Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

★★★★★

Very unique flavor! It works great as a mixer or alone.

★★★★★

Still undecided on whether I like this or rooibos more, but if you like one, you'll like the other.

I love this tea! It's got a nice clean, mellow taste! Great for blending!

★★★☆☆

I was hoping to like this as much as rooibos, but it was more "woody" than I would have liked. Not bad, but not thrilling, either.

Didn't knock my socks off or anything but a nice simple tea. This is the kind of tea that is good to keep on hand for blending with other teas.

★★★★☆

I prefer the gentle, sweet flavor of honeybush to the more sour rooibus. Great with honey!

★★★★☆

I can't decide if I like this better than rooibos or not. I don't like either one of them straight, but they are great in night time blends or whenever I am avoiding caffeine.

This is a slightly sweeter version of rooibus. I like it a bit better than rooibus. The flavor I think of as distinctly rooibus is milder in this tea, and I like it better than the full-strength flavor of rooibus.

★★★★☆

I've never tried honeybush before, I was kinda afraid with how it smells. I liked the smell, but it didn't smell like something drinkable. After I tried it, I actually liked it. It has like this hint of spiciness that I like.

I was surprised to find I liked this-- I do not like rooibos as it tastes somewhat medicinal to me, but honeybush is thankfully lacking that weird "cough-syrup" flavor. Very nice by itself or blended with other herbal teas.

Honeybush was very good and mild. Not a strong flavor at all. I put honey and lemon in and it was great for late night relaxation.

Thought i would like this, because I absolutely adore the rooibos teas. However I found this tea to be unpleasant.

★★★☆☆

Yummy I do enjoy the loose tea using the ingenuiTea small pot.

Honeybush tastes like Rooibos but a tad richer and heavy on the mouth and vaguely sweeter than Rooibos. It brews to a dark red.

Honeybush is my new favorite tea. It is delicious. The tea smells and tastes of honey. Perfect for any time of day!

★★★★☆

It has a woody and earthy taste. I like such kind of tea. Maybe it's not for everyone.Rooibos for me is smoother.

★★★★☆

Lovely sweet musty aroma, reminiscent of bruised cedar bark, with a smooth mouth feel and not sweet. A tea both my husband and I can agree on (and caffeine free to boot).

★★☆☆☆

This tea smelled like bark mulch and was not at all sweet. Tasted like I was just drinking colored water with a bit of a wood like taste.

★★★☆☆

Honeybush tastes like more perfumed Rooibos to me. While I do like Rooibos a lot, Honeybush is less exciting.

★★★★★

got this for my sister she gave me a cup and it waz verry yummy

★★★★★

I'm really glad I ordered this tea, it lacks the medicinal flavor of rooibos while still tasting similar.

★★★☆☆

A little sweeter than the regular rooibos so I enjoy a bit more. Not sure if I am a true fan of rooibos, but will drink it when a non-caffinated drink is what I am looking for at the time.

★★★★★

This is a very tasty tea for those who enjoy a caffeine free tea that isn't fruity or flowery like most herbal teas. It's also great to mix with the jasmine rooibos as a half and half.

★★★★★

Very mild, tasty flavor. I was concerned about how long it was supposed to steep, but it needs the whole seven minutes of steeping to really get the full flavor of the tea. It doesn't get bitter at all, even with the long steeping time.

★★★★☆

I really like Honeybush a lot. Although a cousin to Rooibos, I actually prefer it. Smooth and lightly sweet.

★★★★☆

Tasty! Will definitely order more. My little sister ran off with the majority of the sample.

★★★★★

Sweet! Brews less red than rooibos, but still uniquely satisfying.

★★★★★

Pretty neat grass drink. Sweeter than rooibos. I enjoy it once in a while.

★★★★★

I love this stuff. It smells like honey, but tastes like tea.

★★★★★

Wonderful tea! I add some honey to it and it makes it perfect.

★★★★☆

Has an interesting flavor. Definitely different. It kind of grows on you the more you sip. I wouldn't drink this every day, but I will give it a whirl from time to time.

★★★★★

So good any time of the day. If you don't love Rooibos try this, it's similair but sweeter and better.

★★★☆☆

This was fine and of itself - but I'd recommend getting a flavored honeybush. A good tea if you want a very mild tea.

★★★★★

Honeybush is light and sweet and awesome. I love that it has no caffeine, so I can keep drinking it at night. Instead of getting bitter it gets better the longer you steep it.

★★★★★

The sweeter version of rooibos. I love this for in the evenings right before bed.

★★☆☆☆

Has nearly no flavor, aside from a slight sweetness. I thought it would taste similiar to rooibos, but no joy. I experimented with the quantity and steep time, but it is still only slightly more interesting than water.

★★★★☆

A mellow yet flavorful tea with sweet notes to it, it's perfect for late evening tea drinking, especially since it's caffeine free. I love adding real honey to it; it's great for sore throats.

★★★★★

I didn't know what to expect from this tea, but I was the opposite of disappointed. The tea has an incredibly full body with an amazing aroma and fulfilling sweet taste with a fantastic nasal flavor. I highly recommend it.

I love this stuff heaps better than the rooibos. It's sweeter and not as medicinal tasting. I love it just on its own without any sugar.

★★★★★

This is a great tasting tea! It is very sweet, so as a person with an extreme sweet-tooth, I found that I only had to add a little bit of sugar to this tea. If you like your tea unsweetened, steer clear of this tea.

★★★☆☆

A cousin to the Roobios plant, this stubbly brush tastes sweet, but there isnt enough to keep me interested after a rare cup.

★★★★☆

Similar to rooibos but with a strong suggestion of honey. I like it as well as or better than rooibos.

★★★★☆

I enjoy this with lemongrass. Has a nice mellow flavor.

★★★★★

OOOOOHHH! What a delicious sweet tea! Add a dribble of amaretto, and it is heavenly!

★★★★☆

Delicious! Sweet, wonderful flavor. This will be one of my new favorites.

★★★★☆

Good tea, a little plain but that's because I don't have any rock sugar to put in it.

★★★☆☆

There is definitely a sweetness to this tea, but it can be too strong when oversteeped. I prefer rooibos over this.

★★★★☆

Very nice for a non-tea sort of flavor. It has a decent body and a nice flavor, no bitterness.

★★★☆☆

Not so great - haven't tried it hot yet, only iced

★★★★★

Very nice mellow flavor -- good either sweetened or plain.
