A nice mix of spice and earthiness . This is not as intense as pu-erh teas can be (makes sense because it has added spices), but it is still not the same as a typical black tea.
Perky spices and mellow pu erh in a soul-soothing blend.

CommuniTEA portion: Brewed at 195 for 4 minutes. Really nice blend. Smooth with lovely spices. A great sip for a nice crisp fall morning!
Pu-erh's are a little hit or miss for me, but this one was a hit. The spice component tasted like Adagio's Oriental Spice tea - a mellow, orange forward spice, but with an earthier, heavier base. It is a perfect tea for fall weather. (reviewed through CommuniTea; 4 min @ 200F)
The tea reminds me of the spices used to make Christmas Stollen. I am still getting acquainted with the puh-erh taste, it was there in the background with the spices being the first thing I smelled and tasted. I was considering how the spices would taste with black tea.
This tea was alright, but very light. Almost tasted like spiced water. I couldn’t taste much of the tea flavor.
Spice teas are hit and miss for me. I didn’t like how it combined with the flavor of the pu-erh tea.
This pu-erh tea is much milder than the other ones I've tried; the spices were light with cinnamon and ginger being the main components. Not my favorite pu-erh, but still a good cup of tea!
A lovely tea with a lovely scent. The spice of this tea wafts from the packet as it is opened. While steeping, the scent creates a longing to drink the tea. The flavor is more of a Christmas spice similar to gingerbread rather than a peppery (hot) chai. I steeped at a lower temperature and only for 3 minutes to prevent bitterness. Although this is not my favorite spiced tea, it was still enjoyable.

My daughter keeps getting me into pu-erh and this is another one that I am enjoying. I love spiced teas.
UPDATED from 10/15/20: What fun, rich tasting tea to drink in the fall. This steeps (at a slighter lower temp) into an amber delight. It has such a creamy, soft mouth feel. The spices work so well together that they create that lovely cinnamon/ginger flavor of yummy pies. The anise (which I can’t stand) played a supporting role in bringing out the spices, and was not really noticeable until the finish, but was not unpleasant because it was joined by the orange. Over- all this was such a fun tea to drink. It steeped a second time beautifully. For the second cup I added honey, which made it even smoother, then heavy whipping cream which took it to a new happy place. I did enjoy it plain, however, so this is a versatile tea. The only downside is the high caffeine, otherwise a perfect tea for fall. (5 mins @200ºF).
An average spicy tea. Nice blend that is anise and chai heavy. Easy to sip, not bad but not one I see myself ordering again.
This spiced pu-ehr surprisingly left me wanting a little bit. It's smooth, certainly, thanks to the pu-ehr base, and the spices mostly seem to marry well with the orange, but something in the mix tastes almost artificial to me. I think it might be the 'spice flavoring' in conjunction with the earthier pu-ehr. Or maybe I'd rather just have the spices without the flavoring additive. That said, I was able to get a good second steep out of the portion of tea in my CommuniTEA pouch. (3.5-5 minutes @ 212F)
A softer chai tea than others I’ve tried, which I attribute to the pu-erh tea. The ginger is a nice addition.
Pu’erh Spice is another great Pu’erh tea from Adagio. Until today I had only tasted it as a part of other blends. Alone it is really delicious and I especially love the smell and taste of the aniseed mixed with the other spices. I will look forward to trying this again sometime. I steeped at 200 degrees for 5-6 minutes and got a second smaller, weaker steep. I added honey to enhance the flavor experience.
Cinnamon and anise are pleasantly smooth and strong on the front of this sip, echoing the character of the earthy pu-ehr base. Orange and ginger are a bright sparkle on the aftertaste, rounding things out beautifully. This is a perfect blend for late autumn and early winter!
Heavy cinnamon taste up-front blends into a sweet orange flavor. It's a smooth tea, but almost doesn't taste like there's any tea in there. Smooth and comforting, but maybe not the best for a morning wake-up.
I did a 15 second rinse just in case of odd fishy taste. The spice is nice but these pu-erh teas are not for me. I even added honey and heavy whipping cream. I am not dumping down the drain but not to be ordered by me. I need the caffeine and don't have another option currently.
In the bag: A healthy amount of aniseed and safflower decorate the blend with pops of color. Leaves are thick, long, and dark brown. Very little breakdown occurred in transit.
On the nose (pre-steep): Deep, rich scent. Aniseed and orange are prominent, with cinnamon in the background.
On the nose (post-steep): Flavors are less intense but still rich. Aniseed, orange, and cinnamon are in balance atop a slightly musty undertone.
On the tongue: Orange and spice notes pop out right away, but do not overwhelm. As the sip and main flavor fade, a tingly spicy flavor blooms on the back end. The black tea notes are in the background. No bitterness.
