Not a bad one. Can taste coconut a little but otherwise the other flavors just aren't there. It wasn't bad, but not great either

★★★☆☆

I wasn't sure what to make of this one. It has a vague flavor of fruit potpourri. I can't make out individual notes.

It’s great tropical tea. This is one of teas that I don’t think it needs sugar to have it taste sweet

This made for a delightful cold brew tea. It is light, fruity, and evenly balanced with the flavors.

The coconut adds a nice smooth taste. It's also very nice and fruity. I had it hot although I could see it tasting good iced too.

★★★★★

Great tea! No bitterness and a very light tropical flavor. Yum!

I really enjoyed this tea! I love tropical flavors particularly all things coconut. Although this wasn't as coconut forward as I would have preferred, it was still delicious. I guess that was papaya peaking through in the flavor but to me it blended well with the coconut. The Pu-erh base really grounds it for a nice balance of earthy but yet sweet and fruity. I'll have to try it cold next time.

UPDATE 6/5/2023: Today I cold-brewed this blend, and I really liked it that way. It was probably in the fridge brewing for about 15 hours. The taste most forward was the coconut, which I like, but I don’t think it’s too heavy. It tastes like an iced tea I would be very happy to have during the warm summer months. For me, I prefer it cold rather than hot, but I also enjoyed it hot. Given the choice, I would cold-brew it. I really recommend that you give it a try if you are looking for a nice, cold, tropical taste.

I really enjoyed this tea. I was concerned that it would be too “earthy,” as some had commented, so I brewed it at 195 for 3 minutes. It tasted great from the beginning, and not at all earthy, at least not for me. I loved the coconut and fruity flavors in this blend. I think you should give it a try!

This is the first pu-erh I've liked that hasn't been in a blend. It's fruity with just a hint of rose and I like it best iced.

6/23- Not sure if it is a recipe tweak or just what was in my Communitea packet but I picked up on more papaya and maybe less coconut this time round. Cold brewed again and still enjoyed this tropical and tasty tea.
6/22-Brewed this Communitea sample in the sun for a few hours then plunked in the fridge to chill. This made for a delightful iced tea, fruity balanced with creamy coconut and a solid pu erh base.

I like the flavoring but the pu-erh seem like a strange base. It gifts the tropical fruit flavors a dusty aftertaste. Not bad, just strange.

I didn’t get much coconut, but the somewhat fishy notes of the pu erh somehow works with the tropical flavors.

Pu-erh tea isn’t really my thing. This tea did have fruity notes. I think I’ll take the suggestion of trying it iced next time.

I liked this tea better once it had cooled. The coconut was very prominent, but I did get some of the fruit flavor. Overall, a decent blend, though perhaps not one of my favorites.

Such a great pu-erh tea. There is a natural sweetness. I wish it were decaf so I could sip on it all day long.

Disclaimer - I try, but I rarely to never like a pu'erh based blend. The fruit - primarily coconut, papaya, and a slight hint of raspberry zing - was almost decent, but none of those notes could overcome the mildewed, fishy pu'erh taste shadowing over them. If you enjoy pu'erh, this will probably be a delicious, juicy tea. If you're in the middle, you could probably find this drinkable after sweetening it to emphasise the fruit. If you don't like pu'erh, feel free to skip this blend or gift it to a friend.

Lovely fruity flavor with a light coconut that came through. The aroma was fruity with subtle rose and. Coconut. I enjoyed with honey that helped enhance the flavours.

Very refreshing; nice and smooth, the coconut was a little overpowering at times but still delicious

Just enough of the pu-erh earthiness came out to give this blend an interesting flavor, The papaya and coconut finished the sip nicely, kind of an odd flavor combination but it worked for me, I detected no rosehips or rose petals at all.

Edit: I don’t know if the blend has been changed, but it tastes different. I don’t like it as much as when it was coconut forward. It’s leaving a strange aftertaste, maybe it’s the papaya, I’m not sure.
6/13/22 Delicious. My packet was heavy on the coconut, which I love, but I wanted more balance. Once I added a pinch of rock sugar, the fruit flavors came forward giving it more balance. It was gone before I even thought to save a bit to try it cold. Malty, rich Pu-erh with a tropical vibe. (195° for 3 minutes)

My favorite Communitea selection so far for June—smooth, calming cup, delicious natural tasting coconut and papaya flavor. Yum!

