup, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Nice flavor. Mildly sweet. This is must like the Rooibos tea, but doesn’t leave my mouth with a dry feeling.

A simple tea that works well with milk. Easy to make and won't keep you up night Good a as a morning tea too.

My go to tea for any occasion (another is Rooibos). Hot or iced cold, it is a joy to have after or during meals.

★★★★★

Without a doubt, my daughter's favorite tea. She takes a thermos of this with her every day to her college classes as the flavors are perfect to enjoy anytime. She does enjoy this with organic sugar and skim milk, and I enjoy it plain. Either way, a wonderful staple year round. We drink it chilled in the Spring and Summer, and hot in the Fall and Winter.

★★★★★

Like other teas i've purchased, I use this one as a base for my own tea blends! This tea is delicious on it's own with a splash of milk and it's so easy to add in other flavors to enhance the tea as well!

★★★★☆

Something I didn't realize - this is the cousin of rooibos. They taste very similar, but honeybush is sweeter. I'm not a fan of plain rooibos or plain honeybush, though this does sweeten and deepen the flavors of other teas when added. I like adding it to chicoriccino.

★★★★★

A sweet honey-like smell coming from the packet. Once brewed, I had a full body cup with a light roasted, honey-like flavor with woody notes. It's very good by itself, and even better mixed with other flavors.

I really like the earthy but not so bitter taste of honeybush. This is one of my go tos in the afternoon or evening since it's caffeine free!

I great standard tea. I recently started to like herbal teas and this is perfect for a bedtime ritual especially for beginning tea drinkers.

Very nice honeybush. I think I prefer this to rooibos, though I'd be hard-pressed to say exactly why... it's a little smoother and sweeter, I think?

Picked up a sample bag of Honeybush and it is now in my regular rotation. I add a touch of sugar. I like this hot and cold.

I love it! It’s sweet but it is its own flavor that I really enjoy. I steeped this one three times and liked them all!

I made the tea for 6 minutes at 90c.

It had an earthy honey taste, and it tasted fine on its own, but I added a little bit of and it became even better!

I will definitely get the flavored versions in the future.

A good honey bush. I prefer the ones with added flavors.

Naturally sweet and simple, really nice at bedtime without anything added. Although this shares some flavor notes with rooibos, it lacks that sort of tobacco-like note that makes me not a big fan of rooibos. A definite re-buy.

Honeybush holds up to its name! Just enough sweetness not to be overpowering and enough woodsy flavor to transport you to the campsite. It also was kind and didn’t upset my stomach.

No caffeine but the flavor is good. it tastes like the twigs of a bush that I would call a honeybush. good with sweetener or fruit

I really like Honeybush with flavors so I was a bit surprised that I wasn’t a big fan by itself. Just didn’t give the same tasty satisfaction. CT 3/7/23.

I love this tea. Besides being decaffeinated it is very soothing for a bedtime tea. Just the right amount of sweetness. A winner in my books!

The flavors that come out in this tea are like walking in a peaceful forest and stumbling upon a bee hive full of honey. Honeybush has a woodsy aroma and flavor with a very slight honey-like finish. This tea doesn't want you to wander to close to the hive, but gives the aroma of honey just enough for us to know it's there. Honeybush is great to use in blends and steeps @ 212 for 5 minutes or longer. In fact, the longer the better! Like a good hike in the woods. Plan to stay, I mean steep, for a while.

on its own it's nothing to write home about but it's smooth and is easier to drink than rooibos

Honeybush is mild and sweet, and feels calming on the stomach. I highly recommend this tea as a milder, less menthol alternative to rooibos.

This was such a pleasant surprise! I got absolutely no medicinal taste, just natural sweetness and a mild fruity flavor. A great evening tea just as it is.

3/7/2023. This is a nice tea, and I like it very much in quite a few blends. I just prefer it in a blend with other flavors. This is a very slight minus in my review of this tea. If I could, I would give it a 4 1/2 rating. There is nothing wrong with that other than the fact that I like it in a blend just a little bit better. It’s still a very good tea that I am happy to drink!

I really like honeybush. I drank it with nothing added and while I prefer flavored honeybush the basic is quite good on its own. I steeped at 212 degrees for 5 minutes.

This is a great tisane that works well in a blend, flavored and can stand alone as well. I added a dipperful of local raw honey to make it a dessert.

Mellow and slightly sweet with mild earthy notes. The wood flavors are not as strong as some rooibos I've had. Makes a good base for blends.

CommuniTEA portion: 212 for 5 minutes. Fun to try the honeybush on its own. I enjoy it in blends. Probably not something I would drink often but a nice alternative as a caffeine free option.

A mild tea on its own with light sweet notes and a pleasant, not quite woodsy like roiboos, but almost a warmer toasted honey note. Amazing in blends. On its own, I think it's better suited for when you need a simple yet soothing tea for a sore throat or tender feeling stomach.

I had forgotten how much I just liked this 'tea.' It is a surprisingly sweet infusion that is well named, with a distinctive honey-like taste. It has a slightly woody note to it so that once told, I can sense the 'family' resemblance to rooibos, but I wouldn't say they taste the same. Honeybush definitely has a lighter and sweeter taste. I bought a bag of this after tasting it from an advent calendar then forgot about it. I'm very glad of this reminder!

This Honeybush tea made a nice base to add a flavored honey or flavored cream to. It has a slightly woody taste without sweetner. Not something I would gravitate towards unless it was sweetened but I'm glad I got to try it plain.

It is nice to taste this on its own to realize why it makes such a nice base for blends. I do prefer it as part of a blend though.

This is my first tasting of plain honeybush tea. I definitely prefer it blended with some flavors instead. I also prefer the flavor of honeybush compared to rooibos. This tea does have a nice aroma.