Opinion: A superb example of a spiced black tea. The spices compement each other without overwhelming the palette. The pu-erh adds depth and structure without the tannic bitterness of other blacks. A perfect fall flavor.
Preparation: 5 mins @ 212 ℉
Pu-erh is one of my favorite teas and this tea lives up to that. The flavor is so smooth, flavorful, and pleasantly spicy.
Also, no need to have a rinse of the leaves first. (212F for 5min)
This is a mildly spicy, soothing tea. Cinnamon was the first spice I tasted, with the others soon following.
I liked the other other pu-erh teas I tried through communitea but I don’t care for this one. It has a mellow spice flavor and a bitterness. This is not a tea for me.
I love the combo of spices and puerh tea. They blend perfectly and compliment each other quite well. A good marriage 😀
Great tea!!! Love this so much. I love all the teas I have tried so far. My cabinet is full. Tea Lover
This one is ok. However I don't think I personally like flavor Pu-Eh. I like the Dante one.
I enjoyed the overall flavor of this tea without even looking at the ingredients!
I love plain pu-ehr tea, but when my last supplier stopped selling it, decided to see how Adagio's were. This has a lot of flavors going on that drown the pu-ehr itself. Not necessarily a bad thing
Love the chai taste of this with the pu-erh notes!
Of my first order this is my favorite. All the flavors come through. I enjoy Pu-Erh tea and this did not disappoint. Continue to only have good things to say about this tea. Love the mix of spice with the earthiness of this tea. My all time favorite.
This is a very nice and cozy tea with a nice spice aftertaste. It would be very easy to get my nose stuck in the bag from wanting to smell it all the time! So far I've tried this with a little brown sugar, and prefer it without milk.
i love spice teas and this is a particularly nice one.
This spicy milder tea is just perfect for a rainy afternoon. Sip it with a little sugar or honey and let the flavors delight your taste buds. I've been drinking this a little more often and like it best late in the day.
The citrus rind adds a little pep to this one.
Great spices and flavor. Pu-Er Spice is a great way to start the da.
Delicious. Loved it. Balanced and perfect combination of spices.
This tea is so comforting and delicious. It's much better than the chai tea.
Made tea for years for my British husband. Bagged Lipton, cream and sugar. Could never get on with it because of the aftertaste and seemed to upset my stomach. I am a French press coffee drinker who grinds their own beans and it took me years to get my coffee perfect. Now I am hooked on this tea and drink it with just a bit of sugar. It is wonderful in flavor from start to finish. Very happy.
The spicy flavor of the cinnamon mellows out nicely against the earthy flavor of the pu-erh tea. Then there is a hint of sweetness with the orange notes.
Warm, with a diverse blend of spices, it makes for a full-bodied blend that smells like the holiday season and baked desserts.
I have always been a fan of an orange spice tea but often ended up disappointed as I am not fond of “tangy” citrus flavors. This is the best orange spice tea, mellow orange with a warm blend of spices…. Yummy 😋
I ordered this one years ago and have missed it ever since. Perfect for when you need to add a little spice to your morning!
Warm and pleasantly spicy, with the earthy flavor of a good pu-erh. Good for more than one brew!
This tea makes a great replacement for a chai tea, if you are like me and prefer Pu-Erh teas over black teas.
Delicious! Hits me right in the spice obsession, good not-overwhelming flavor.
An ok tea. It s technically not a chai, but only clove comes through. @adagioteas
I haven't had a puer in a long time, and I am not exactly fond of the undertones of the tea, but I figure most of that is my own taste, not the tea itself. Was still very much worth the shot.
I enjoy spiced teas on occasion and this one would fit nicely into the collection. I really enjoy how subdued the spiciness is--it fills your nose right before the sip and there's a burst of flavor. This soon turns into a mellow cascade. It's really enjoyable whether you like pu-erh or not.
It's a very warming, earthy drink that FEELS medicinal? It doesn't taste bad by any means, but it tastes like something you'd be handed if you're feeling under the weather and it's cold out. Very nice.
This was good but theres definitely a flavor I didn't enjoy, it wasn't enough to dump the cup but weird. I did rinse and followed Jim's brewing tips so I know it was brewed correctly, theres just a weird flavor note.
Always an incredibly medicinal and delicious flavor in ginger and anise. I love the taste and the cleansing feel of teas like this.
There’s a nice earthy and smoky taste underneath the cinnamon and spices. The spices tingled on my tongue. Adding some cream smoothed out the spiciness nicely.
I didn't really care for the pu-erh base. It was a bit strange to me. The spices were nice and strong. I tasted the cinnamon and a hint of ginger. I didn't taste the orange or anise. Strangely, the tea tasted a bit smokey.
