Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

Lovely honey back flavor. Great mixed with other teas

★★★★★

Great tea. Very similar to rooibos but with a sweeter after-taste. If you're a fan of rooibos, I highly recommend you try this tea.

★★★★★

Holy crap that is suprisingly good. It has a sweet almost honey like flavor to it that is great both clean and with a quarter teaspoon of honey or sugar added.

This was another purchase for my girlfriend. She really enjoys the honeybush when it gets cold out. She has made mention that it's a good tea for sore throats.

This honeybush has a great taste that's not too overpowering. The honey taste is great, but subtle which I like. This is definitely one of my favorites

As others have said, honeybush is similar to rooibos but has a slight sweetness to it. I agree with this and will definitely be sticking with my normal rooibos for tisane goodness.

★★★★★

Not a lot sweeter than rooibos but less nutty. I like it quite a bit. Brewed in iced tea maker this is a refreshing all-day drink.

★★★★★

Honeybush tea is an excellent counterpart to Rooibos. If the two are musical pieces, Honeybush is light, airy, and filled with treble, countering Rooibos's depth and bass. As has been mentioned before, perfect for those who find Rooibos too 'medicinal'.

★★★★☆

I like this better then red rooibos. Its definitely sweeter and much lighter. Different then the green rooibos even. It tastes more like red rooibos then the green does, somewhere in the middle but still very light in flavor. Overall a good tea, but I personally like Green Rooibos better.

I think honeybush may be a misleading name for this tea. It's better than the rooibos I think, but still not great. Has a strange taste to it.

★★★★☆

Very woody (the bush name is fitting), a nicely flavored tea. Mild, not bitter or sweet, a good afternoon cup.

In my opinion, honybush is far better tasting than rooibos. A lot sweeter, you just need to let it steep longer than most people tend to do.

A nice relaxing cup to have on its own, or it's good to mix with other teas.

★★★★☆

It makes a great southern sweet tea if you want somthing differnt.

★★★★★

This was much tastier than I was expecting! Lightly sweet, and just plain nice.

I've had one other type of Honeybush tea before I ordered this one. Based on my previous experience, I was expecting this tea to be a little sweeter. Perhaps I haven't had much Honeybush, but this tea was OK. It does have a toasted, earthy taste though, which is nice.

★★★★★

Very sweet with mild herbal notes. Very delicious! The smell was a bit off-putting in the bag,as it smelled of cheap spices. Was pleasantly surprised!

tasted like hot water...no substance at all and no life

★★★★☆

I was nervous to try this because I'm not a big fan of it's cousin, rooibus, but I was pleasantly surprised with this tea. Nice light, earthy flavor. Definitely will drink again!

★★★★★

I have always loved Honeybush tea, this was my first time trying it bagless and I was not disappointed.

★★★☆☆

Overall this tea is alright, I love the sweet honey smell it gives out though.
The taste of the tea is not on the strong side, I used twice the amount recommended to get any flavor. And you don't taste much honey flavor in the tea. It also gives out a hint of herbal taste. I think this tea would taste great if you add a little honey to it.

Better than Rooibus. I am going to try the orange Honeybush next.

★★★★☆

A good tea but not very strong at all. I prefer black teas and ordered a sample of this one to try something different. I was pleasantly surprised - would reorder on occassion.

Love the slightly sweet scent, enjoy the medium-full flavor. Awesome nighttime cup(s).

★★★☆☆

This tasted similar to rooibos, but it was rather flat in comparison. Though it was slightly sweeter, it was bland.

★★★★★

Honeybush is a Rooibos without being a Rooibos. Great taste, different than I have had before. This goes on my reorder list!!

★★★★★

An interesting counterpoint to rooibos. I thank Adagio for introducing me to this tisane.

★★★★★

Such a great herbal, no caffeine and this mixes well with just about anything. I like adding it to mint teas.

★★★★★

Rather nice. It has a light, honey-like flavor and was delicious. I enjoyed drinking it and would buy it again.

★★★★☆

Personally I’m not sure what to think about the comment of Honeybush being very close to Rooibos as while I do not like Rooibos, must be the sweeter honey like notes in Honeybush that make it more enjoyable to me. While Honeybush is my caffeine-free tea of choice that I find enjoyable, quite honestly I would much rather be drinking a nice oolong or puerh if at all possible depending upon the time of day.

★★★★★

Fantastic iced either with lemon or blended with hibiscus flowers

★★★★★

light and sweet - best morning coffee substitute to date!

★★★☆☆

pretty good by its self but it is more of a filler or an add in than anything else.

★★★★☆

had an amazing aroma and tasted really well too

★★★★★

I have to say my favorite so far. i've tried 15 different samplers...and this is amazing.

★★★★☆

This flavor was mellow and sweet. There was nothing that made it stand out especially, but not a bad tea by any means.

★★☆☆☆

The description sounded good, but the taste was terrible. I gave it away to someone who was interested in trying it.

★☆☆☆☆

Didn't like it. I'm nolt very found of herbal tea of any sort, but this one is really on the bottom of the list. Try rooibos istead.

★★★☆☆

Its not a bad cup of tea theres just nothing special too it. It reminds me of a less flavorful rooibos.

★★★★☆

Not as sweet as I expected. Better as an addition than to drink on its own, in my opinion.

★★★★☆

I love the honeybush flavors so I decided to try the unflavored version. It has a very mild flavor that I enjoy, but is a little plain on its own. I love the natural sweetness, though, and will blend this with other teas.

Rooibos is great, so I thought I might like this sweeter tea. I did, but not as much.

★★★★★

This is a lovely herbal. No caffeine and a smooth, faintly floral flavor. Great iced in the afternoon or warm at night.

★★★★★

A great cousin of rooibos with an extra sweet hint. I plan to keep a pitcher of iced honeybush in the fridge at all times. One note, I'd recommend using pouch tea bags to steep this rather than a mesh tea ball. A ball tends to let a lot of dust into the cup. Not a big issue, but I prefer the cleaner presentation.

This is my second time buying honeybush tea, the first time being from a grocery store in bags. I won't ever do that again. This tea is mild with a sweet and clean flavor. I find that it's perfect for an upset stomach and for calming down in times of stress and tension.

★★★☆☆

This was a pretty good herbal. Not the best thing I've ever tasted, but not bad. This is something that would be best in a mix, because it doesn't really seem to stand on its own. It smells nice, and I like the color, but the flavor isn't awe-inspiring.

★★★★★

A wonderful tea to give you that much needed skip to your step. It's hard to not smile while drinking this tea. It has it's own sweetness and generally doesn't need sugar or honey.

★★★☆☆

Maybe it's a personal thing but I think the honeybush needs some flavor to accompany it.

★★★☆☆

This tea is a little smokey for me. I really want to like it because it is decaf but I usually end up drinking something else instead.

★★★★★

If you think rooibos "too medicinal" this solves the problem - sweeter, more citruisy flavor, even better iced tea fodder than the roiboos.
