I was hoping for more rich flavor. The chocolate wasn’t very strong.
The smooth, gently roasted and honeyed aroma of Honeybush from South Africa, infused with dark chocolate flavor.

I was hoping for more rich flavor. The chocolate wasn’t very strong.
Cozy rich smell, full taste. So happy it’s naturally decaf. Great in place of dessert. Honeybush is waaay better than rooibos.
Delicious for an afternoon treat! The tea is rich and satisfying! I'm going to have some now!
Possibly my 2nd favorite Adagio decaf tea (Rooibos Cocomint is #1). The flavors are well-defined. I usually use 2 tsps/cup and let it steep 3 minutes because I like the more intense flavors.
I've been mixing an equal volume of Honeybush Chocolate and Rooibos Caramel, adding a little vanilla soymilk, some ice, and Voila! A great summertime delicious Caramel Chocolate Treat!
Like a lot of chocolate teas (the only exception I've found is Chocolate Truffle) this just leaves me wanting actual hot chocolate - tastes fine, but not what I'm hoping for.
A nice, caffeine free, chocolate tea! I add in a splash of milk when drinking this.
Well who doesn't like chocolate?! This is a delightful drink that is sure to please.
Love this tea! The chocolate flavor is just what I need at the end of a busy day
Delicious! I've yet to find a honeybush tea from Adagio that I haven't liked
I think I'm just not a chocolate tea fan. I tried making it into a latte, tried it iced and hot. honestly I like it best hot with a scoop of brown sugar, but even that it's just okay. this might be on me though
Nice chocolate flavor. Great for when I want a warm chocolate drink.
This is truly like having a dessert! I especially make it in the evening when I would otherwise be looking for something to curb my sweet tooth. This fills the bill.
This honeybush is great to have in the evenings. Even though it has chocolate flavor, it won't keep you awake. My only beef with it is that it has natural chocolate flavoring and it gives it an odd parody of a chocolate flavor.
Chocolate scents flew up out of the packet as it tore open. A 5 minutes steep at 212°F generated a medium reddish brown tisane.
A rich vein of chocolate flavor runs throughout this brew. The honeybush base provides a nice woody and honeyed tinge to accent the chocolate. A slight cocoa nib bitterness gives this blend a bit of oomph.
A great caffeine-free blend featuring chocolate and honeybush prominently.
It was definitely chocolatey but a little weak. I know honeybush can make a light drink but I feel like chocolate teas and drinks should have a little more 'heaviness' to them.
It's a vibrantly chocolatey cup of tea, naturally on the sweet side and pairing incredibly well with cream and sugar.
A very tasty Honeybush Tea, but I am more partial to the vanilla version. However, a satisfying version for chocolate lovers!
So glad I bought a sample of this before having it in the CT. I was able to experiment with my time, temp, and amount of tea to get just the right cuppa. I love how the chocolate flavor is subtle, but noticeable. The honeybush has a touch of sweet nutty flavor to it which goes well with the chocolate. This is a great tea on it’s own or as a latte, and it is also a great addition to blends. I love the fact that it’s decaf and I can have it anytime without worry. @adagioteas
Yummy notes of chocolate making this a great tea to satisfy cravings!
I always love anything chocolate! The sweet honeybush base is also one of my favorites. It’s delicious with a splash of vanilla cream.
Sipping along with the CommuniTEA: Strong chocolate liqueur fragrance wafting from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 5 mins at 212° F, I notice chocolate with the sort of mustiness of honeybush.
Delicious chocolatey tasty treat! The chocolate is pleasantly rich but not too dark. It would be a great base for mixing decaf tea treats!
This tea had a light chocolate flavor with a touch of sweetness from the honeybush. I wouldn't call the chocolate flavor decadent but it was a nice afternoon sipper.
This one just became my favorite amongst Adagio's chocolate teas. I'm drinking this without sugar. I don't have to worry about bitter ceylon like the others. This is honeybush. This became my dessert after eating stir fry for dinner.
I’m not really a fan of chocolate teas; however, this is an exception. Aroma of tootsie rolls and a taste to match. Yum. Brewed at 212 for 5 minutes. Dessert in a cup.
