Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

★★★☆☆

Not what I expected. Ok tea. Not comparable with rooibos.

★★★★☆

This has a nice smooth taste. It was sent to me as a sample and I would buy it.

★★★★☆

This to me was like a spiced rooibos. To me it did not seem as sweet or sweeter than rooibos as I have read. I guess I would compare it to the difference between a glass of red wine(rooibos) and a glass of spiced red wine(honeybush). I drink a lot of rooibos and although I prefer it I wouldn't avoid honeybush in the future.

★★★★☆

I liked this much more than its cousin rooibos. It was smoother, and didn't have the odd vinyl taste I associate with rooibos. Also good iced.

★★★☆☆

Very sweet, I would definitely chose honeybush hazelnut though.

★★★★☆

Subtle yet quite sweet. A distant cousin to rooibos.

★★★★★

I was never a tea drinker. Coffee was what I loved. This tea is very smooth and pleasant. It's another tea I will continue to purchase not only for it's health benefits but for its taste as well.

★★★★☆

I didn't enjoy this as much as rooibos, it had a lighter quality to it. Beautiful tea, and I would probably have liked it better if I had tried it first.

★★★★★

Very good flavor - smooth and sweet - mixes well with almond oolong, but great on its own.

★★★★★

This was very similar to the rooibos, though I have to say I enjoyed this one a little bit more. It's got an almost spicy taste along with the earthiness, but a mellowing aftertaste that resembles (you guessed it) honey. If you almost liked rooibos but found it tasted a little funky, you might like this one (though I enjoy both in different ways).

This tea is very good, but I prefer rooibos. I don't see myself ever choosing this one over that.

★★★★★

Nice earthy flavor. Good morning or before bed to help you sleep

I have tried honeybush blended with other teas and liked that. I'll say this was pretty good too, didn't dissapoint

★★☆☆☆

Tasted exactly like trough water. Would not order again.

★★★★★

Delicious, high quality honeybush tea. This one is pleasant without anything added, nice smooth flavor and sweet finish. Highly recommended!

★★★★☆

While I much prefer the flavor of rooibos, this honeybush tea is pretty good as well. It has a slight astringency that isn't present in rooibos.

★★★★☆

Pretty tasty. If you let it steep for too long it can get a little cloyingly sweet, so don't forget about it.

★★★★☆

Very good option for late night tea drinking. Robust flavor that stands up to a little milk even.

Another favorite. Nice to have a tea I can put milk and sugar into...and drink at night.

★★★★☆

A bit too minty, not earthy enough.

★★★★☆

The description is right, honeybush is naturally sweet. It's worth trying but it's somewhat unremarkable.

★★★★☆

Overall a pretty good style of rooibos tea. I really enjoyed this one. It had a good flavor.

★★★☆☆

It's ok, but I just think I don't love honeybush. It's an astringent flavor that is interesting, but not my cup of tea (groans).

★★★★★

Great flavor when I want a little excitement. Will buy again.

★★★☆☆

I can definitely tell where it gets it's name. Does have the smell and flavor of a honey rooibos, but too light and mild for my taste.

★★★★☆

Lovely. It smells wonderfuly sweet and has the smell of fresh spring woods even though I accidentally steeped it too long. Definitely an excellent soothing tea.

This is a really flavorful rooibus. Very lightly sweet and quite rich.

had no flavor, almost mildewed taste. not recommended

★★★★★

A good herbal tea for those used to rooibos. Naturally sweet without sweetener and great for beginners and snobs alike.

I got this tea for my boyfriend and he really enjoys it. He says it is a good pick-me-up at work. I am giving it a good review because it was for him and he enjoyed it, however I will make a note that I really disliked the smell of this.

★★★★★

This has become one of my favorite teas. I love the slight woodsy smell. I think it tastes better than rooibos. You won't be disappointed.

Tried it for the first time, loved it and the kids loved it too!

★★★☆☆

It was ok but I won't order it again not that good

★★★★☆

Not bad. I liked the tea, especially with a couple teaspoons of honey.

★★★★☆

A great tea for the evening to relax with. Smells amazing.

★★★★★

I've never tried a rooibos tea, so I cannot compare honeybush to it. But I have to say that I love how this tea has sweetness to it. When I want my tea sweetened, I usually add honey. But this has the right amount of it that I don't need to add anything and I can enjoy this cup plain. The aroma is also very pleasant to me. not too strong, but not weak either.

★★★★★

Great! This tea was excellent. I will get it again.

★★★☆☆

This one is ok. There is nothing absolutely memorable and it almost smells like nothing, but it's nice.

★★★★☆

A nice lightly sweet tea, though it's not really anything awesome.

★★★★★

This is my new favorite tea. It's so sweet and goes well with so many other herbs and flavors.

★★★★☆

I went in expecting a sweeter rooibos, and I was half right. It's definitely sweeter but the underlying notes are different. More toasty and mellow that rooibos, with some subtle notes of dried hay. Enjoyable but not terribly outstanding for me.

★★★★☆

Delicate, but at the same time oddly peppery. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but wouldn't use it for everyday teatime.

★★★★☆

Naturally sweet and soothing on it's own. I do not add any sweeteners to this tea. I like it because it's less powerful than rooibos and is caffeine-free.

★★★★★

I took this tea to work with me, had one cup and that was it. Everyone could smell the delicious aroma, then there was, can I try it. And then they went back for seconds and then it was gone. Left everyone wanting more, especially me. Fabulous tea, loved by all!!

★★★★☆

Honeybush is not a bad herbal tea. I prefer rooibos. The taste of honey bush is sweet and has light straw taste to it.

If you want to add a bit of sweetness to another tea, pick up some honeybush! I find it blends really well and has a nice sweet flavor without any weird aftertaste. It's also great as it's own - and I love that it never gets bitter.

★★★★☆

Based on less-than-positive experiences with its grassy cousin rooibos, I was prepared not to like it... but honeybush was actually quite good. When I opened the pouch it had a dry smell similar to wood chips, and the liquor had virtually the same aroma after brewing. It had decent mouthfeel and a sweet yet (predictably) woody taste. So far Adagio's has been excellent for a caffeine-free evening infusion.

I like to mix this with rooibos tea for relaxing after dinner tea.

Honeybush has become my new favorite evening drink. Caffeine free and very aromatic (makes me think of sandalwood, in a good way), a very relaxing way to relieve the stress of the day.
