I adore a good decaf cup and this is a lovely, sweet chocolate treat! It’s pretty good solo but sweetener makes the blend utterly scrumptious! I can see myself kicking back with a good book and indulging in this brew--all the fun of dessert without the calories! Happy Sipping!

A delightful chocolate tea with some natural sweetness and warm nutty flavor from the honeybush tea base.

My CT packet has 3 g/ 2 tsp. Of brown colored honeybush tea leaves with plenty of dark cocoa nibs. Honeybush has no bitterness or astringency and is very forgiving when you don’t pull the steep on time. From past experience, my favorite way to brew is 2 tsp of tea in a 12 oz. mug at 212*F for 5 min. I enjoy that strength and then add a touch of honey for an oh so delicious cuppa. A resteep of 6 oz. for 10 min. has the same reddish brown liquor as the first and is flavorful too. Both cups are gone in a flash. This is a wonderful night time treat with no caffeine and is an easy chocolate tea to blend with too.

I felt it was one note and fell kinda flat. The honeybush is an earthy, woody flavor. The chocolate adds a bitterness to that without any sweetness. Not my fav.

The tea is tastey and smooth. The honeybush is delicious! Because of the blends name I expected more chocolate notes. Maybe it was my sample packet but there was no chocolate flavor in my cup. 212, 7min

While I'm sure this is delicious, unfortunately I can't have chocolate. So, I will pass this one on to someone to enjoy.

CommuniTEA Sample: Excellent Chocolate Honeybush tea that has some nice chocolate flavor without all of the sugar. This blend is far better than several of the Chocolate Rooibos teas that I have tried. Nice and light with a deep chocolate flavor. One of the better chocolate herbals I have tried.

28 Oct 21 communiTEA retaste review: I had 3.43 grams of tea, enough for a 14 ounce steep. Honey flavors and sweetness from the honeybush were very noticeable. No bitterness was noted at all. The last review I had more cocoa nibs and didn’t weigh the tea to choose the proper amount of steep water. I again added ½ teaspoon of sugar and ½ teaspoon of half & half. A very nice tasting hot dark chocolate milk drink was noted. I finished the whole thing. It sat real good on the ol’ gizzard! Now a four ⭐️!

27 Oct 20 communiTEA review: ⭐️⭐️ A equal amount of cocoa nibs and Honeybush were noted in my communiTEA packet. When hot, raw and sharp bitterness tastes were noted. This wasn’t surprising considering the amount of coco nibs noted in my packet. The Honeybush added some mild woody and honey flavors. I added a 1/2 tsp sugar to help reduce bitterness and bring out some dark chocolate flavors. When warm, dark cocoa bitterness was still present, but moderate. I added a bit of half & half, but that didn’t help with the bitterness ... it just provided a slightly smooth mouthfeel. I’m afraid the cocoa nibs overpowered my brew to the point of unpleasantness. The poor Honeybush tried its best by supplying some honey flavors. I’ve got to call this one on what I tasted, not on what I thought it should taste like. I had a hard time finishing this one. (5 mins @ 212ºF, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp half & half)

10/28/21 update - my feelings about this tea haven’t changed.

I've been loving the honeybush teas lately, and also several chocolate teas, so this one seemed like it was going to be a sure fire hit for me. Unfortunately, that is not the case. It's okay, and I can taste the chocolate, but it's just not as good as the other chocolate teas I've tried, or as good as the other honeybush teas I've tried. Disappointing.

Like drinking a tootsie roll. Which is to say, the chocolate flavoring doesn’t taste like real chocolate… But it’s not too bad.

Makes a great substitute for hot chocolate if you use double the tea and add milk and sugar. @adagioteas

mmmmm. Chocolate. Any time of the day...Honeybush is a newer discovery for me through Adagio, and boy am I happy about it! Honeybush chocolate doesn't have quite as deep a flavor as the chocolate truffle, but that is more than made up for by being caffeine free, which means I can drink it any time of day. It also blends really well into Adagio's decaf black teas (such as decaf raspberry). Another pantry staple!

Pretty good, but not my favorite. Glad I have it on the shelf for a day where I may be having a chocolate craving!

My sister-in-law passed along a packet of Honeybush Chocolate. Thanks to last year's Advent Calendar, I had discovered that I really enjoy the subtle sweetness of honeybush teas, and chocolate is an inspired addition. I eked out the tea I was given until I was ready to order again, and purchased a packet of my own. Already a favorite, although I wish the chocolate was a bit more assertive.

This is a very good tea. It has the hints of chocolate, but I actually get a caramel like flavor as well. I enjoyed it immensely. I would definitely get this tea again. It's great for blending too!

My friend let me try a sample of this and I was instantly hooked. By far my favorite tea! 10/10, you won’t regret this flavor.

This is a very... underwhelming tea. I like honeybush tea a lot, and love chocolate, but this just doesn't quite work. Whether plain, sweetened, or as a latte, steeping shorter or longer, I just couldn't truly enjoy a cup. To finish off my bag, I've been mixing it with my favorite Caramel Rooibos which isn't bad. Having now tried cacao shell/husk tea, I'm really hoping Adagio will carry a blend with that instead of cacao nibs & flavoring!!

Yeeeesss to this tea! When I first opened the packet, to me, it smelled just like Tootsie Rolls. And then when I brewed it…it also tasted like Tootsie Rolls….and I love it!

There is a slight bitterness, because of the cocoa nibs, but this is still a winner in my book. I didn’t even need to add sweetener. I also added room temperature water, to cool the tea down to a warm temp before I drank it. So maybe that helped to bring out some more of the natural sweetness of the honeybush.

I brewed another cuppa the next day to make sure that my taste buds weren’t deceiving me. This time, I added some light agave nectar - just to see what would happen. The results? Still sooooooo yummy! I stopped eating Tootsie Roll candies many years ago, so this is quite a delightfully delicious discovery! Oh the world looks mighty good to me, indeed!

I’ve been looking for a really good caffeine free dessert tea for after dinner. I have tried to steep this a couple different ways but the tea just feels really weak to me and doesn’t taste like chocolate. It’s a shame because it is the only nut free caffeine free dessert tea on this site.

I didn't care for this straight-up. It was too dark (I never have that problem - love dark chocolate) and a bit too bark-like. But add a sweetener and cream and it rocks.
