A perfect blend of two kinds of teas my husband and I love. I like earthy and he likes fruity. This is a wonderful combination of both!
My favorite Pu-Erh by far; though the others are quite good as well. One that I keep coming back for.
This is a Very delicious pu-erh tea. My and my friend really enjoyed this one. My preference is with some milk and sugar
I love this blend! It’s the perfect mix of earthiness, nuttiness, and berry. This one is going in my regular rotation.
I think I would have liked this a little more if the strawberry flavor was a little stronger, but it's still a good tea overall. It's got a nice nutty flavor that works well with the natural earthy-ness of the pu-erh
This tea has been a godsend during my pregnancy. It’s soothing and gives me a much needed boost in the mornings.
Just the right balance between berry and hazelnut with this tea. So delicious! The puerh base gives it added depth with its dark and rich flavor.
I saw that many people said that this smells fishy. Now, for my opinion of this. I love it. My packages of this, the sample and the 16oz bag, did not have that fishy smell. It smelled pretty good.
Now for the flavor, that was amazing. The sample of this was excellent, I just had to have more. The way the flavor comes in at different points. For me, hazelnut is the first thing that one will notice. As the tea goes down, the flavors of strawberry and cream shine the most. It's more subtle and you might think ' where are those flavors at?' it's in the throat if that makes sense. I loved the ride of flavors as the tea went down. I'd recommend this tea to the highest of suggesting I can.
When I open the bag,the smell reminded me of chocolate bars with strawberry bits in them! While not in a bad way, when I tasted it,the flavor had a feel of lucky charm's marshmallows with hints of strawberries and tea!Not bad!Recommanded for people that looks for that types of flavors or maybe a different tea to drink during breakfast!
Edit: Just wanted to point out that it's been a week since I open the bag(I probably store my tea) and now that the main scent that I was smelling is sort of gone,I'm mainly tasting just the hazel nut part!If you like hazel nuts, you probably will like it but it's not for me I guess!(I think I wasn't exactly expecting it to be that present)
I'm new to the world of tea, but I do tend towards black teas. This Pu-Erh Hazelberry I picked up a sample of on a whim and it does not disappoint. Infinitely drinkable and smooth, especially sweetened with honey or sugar. This is one of my morning comfort picks when I have a busy day ahead.
I drink a LOT of tea (2-3 cups a day) and I have to say this is probably my all time favorite. I’ve got probably 70 teas in my cabinet and I’ve been ordering and drinking this one consistently for the last several years. It is honestly so rich and delicious. I find myself wanting it on a regular basis more than any others
Has a very pleasing flavor, fruity notes, and has a full body taste. I personally only steep one time. This was my first consistent use of Pu-Erh and I am pleased.
Cocoa, strawberries, hazelnut and cream is a very nice and flavorful combination that I enjoyed very much.
I love the deep flavor the Pu-Erh provides. Hazelnut is one of my favorite flavors in general and the berry adds a sweet note.
I like this tea very much! It’s a great drink for a cool winter day but I have also enjoyed it in the warm weather. It’s just a nice smooth blend with some nuttiness that is present but does not power over everything else.
This one is amazing as iced tea. I wasn't sure about the berry hazelnut combo but I'm glad I decided to try it. One of my new favorites. Currently working on my second bag.
For when you want to feel like you're drinking a hug in a cup. Not like a Chai hug that involves pats on the back, but a regular hug from a person you haven't seen since high school. It's bright, dare I say earthy, and is amazing hot or iced.
As with most pu-erh, this tea can be resteeped a couple of times and its character changes as you do. I steep the first time for only a minute or so, which makes a decently rich cup of tea. I let it steep longer for the second time (maybe 3 minutes) and even longer for a third. The hint of berry is not enough to identify as 'fruity' or 'berrylike' but gives this pu-erh a nicely unique flavor profile.
This has a very unique and creamy quality to it, unlike anything I've ever tried before
Fantastic tea! I didn't think I would enjoy this with its earthy qualities as I typically don't like earthy notes, but this is amazing!
