Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

★★★☆☆

This tea is too mild for me. I tend to like my teas strong. It would not be cost effective for me to drink this on a regular basis.

★★★★☆

Great tea. Tastes like a rooibos but gentler and with a natural sweetness.

★★★★☆

Honeybush us a naturally sweeter, lighter rooibus tea. I like to drink it iced in the afternoon because it has no caffine.

★★★★★

I love this herbal. The aroma is slightly sweet and honeylike and it's perfect at night.

★★☆☆☆

Wanted to try it to see what it was. Turns out it wasn't my taste for a tea. However, I gave to a friend that likes it.

★★★★★

My favorite - perfect for a relaxing afternoon or a quiet evening curled up with a good book. I agree with other reviewers that this would be a good tea to blend with - I like mine with a pinch of chamomile and blood orange.

★★★★☆

When I don't feel like messing with foxtrot or chammomile for the messy cleanup they offer this is my preferred bedtime tea. It can be too sweet for me sometimes but overall it is satisfying. Not good cold, tho, in my opinion.

★★★★★

This is another tea we keep as a staple - it's a bit lighter than the Rooibos but works great alone or as a flavored tea - love that it has no caffine

★★★★☆

I am not a rooibos fan but I found this delicious.

★★★★☆

Light and refreshing. I'd like to try this one iced.

★★★★☆

This tea brews stronger than other honeybush teas I've tried, but the flavor seems a little less complex, somehow, than some of those other teas. Quite good anyhow, though.

★★★★★

This is probably one of my favorite roobios teas. I do taste a bit of sweetness without any sugar.

★★★★★

A favourite in our hours. Delicious and so very good for you, a perfect combination!

★★★★☆

A nice non-caffinated tea. Good with milk and honey

★★★★☆

Naturally sweet tea. You don't have to add anything to this tea to make it taste great.

★★★★☆

While not as good as roobios by itself, I'm sure this tea will compliment other teas very well.

★★★★☆

The naturally sweet flavor made for a refreshing, caffeine free drink at night and even worked well as an iced tea since it didn't need any sugar.

★★★☆☆

Definitely an acquired taste. However, if you are looking for something different, give a little sample a try.

★★★★★

Honeybush was a great suprise. It is all the parts that I love about rooibos with a sweet (at the risk of being redundant) 'honey like' finish. Very enjoyable for those nights you are curled up on the couch, reading or watching tv.

★☆☆☆☆

Definitely not as good as the rooibos teas. I really did not like this one at all. Had a very strange flavor.

★★★★☆

A little sweet for my tastes, but still a great caffeine-free option. It has the earthy flavor of rooibos, with a bright sweetness to it.

For those who enjoy red tea, honey bush is a bit sweeter but still tastes great.

★★★☆☆

I enjoy honeybush every now and then. The smell sometimes turns me off slightly. It is reminiscent of old tea that has been sitting out for awhile, mildewy, or musty smell. However, if it doesn't remind you of those things the taste is quite good and its worth a try. A great mixer with other teas.

Good for Rooibos fans. A tea for favs of blending different types of tea together.

★★★★☆

i was expecting to love this, but the flavor is a bit weak next to the rooibos. still an enjoyable tea.

★★★★★

Wonderful flavor. Tiny hint of spice to it.

Since trying honeybush for the first time recently, I've made a point of sharing it with all of my friends. Although not 'tea' in the strictest sense of the word, its fantastic & has a natural sweetness I just love. Just give the sample a try if you're not sure---everyone I've given some to has become a convert by the bottom of the cup!

★★★☆☆

The family resemblance to rooibos is certainly clear, but the distinct flavor of honey replaces some of the woody complexity of its better-known cousin. Interesting to try, but I'll stick with the original.

★★★☆☆

This was very cloying and sweet for me. It had a strange aftertaste when compared to the roobios, and I have to say that I enjoy the roobios teas far more.

★★★★★

Great base for blending, adds a very earthy, medicinal note to any tea blend. Good on it's own too, if you're not looking for anything too complex.

★★★★★

The smell of this tea is very aromatic. When i first smelled this tea it made me feel i was in a world of paradise. The taste has a true sensation of honey and roobios tea. This splended sweet aromatic tea will go perfect as a late afternoon drink to make you feel at peace. I would highly recommend this tea to anyone whose willing to explore this honey like tea from Africa.

★★★☆☆

I've developed a taste for rooibos, so I was interested in giving this one a try. It's not exactly a sweet rooibos...the 'honey' component is a bit on the sickly side for me. It may work well in a blend, but on its own is inferior to rooibos.

★★★★☆

An interesting alternative to rooibos but not quite as nice honestly.
