This is probably the best pu-erh tea to try if you're looking to start tasting them! It's lightly fruity with an earthy nuttiness that's absolutely delicous!

There was a blend at the old Adagio Chicago store that used Pu Erh and hazelnut that was lost. It was a favorite blend of mine this kinda reminds me of it.

CommuniTEA portion: Steeped at 195 for 5 minutes. Was not expecting to love this so much. Earthy, berry, creamy, lovely! So different than others I have tried lately but super yum!

A favorite of mine since I tried the pu-erh sampler and I still love it! Probably one of the best pu-erhs I've ever had - slightly fruity and pleasant flavor.

It’s hard to describe exactly how this tea tastes, but it’s certainly very good! It’s nutty and deep with the cream adding some sweetness. I want to say there are some cocoa notes, too? I’ll have to try some more and see if I can do better describing it.

At first, I was delighted with this brew- so weird, so fruity! But as it cooled it lost its charm and became very funky. I didn't rinse it before brewing though, hopefully one day I'll remember to do so! I'll chalk this up to user error, lol.

The earthiness of the pu-erh is a great base for the berry and hazelnut flavors. A very smooth yet rich cup of tea.

I always love the earthiness of puerh. Adding the flavors of berry, cream and hazelnut makes it a dessert-like treat! If you are puerh adverse because you find it “funky”, you need to try this blend. The funk has left the building! This is a warm, rich sip made even better by adding sweetener. I didn’t add any milk as directed but I bet it is delicious prepared that way too! Happy Sipping!

I added 1.5 tsp of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 200° F. I steeped my tea for 5 minutes.

I noted a nice combo of nutty flavors with the strawberry. I tend to enjoy both of these flavors, so, even upon first sipping, I took this to be a good sign. Further sips made me feel almost like I was enjoying a creamy chocolate strawberry with just a hint of nuttiness. Or maybe like the strawberries were dipped in nutellla. If I had not seen the ingredient list, I probably would have assumed that this tea was a mate

UPDATED 9-15-22: Today's CommuniTEA is Pu-Erh Hazelberry. Upon opening my packet, I had mostly tea and basically no strawberry, cocoa nibs, or anything else. The 1st thing I did, recommended by Ruth (thank you, Ruth!) was rinse the tea! Then I added my own strawberry, cocoa nibs, and even some chocolate honey. I tried really hard to stick to the correct brew time because I have found this tea to be finicky. Between today's cup and a previous cup of this I had had with burdock and black tea honey (although it was a little bland that way), I will upgrade my review to 5 stars. This tea simply requires being rinsed before brewing and between accenting the flavors that already exist in it and adhering strictly to the brewing time, it makes a great tea. I would now recommend this tea!

ORIGINAL: I brewed the Pu-Erh Hazelberry with some mango, orange peels, valerian, and fruit tisanes honey, but for some reason not only was it very bland, but it also had a stinky smell to it. I am not sure if something happened to my batch of tea or if it is supposed to be stinky, but it was almost unbearable to sit next to. I don't think I would recommend this tea.

This is delicious. I love the taste of hazelnut and it shines here. The strawberry adds another dessert like level to this. Interesting and good flavors. Will get this again.

I was looking forward to trying this tea because I enjoy strawberry and chocolate, but all I really tasted was the hazelnut which I don’t really enjoy. This would be a great tea for hazelnut lovers.

It’s an okay cup. I’m totally missing any hints of strawberry or cream. The hazelnut steals the show.

Recommended steep: 212*F for 5 minutes. I steeped @200*F for 5 minutes in about 11 oz of water with 1.5 tsp of rock/ tea sugar.

Smells really good upon opening the packet, but I can't quite identify what I'm smelling, maybe chocolate, or strawberry? Or a combination of the two? While steeping there is no real aroma to speak of. When the tea is hot, a nutty flavor predominates. I'm not sure exactly what else I'm tasting...chocolate and maybe a bit of strawberry? Whatever it is, it's good. As the tea cools everything seems to blend together beautifully. I think the cream pulls all the flavors together for a smooth cuppa with a slight, pleasant aftertaste. This is an enjoyable blend that I wouldn't mind purchasing again. 4 stars

Nice nutty flavor with just a hint of strawberry. I didn’t taste the cocoa nibs which I was okay with. I don’t usually like chocolate teas.

UPDATED from 1/30/21: There is no fishy smell coming from the CommuniTEA packet, or when the leaves are covered with hot rinse water, so I continue to add the rest of the water and steep it (at a slightly lower temp than recommended). The leaves unfurl and create a deep scarlet tea. The nutty, full bodied pu-erh acts as host, and politely introduces hazelnut to my tongue. After bustling around, the two carry on a spirited discussion. Malty dark chocolate approaches, adding his two cents worth and lingering at the finish of sentences. I introduce them all to ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) and suddenly strawberry quietly approaches to greet us. She says very little, but helps keep the conversation lively. A good time is had by all, but especially me. I enjoy four steeps of this tea, but the first two are the best. ( 5 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener).

Adagio quality ALWAYS amazes me. I had been giving some Pu-erh tea at a friend's house, and decided to buy some the next time I ordered. Adagios tea is SO much more rich and flavorful! I am going to gift some of this to that friend, to show her what Pu-Erh is SUPPOSED to taste like, lol

Very earthy and strong. I am glad I tried this one but I will probably not be getting it again. I would have liked a stronger hazelnut flavor.