This stuff is delightful, on the first steep, it has a musky/ sweet taste but as you keep adding water it ends up more musky.
I can't get enough of this tea!! I love it!! Will keep buying. I add a teaspoon of heavy cream and it was amazing!!
I love Pu-Erh tea anyway, and I was interested to see how this would taste. I only added hot water, no sweeteners and it's still delicious! It has definite hints of chocolate, and even though I'm not a big chocolate fan, it's just the right amount of chocolate and sweetness to enjoy like as an afternoon treat! I'm enjoying it instead of dessert and it's perfect!
Last time I bought this it smelled and tasted fishy it was gross. I read another reviewer saying they fixed that. So I decided to give it another try. I’m so glad I did. It’s now one of my favorites. I highly recommend giving it another try if you had the same fishy first experience I did, you won’t regret it.
Really tasty! Mostly the pu-ehr and nutty flavors with just enough berry flavor to add some sweetness. Also tasty with milk!
I guess when it comes to this type of tea, I'm still learning to enjoy the extremely earthy taste, I did a short rinse, but the flavors I got were earthy and nutty, no real berry flavor. I see tons of great reviews, this maybe one I just need to buy and experiment with. Not bad but not something I would drink often.
Pu erh isn't my favorite but this tea has a wonderful nuttiness and fruitiness to it that is delicious!
The flavour of the puerh overshadowed any fruit flavour for me
This is a nice chocolate and strawberry tea. I like it with a little sugar and milk. It’s a sweet treat!
Mellow and nutty with a pleasant sweetness. Earthy, but not overbearing.
i really liked this a lot more than i thought i would! the flavors worked really nicely together and reminded me of a creamy, fruity chocolate
I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this blend before, I love it. I just simply love all of Adagios puerh teas. Sometimes there’s not enough strawberry in my scoop, so I simply add more. The hazelnut is a smooth, light, nutty flavor, not overpowering at all. I have never needed a pre-rinse with this blend. No need to add sweetener but you can if your in the mood for a sweeter dessert tea. Never let my jar get completely empty of this one. (190° for 5 minutes)
The hazelnut did a decent job covering up the dreaded strawberry. Though there is still a strawberry aftertaste that I am not a fan of. All in all a nice tea, but probably wouldn't try again.
If Hazleberries exist then Snozzberries must also be a thing. Yay! This tea is hazelnut forward with a slight sweet tang from the strawberry and cocoa. The pu erh makes for an earthy base. No rinse for me but some do prefer that with pu erhs.
Something about this tea just didn't click with me. Maybe it was that the dry leaves smelled like certain Halloween cereals or maybe it was the candy-like strawberry flavoring. I could detect all the flavors - first hazelnut and then strawberry with increasing prominence as the brew cooled. Dark chocolate notes helped support these lighter, sweeter flavors on the earthy but oh-so-smooth pu-ehr. Still, the interplay between the candy-sweet strawberry and the earthy pu-ehr (which wasn’t fishy despite the lack of a rinse) just didn’t jive. Whatever it was, this tea left me underwhelmed. (4-5 minutes @ 212F)
This cup was good but not what I was expecting. I had a great pu-reh aroma but no strawberry at all when I opened the CT packet. I followed brewing instruction and had 3.25 g’s so 13 oz of water. The tea was good but no strawberry flavor to taste. Perhaps it was my packets draw but I was looking for some strawberry taste at least.
I’m in love with this tea! Rich, nutty with a smooth finish. Yum!
This tea was quite good. I have it a quick rinse just in case, and brewed it a little lower than recommended. It wasn’t bitter and had a nice hazelnut taste, with the strawberry more in the background.
This is a tasty Pu-erh blend. If you're not familiar with Pu-erh, the way it's fermented often brings about 'marine' notes. For fresh puck Pu-erhs a rinse will generally lessen any unpleasant flavors and aromas, but I find that Adagio's Pu-erh teas don't tend to need this, and I didn't bother to rinse this blend. The liquor has a roasty nutty flavor, and the strawberry brings some playful lightness to the sip. It's a good tea for re-steeping and is neigh impossible to overbrew.
