Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

★★★★★

perfect. one of my favorites. love it with cream and honey!

★★★☆☆

Not the best honeybush I've tried. tastes (and looks, with its reddish color) more like regular rooibos than my current favorite honeybush. Not a bad tea, just not what I was looking for.

★★★☆☆

I really didn't like this one. I was slightly confused on how it was supposed to taste.

★★★☆☆

I like the first sip of it, but it somehow takes on a different taste after a little while and I like it less

★★★☆☆

I love that the honeybush is organic, however I did not like the taste of it as much as I liked the Vanilla Rooibos. It has some of that earthiness that is characteristic of rooibos but for me it had a hint of an off flavor, almost mustardy. I expected something that had a sweeter more honey like taste (given the name).

Really new tea for me, so no acquired taste yet. I keep working on it.

★★★★★

I really love this tea. This happens to be my favorite and after trying its sister tea, red rooibos, I decided that this tea is easily on par with its sister.

★★★★★

Subtle flavor - great aroma
This has become my go-to tea when I don't want something strongly flavored

★★★★★

I received this for a gift and liked it so well ordered another one.

★★★★☆

Smells just like honey and tastes very similar to rooibos, but a tad earthier. A little sweetener and it's spot on.

Being a fan of red rooibos tea, I wanted to give this a try. It has a different flavor than rooibos. It seems to have a slight citrus undertone as well as a stronger flavor than rooibos. Rooibos seems to have a smoother flavor which I think I prefer, although who knows, that might change as I keep drinking it. The one thing I don't like is the smell, although I am not quite sure why.

This tea smells like fall leaves. It tastes sweet yet earthy. A fantastic fall tea!

It was alright, but personally, I like the rooibos better

I'm trying to avoid the consumption of sugar and this tea is delicious on its own. No need to add sugar/milk/cream. Its nice and sweet when hot and taste sweeter when cold. I would reorder it.

Not bad, Not great. Get Rooibos instead. You will be happier.

I tried a 'brand X' honeybush and hated it. Got this as a sample, and am now a true convert. It has a special, fruity, semi-sweet aroma and taste. Very relaxing. No wonder the Woman's No. 1 Detective Agency liked it.

★★★★★

A very unique tea, I don't really know how to describe the taste of it. It's sweet and it's got a very distinct flavor to it, I would give it a try.

★★★★★

This is a perfect tea for when I wake up in the morning. It has a kind of floral flavor to it and a light sweetness without adding any sugar. It's definitely a good tea for anyone who has trouble with the strong rooibos flavors. I absolutely love this tea.

I love this tea. Perhaps too much. It's full of flavor and kinda has a sweet taste, I love it, goes great with almost everything.

★★★★★

Wonderful tea! Very comforting, with sweet floral notes. A perfect study tea.

This is a much better flavor than the rooibos. Slightly sweet tasting, smooth.

YES!!! Yes yes yes yes yes!!

Sweet, slightly woodsy, rich, delicious - hahah... you can tell I'm on a rush from this tea. It's caffeine free which means I can chug it if I want, but it's AMAZING. I have a sweet tooth the size of a galaxy, and this is great! I love it so much! Oh man oh man... and my fiance says: 'HoLY and^#and* WOW. That is sweet! Wow wow. That's awesome!!'

This is actually very likely to be on my 'reorder' list :)

I didn't really care for this one. It smelled great and sounded delicious but it has a strange licorice aftertaste.

★★★★★

Nice light flavor, not overpowering. I prefer the sweet smooth taste of rooibos teas over the black and green teas. No need to add honey or sugar to sweeten, perfect like it is.

★★★★★

Tastes like the 70's. Honey bushes everywhere. Yum.

★★★★☆

The aroma of the unbrewed leaves is sweet, fruity, and complex. Sadly, it didn't quite transfer to the taste, which I found not as flavorful as I hoped. Still, a pleasant kind of tea, that might be excellent in a mix.

★★★★☆

It lives up to its name. It smells like honey (yet slightly medicinal) but it tastes sweet, just like honey. I had to add more sugar than I normally do to get to something I enjoyed. Overall, I would not use this tea to replace the Rooibos I love, but I don't hate it, either. Not my favorite, and I might order if I get a hankering.

★★★★★

Smooth and soothing slightly sweet and just lovely all around!

★★★★☆

Good alternative to standard rooibos. Great way to start the day.

★★★★☆

My 10 year old is a honeybush fan and he enjoyed this very much :0)

★★★★★

The way I prefer to drink this is mixed with Rooibos. 1/3 honeybush to 2/3 rooibos

★★★★★

A sweet smell of honey with a little bit of tartness.

★★☆☆☆

I figured I would give this a try since I wanted a caffeine free tea-like drink. Upon drinking it, I just don't feel like this is the type of thing I would ever drink for enjoyment. It really does taste medicinal, and considering this is supposedly less medicinal than red rooibos, I don't think I'll be trying any more rooibos. It tastes a little bit like certain cherry medicines, albeit better. I don't get too much honey flavor, and it tastes almost a bit spicy. The flavor is not complex to me, it's fairly one dimensional. There's no aftertaste or mouth feel, so it's a much less interesting drink to me than even bad teas. If you want to try rooibos I would really recommend to get one that is infused with fruit or other flavoring, perhaps it'll be good then. Don't take my bad review as objective and true for everyone, you may like this more than I do.

Tastes really good with some honey mixed in it...

★★★★☆

This tea is pretty mild, nice and sweet and woody, but less caramel-like than Rooibos. I like it :)

This taste mostly just like regular rooibos, except it's a little drier and less sweet.

★★★★★

Introduced to this in England with tea from Fortnum and Mason. Great for warm summer weather. Very light, delicate. Love it!

★★★★★

this was my first time trying honeybush i really like the nice flavor

★★★★★

A little stronger and sweeter than roobios, a new favorite.

★★☆☆☆

I have never tried anything like this and it looked interesting enough. I was not too impressed, it have very little flavor. It is nice to mix with stronger teas but by its self a little bland.

I absolutely love this tea in combination with any fruit herbal tea.

★☆☆☆☆

NOT for me. Will give this sample to someone else. It tastes like ?dry honey?. That's the only thing that comes to mind.I tried it twice. NO MORE.

Got this one for my mother. She likes it, I thought it was bland.

★★★★☆

Bought a sample because it's advertised to taste similar to rooibos, however I can't get as excited about it like I am about rooibos. It's naturally sweet like rooibos, but it's more spicy/earthy, almost like tree bark. It makes a delicious cup of tea and mixes well with others, but rooibos will always be my favorite sweet, caffeine-free treat.

The honey scent was quite strong in the leaves prior to steeping--much more subtle after. It had a pleasant sweetness to it, but didn't seem very complex or especially interesting. I wouldn't be sad to have it again, but there are better choices that I will focus on when deciding to spend my money.

Not as easy to drink as Rooibos. Seems a bit too woody for my tastes.

Looks and smells very similar to sassafras tea at first, but has a very pleasant, sweet, mildly 'woody' flavor without the medicinal afterglow. I can't have caffeine anymore and was desperately looking for a hot cuppa that would satisfy, and I found it. Hello, honeybush.

★★★☆☆

A little too bitter for my tastes, but it smells lovely!

Honeybush simply did not do anything for me. I did not find it sweet, and I simply liked the taste of rooibos better.