I liked this one a lot more than expected! The fruitiness really shown through without overpowering, and likewise with the pu’erh.

Update 6/5/23 I'm trying this again with CommuniTea. The description says its a new recipe that tames down the coconut. I kind of liked the coconut. This new version isn't as flavorful. The base is earthy and smooth and the papaya is there but not the coconut. This would be good in a blend. Bumping this down a star as I am missing the coconut.

The smell of this tea reminds me of being on the beach. Very tasty, coconut forward earthy tea. Nice sip this morning!

Cold seeped overnight to hopefully bring out fruit flavors but ended up very coconut forward.

first smell: smells fruity, but kinda weird

first steep: 5 mins @ 195* F

first taste, hot with 1 tsp sugar. Tastes fruity but kinda weird. I've never had puerh or papaya, so I don’t know from where the weird flavor is coming. Its not a 'bad' weird, just 'weird' weird.

Stuck the mug in the fridge to chill. Will see what weirdness percolates when its chilled.

Still weird, I think it’s the papaya that is weirding me out. I added some of it to my orange, peach raspberry blend from home and the papaya is still strong! But more tolerable with the other flavors.

This is probably one of the most un-Pu-erh teas I have ever tasted. The earthiness is masked by the tropical flavors of papaya and coconut, resulting in a nice, smooth sip. The rose petals must have canceled out the rose hips; as I detected no tartness. I also did not taste raspberries; which may show up once I flip this into an iced tea.

I always adore the use of puerh and this blend is no different. The sourness of the puerh pairs perfectly with the tropical flavors. There is a pucker and pop to this sip that I very much enjoy! The papaya and coconut flavors are prominent and stick with you through the steep. I added sweetener to up the profile and make sure those island vibes were at their most delicious. This tea is a winner by me! Aloha and Happy Sipping!

Liking this a lot more than I thought I would. Reminds me of a tropical Lifesaver candy. Notes of papaya and coconut. Very pleasant pu-erh

Updated from 6/13/22: This was a nice enough tea. It's not as rose-forward as I remember it from last time, which I appreciate, but it still isn't calling me back. It reminds me of Juicy Fruit gum. Steeped 5 min @ 195º.

In the bag: Plenty of tea leaves. A few apple pieces. Several decent-sized cuts of rose petal.

On the nose (pre-steep): A medley of tropical fruits, though it's hard to pick out specifics. Coconut is here.

On the nose (post-steep): Accents of coconut and papaya. Hint of hay. Mild overall.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Same flavors as the post-steep scent. No astringency.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): The papaya is a little stronger. A hint of mango.

Opinion: A splendid tea! Quite tasty, layered, and not a hint of bitterness. The fruit here is subtle enough to not overwhelm. The base tea provides structure without interfering with the additive flavors.

Preparation: First steep 5 min, second steep 10 min. Both @ 195 ℉. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.

I loved the mild tropical flavor. I’d love to get some more papaya up in there! I definitely got coconut primarily. No complaints here.

The flavors seemed rather bland to me. I tried steeping for a long amount of time and it didn’t make a difference. Rather disappointed.

★★★★☆

I liked the tropics of it which was much more noticeable if you let it cool/sit out. While hot the tropics are lessened by the strength of the puerh. If you're a, bolder darker, tea drinker, game on. For the delicate fruit drinkers, pace yourself hot.

Another fantastic Pu-Erh tea but with subtle flavors of coconut and other exotic items. Definitely worth the price. I order these in the 16 Ounce packs since the price and scarcity will only be going up.

You definitely can taste the coconut in this one. I really liked the hint of floral too. I brewed it at a little lower temp and didn't need to add milk like I do with most black teas.

Love this for summer! Very light, almost like an earthy sweet white tea with coconut. I was worried the pu-er would overpower everything, but it doesn't :)

Floral, lovely, definitely a good choice. I was expecting this to be earthy as a pu-erh, and it was, but the sweetness of the floral additions made it A+++

Tastes unassuming by itself, but if you add sugar you get a subtle fruity flavor. I tried this one because I like coconut, but if you're looking for that flavor note I would look for something else, not bad otherwise.