CommuniTEA packet tasting, I like this blend. It tastes like chocolate and caramel in a cup. I feel like I could make this caffeine free blend into a stellar cocktail! Happy sipping!
When black, the chocolate and honeybush stand separate in this tea. They don't fight each other but don't come together either. Chocolate flavor is pronounced but not overdone. Some milk really improves this tea by adding creaminess and bringing the chocolate and honeybush together. It would probably make a good latte. Adding a shot of chocolate liqueur and cream was fantastic, toning down the honeybush and making a delicious tea cocktail, that's how I'll be drinking this tea in the future!
This is an excellent honeybush blend. Chocolate tends to taste plastic-y in blends like this, but not this one. The chocolate is rich, complex and layered with elements of both milk and dark chocolate.
This tea has a nice strong chocolate flavor. It doesn't taste quite a robust as a black chocolate tea, but I appreciate the fact that this version is caffeine-free. It makes a wonderful dessert tea for late evenings!
This tea tastes just like hot chocolate. I add a drop of peppermint. Delicious.
I expected much more sweet chocolate taste, but this blend just seemed lackluster. May have just been my packet, but while the smell of the tea in the packet was heavenly, after brewing it just lacked body and flavor.
10/28/2021 - Added another star to this review. I enjoyed this tea more this time around. Nice relaxing, sweet cup of tea!
Can't go wrong with chocolate! I like this one almost as much as Chocolate Truffle! A nice caffeine free version <3
Lovely chocolate tea. perfect for that chocolate craving.
This is a really yummy flavored honeybush. The honeybush lends its natural sweetness and nutty richness and the cocoa nibs add a depth and smoothness all complemented with the chocolate flavoring.
On first whiff of the brewed tea, I can smell the chocolate, along with a dry, almost woody note.
Sipping it, this is a very smooth tea - not overly sweet or bitter. The chocolate is there, but as a background note behind the sweet woodsiness that I'm assuming is the honeybush - I haven't drunk much with that base. I could definitely see seeking out a larger portion of this for myself later. Very well balanced.
From the communiTEA packet, this tea has a strong chocolate scent. When steeped, the chocolate flavor is light in flavor.
A decadent afternoon treat! I love this tea in the afternoon since it is caffeine free, and even as a dessert tea! A dollop of cream even adds to the chocolately treat! The smoothness of the Honeybush and the richness of the cocoa nibs is a great combo!
A nice little treat to have. This tea has a mild chocolate flavor that's balanced nicely with the honeybush. Bonus points if you add milk or cream to it!
I really enjoyed this one. Drank it hot with nothing added. It wasn't sweet, but not bitter either. I've been struggling to find caffeine free options I like and this was a good one.
I love honeybush and this chocolate one was no exception. I added 2 tsp of raw sugar and 2 tsp of cream to really make this a sweet treat. It had a little bit of a pink color to it after adding the cream.
On first taste , I rated this tea as “ meh” . I am sorry I did that because it wasn’t fair at all to the blender. A lot of thought and time went into this tea. My personal taste should not influence my review. I do love chocolate and I let my expectations influence me. It is a very smooth tea And not sweet. There was no aftertaste and I would be confident serving it to my guests.
The smell of this tea reminds me of Tootise Rolls! That must be the chocolate flavoring. I enjoyed this without milk or sugar, and the mildly sweet flavor of honeybush works great with the mild chocolate flavors. Is this like drinking hot chocolate? Absolutely not. But it's a pleasant, lightly cocoa-flavored drink.
What a wonderful chocolate tea without calories or caffeine. I can see why some use this to blend . I brewed at 200 for 4 minutes. I enjoyed this while binge watching Netflix at night.
Great tea!
When you open the packet you can definitely smell the chocolate. Lovely as a latte
This honeybush chocolate is a nice caffeine free chocolate tea option. It's a little light on the chocolate , but a splash of non dairy cream really brought out the flavors more.
Im not the biggest fan of chocolate even as a solid so yeah this is just not my cup of tea.
** update
Don’t steep too hot or long, slightly lower temp and it’s mild and lovely.
Mild cocoa flavor but it was a little too bitter for my taste
I'm not a big honey bush or chocolate tea fan. If i were, i think I'd enjoy this blend. It isn't overwhelming and it is balanced. However neither of these ingredients make good tea to me