The hazelnut and berry combination are a perfect match for the earthy pu-erh. No fishy aroma or taste noted (therefore, I don't rinse). I steep at 195F x 3 minutes. A small amount of sweetener brings out the strawberry and chocolate flavors, but it tastes great unsweetened as well. A nice tea for re-steeping, too.
I wasn't impressed with this one, but that may be because I've never been a fan of Hazelnut. Although this was not bitter, I sweetened it just to make it more pleasant to drink. Nothing bad about it; it just didn't excite me.
I don't like pu'erh 99% of the time, so if you're of similar tastebuds, this blend won't be able to win you over. To everyone else, it might be worth a try or reading the reviews of those who like pu'erh.
Even though my CommuniTEA packet didn't smell fishy, I still did a 15 second hot water rinse of my leaves. After pouring that water off and adding fresh, I let it steep. This tea has a nutty, slightly sweet earthiness to it. Delicious!
So grounding and savory. My tea was not heavy on the berry but was well rounded with some nuttiness. I will order this one!
2022-09-15 CommuniTEA Update:
The familiar scent of earthy Pu'er and hazelnut greeted me this mornafternoon (I'm on a flipped non-24 schedule). A 5 minute steep at 212°F created a nice rich cup of this Pu'er blend. The first sip wsa fresh, clean and bright with notes of creamy hazelnut, cocoa nibs, and a dash of strawberry. Still reminds me of French crêpes with Nutella! The finish was smooth and soft, as all the tannins had mellowed thanks to the Pu'er fermentation process. Still earthy nutty, and delicious!
2021-01-30 CommuniTEA Review:
We were excited to find a new hazelnut tea blend in our CommuniTEA packet this morning. Opening the packet gave out a scent like strawberry cream crêpes and hazelnut Nutella. This smelled surprisingly fresh and bright compared to most Pu'er teas. We didn't get any fishy or fermented scents from our packet of this Pu'er tea, so just went straight ahead into brewing.
Steeping the packet at 212° for 5 minutes made a wonderfully sandy brown tea. The first scents of a brewed cup still had a lot of berry goodness wafting up! The flavor was like a smooth and creamy hazelnuts with a hint of cocoa nibs. The berry aromas added a fruity note that blended well into the deeper Pu'er richness. Mouthfeel was smooth and soft, without many tannins at all. This tea, like many Pu'ers, could probably steep for much longer without becoming too bitter or astringent. The earthy and woody flavors from the Pu'er are pleasant and not overly strong.
This is a very mild and lively Pu'er blend that would go great as a brunch tea with berry waffles, or berry crêpes to accent and contrast the fruity flavors. It really reminded us of the smell of berry crêpes from one of our favorite brunch spots, from 'the before times', in years prior to COVID-19 lockdowns. This one is going on our list of favorite Pu'er blends!
Let me first say that I actively dislike hazelnut scented beverages. I had too much exposure to other people brewing hazelnut coffee at work sites back when it was fashionable. That said, I loved the taste of this tea. There was a little bit of hazelnut taste, a nice strong Pu’erh tea flavor and just a little bit of the strawberry flavor. I enjoyed two steeps at 200 degrees for 5 minutes with some rock sugar or honey. For the second cup I added just a little heavy cream. Delicious!
It was ok but I’m not a hazelnut fan and that all I taste didn’t taste any strawberries (212 @ 5 min.)
Was not sure what to think about this blend, but when I opened the packet I was pleasantly surprised! It smelled so good, and the steeped tea tasted just as great! Strawberry and hazelnut is a winning combination in my mind, now!
I was so worried about the strawberry in this tea, since we are not usually friends. But the pu-erh and hazelnut flavors is enough to push the strawberry to be just a gentle fruit note in the background. The combo of earthy pu-erh and nutty hazelnut is quite tasty!
