I think that I like this tea because I love coffee, but to tell you the truth it does taste like mud.

Definitely not my favorite, but I did like the way it felt. It is very 'earthly' and it wouldn't be for everyone, but I wasn't disapointed that I tried it.

im new to tea, this is the first tea ive actually enjoyed hot. i normally drink my tea cold but i havent tried this one cold yet.

This tea is very different and worth trying for a tea lover. I recommend it.

This tea is quite uniqe i did not get the full kick out of it since it's really diffrent from other tea's but if you want to try something new you should buy a sample.

Rather smokey, probably a matter of personal taste. My tastes tend to run more towards the Yunnans and English Breakfasts.

This was a pretty mild yet very enjoyable pu erh. I'd buy it again.

Not awful, but not my favorite either. Definitely has that earthy 'dirt' flavor to it. Worth a try anway, but make sure to get the sample first.

All I can say is that it tastes exactly as it smells- like a stable.

I didn't like this. I tried to drink it at least half a dozen times, but I just couldn't get in to it. And it gave me a headache. I have a friend who loves it, so I'm sure it's not a TERRIBLE tea, but it just didn't work for me. I am definintely a green girl. :)

yum. I like pu erh, so this hits the spot. I didn't find this drastically different than the one i get in the store near me, but my bf did...

Just as expected. Good, solid Pu Erh flavor and very pleasant aroma to match.

I was careful to brew the tea for just the 5 minutes as suggested and was rewarded with a pleasantly smokey,inviting and unique cup of tea. Glad I got 10 oz. Mary Jane

This is a great black tea. It's earthy and full bodied. It's the perfect pix-me-up in the morning!

Easily the worst tea I've ever had--but I don't like Pu erh, so nothing against Adagio. Nobody is lying when they tell you that it tastes like dirt.

I love this tea. It is very complex and has a wonderful aroma. Earthy is the dominant flavor and aroma. I found it to be full bodied and could steep many cups from the same searving. Highly reccomended.

The flavor is a little earthy but add some decaf lemon or straight black tea and it mellows right out. Great for losing weight too!

This must be an aquired taste. Tasted almost 'mushroomy' to me.

I LIKE Pu-Erh tea, and this, sadly, has been so blended, or just not processed long enough, that it just isn't a good version of this tea. Pu-Erh should be very strong and have a distinct aroma, this does not. I do not advise anyong buying this tea.

I enjoy this tea morning or evening. My husband is enjoying our tea samples and especially remarked on this ones good flavor.

This great full bodied tea has nice earthy tones that mellow into a nice finish.

Like everyone else said- TRY A SAMPLE FIRST! It is definitely a love or hate tea. We love the earthy taste of it

This is a wonderful dinner tea! Very earthy and just an all around good black tea. Highly recommended.

An excellent tea with an earthy, smoky initial taste followed by a sweet aftertaste. I take this tea at least twice a day.

Imagine an Earl Grey flavored with fish oil rather than bergamot. I believe there may be some truth to the dietary claims. After half a cup, it seemed to act as a laxative.

I don't think I've acquired the taste for this - the flavor reminded me of an old shoe.

This was very mellow, more so then i expected, i pretty much like any grade of Pu-Erh, so this was no exception.

Not good. It tasted and smelled like burnt wood or burnt leaves. Strange.

A very earthy tea. Not one I would want a steady diet of but good for the occassional change of pace.

Tastes a little like a forest floor. I haven't decided whether this is a good or bad thing... I adive people to try a samnple before purchacing a larger tin if they are unsure of earthy tastes.

Reminds me of the hay at the bottom of a crate of 30-year duck eggs or the musty smell at the back of a Chinese dried foods store. I like 30-year old eggs, but if I drank it every day, I would deserve to live to be 100.

Takes a little getting used to. Very earthy,with definate smokey tones. I'd recomend the sample size first... I'd also recomend that you try it more than once as it is quite different from other black tea.

Smelled tuna fish like. I couldn't get past the fishy smell.

Does not have a smooth and rich taste of Pu-erh that I had tried before

I really thought I'd like this, but I don't. I'm a Lapsang Souchong fan, though I haven't yet tried Adagio's, and I thought this would be similar, but it has a greenish, weedy taste that I wasn't expecting. Oh well.

I really like this tea more than most. It has a different flavor than other black teas. I will order it again, but in a larger container.

I really enjoy this one! The pu erh has a strong taste which I like with dinner.

Great tea for recovering coffee addicts. Meaty, chewy, earthy, slightly smoky. Not a hint of that sweet, tannin-y 'tea' taste that will just never compare to a roasty cup of joe. Packs more of a caffeine punch than most teas too.

WOW! I have enjoyed every single black tea I have ordered from Adagio, can't recommend the company highly enough. Having said that, I can't stand this particular tea. HIGHLY recommend sampler size here if you haven't tried this one.

This tea has grown on me slowly. At first I wasn't crazy about its smokey flavor, but now don't mind drinking it as a strong 'wake me up in the morning brew.'

I like this tea, rich and earthy, i wish adagio had more pu erh teas, everyone should TRY this tea.

I think the Adagio recommendation is dead on - try the sample first. I rated this tea 'ok' because, although I found the taste not to my liking, it is unique - and I was warned!

Definitely a very strong, earthy tea, reminds me of the kind that is compressed into cubes.

cup'o'dirt as i and my friends have come to affectionatly call it. It is unique and i actually enjoy it when im in the right mood(and water it down enough) Not bad, just VERY different in smell(kinda like a mossy wet forest of drit sorta smell)