★★★★☆

Lots of hazelnut with some sweetness and a little bit of berry tang in the background. There is a mild earthiness from the pu-erh. Adding a little sugar makes this more of a dessert tea, and milk or cream goes well with it but it is also good without. Very smooth, no astringency or bitterness. To my taste, this pu-erh did not need a pre-rinse.

I'm not going to review this too harshly because I am aware it is an acquired taste now, but I will say that having experienced it I am not interested in acquiring this taste. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I certainly wasn't expecting it to smell like a disused basement. Again, my bad for not looking further into it before trying it, just figure I should warn newcomers to Pu-erh like myself about the risks inherent with the new experience. (Cold brewed for 10 hours)

It is not my favorite but perhaps it is something to acquire a taste for. Time will tell

It's good Pu-erh, but I'm not finding the hazelberry to be bringing too much here. Maybe I need to try some different steeping methods

this tea is very tasty! i ended up brewing quite a few batched both iced and hot, but i think it was best iced. the berry flavor helps brighten the tea a lot!

Oh wow! This tea is a new top choice for me. My acupuncturist recommended trying Pu-erh, when I mentioned missing tea (currently 8 months pregnant and very caffeine sensitive). This tea is absolutely delicious! The hazelnut and berry flavors come through, along with the light sweetness of cream. This will be in my repurchase rotation for sure.

I had high expectations for this one, especially when I opened the bag and smelt the fragrant hazel. Unfortunately, the taste fell short and not tasting like a pu-erh at all. It lacked any true body of flavor and only had a pungent hazel taste. I grew up with pu-erh teas so this was a disappointment but this experience will not deter me from trying other flavors!

★★★★★

This is so unique! It makes an awesome Iced tea (I used it to make bubble tea too), but is delicious hot as well. I've found that it is hard to over-steep this one, which is great. I love the extra flavor of a longer brew

This is my year-round go-to morning tea. I cannot tell you how much I love this tea. I order it by the pound and when the bag is emptied into the tin, I order another pound, because I never want to run out.

Wow! The aroma is captivating and the flavor has a hint of creamy fruit and earthiness. By itself or with a bit of unsweetened almond milk and a few drops of honey and it makes me happy.

I read the raving reviews for this flavored Pu-Erh and decided I had to try some for myself! I was jumping with excitement at the thought of trying this new exotic tea. However, the strawberry and creme flavorings ruined this tea's drinkability in my opinion. Albeit, I infrequently drink flavored teas. The flavoring of this Pu-Erh could be smelled on the dry leaves and had me excited at first but when brewed, all of the strong strawberry scent penetrated the tea as if I were drinking a perfume laced drink. I could not taste the tea at all, only the strong flavorings that went with it. I was expecting the Pu-Erh being the star of the show but it was the strawberry and other flavors which were the strongest.. This tea may be appropriate for fans of tisanes, and other herbal or flavored teas. But if you are not accustomed to regularly drinking teas with strong flavorings added I would recommend you not start with this Pu-Erh and get an unflavored one instead. I regret purchasing this tea as it was undrinkable. I managed to swallow my first sip but couldn't swallow my second sip. Adjusting the brew time between cups made no difference.

I just hated this tea. I couldn't drink it. Not what I expected. Just me though as I love Pu-erh teas just too fruity for me.

For those coffee drinkers who say they can’t get into tea, this is the tea to widen their mind and palate. Or if you’re looking for a coffee replacement, this is the tea for the task! It smells heavenly. Tastes great. Finishes nicely. Packs a punch. Top it off with a splash of milk or cream. No sweetener needed.

This Pu-Erh Hazelberry blend is a great place to start your journey tasting pu-erh tea, if you've never tried it. This combination has a sweet berry flavor against the earthy, nutty, almost dark chocolate like notes of the black tea. It is delicious! Sip, sip away!

My favorite tea from my order and will definitely be ordering more than a sample next. I prefer sweet tea, and this was good even without sugar with its natural sweetness. It does also go great with sugar and a splash of milk. So many ways to drink it!

I'm not sure what I was expecting here, but the hazelnut comes through a bit stronger than I would've liked. The flavor is still good, but was hoping for earthiness and a little more funk. Will probably be trying the Dante or Poe once this bag runs out.

I have never purchased pu-erh before this. There was always something that made me just a little uncomfortable. I don't know why, as I appreciate aging in other things. I just didn't associate it as a good thing with tea. After reading other reviews how the Hazelberry flavoring made this a great entry point to the world of pu-ehr, I decided to give it a try and what a pleasant surprise. The earthy taste that I feared was so smooth and complex and the berry flavor was just right--very noticeable in the aromas, but not overdone on the taste. Pleasing and very enjoyable. This was a great entry point and I will soon finish my sample pack and will certainly reorder a full pack. I am also intrigued to open my taste experiences to other pu-ehr teas. This opened up a new world for me. A very smooth and enjoyable drink.

A tasty dessert tea with nutty, caramelized notes like a fresh waffle cone. Strawberry is lighter and creamy -- not the tart, Juicy berry note you might find in an iced tea. Hot tea takes well to milk and sugar but is also great as is.

This is a nice tea and I like it, but I think I like the pu-erh chorange better. T

A good introduction to pu-erh tea, but I found that the flavor kind of blended together a little too much to something that wasn't distinguishable.
