I absolutely love the flavor combination of this tea. This tea is one of my go-to breakfast teas.
Rich chocolate and sweet orange with pu erh for a festive treat.

I absolutely love the flavor combination of this tea. This tea is one of my go-to breakfast teas.
This tea was lovely and very smooth. The flavors can be a little subtle, but delicious nonetheless!

My favorite. Honestly. I love having this tea in my home. The smell is so nice after I've washed it and it ends up having this lovely earthy flavor that is accented perfectly by the orange.
This tea smells nice, and I like that it doesn't get bitter if you steep extra time, but it carries some of the fishy undertones that other Pu-erh teas have too.
I start each morning with this fantastic beverage. Be adventurous and add steamed milk for a delightful Latte. The aroma is worth getting up for and the caffeine is just right to start the day
Complex, but not too earthy. This one brings back memories of the whack and unwrap oranges sold every Christmas. Enjoyed with a bit of soy milk.
I love orange flavored chocolate so this tea is very tasty
A great blend. I usually steep it at 210 degrees for about six minutes, which may seem a bit longer than usual to most. I like the balance of the orange in it. I usually put about 1/4 teaspoon of turbinado sugar per cup (or I use about 3 sugar rock crystals) for about six ounces of tea.
Maybe my favorite tea I’ve had yet from adagio. Smooth, chocolate without tasting artificial, orange lifts perfectly. YUM
This is one of my favorite teas! Good for satisfying my craving for chocolate without all the calories!
I had this ttea before and wasn't fond of it. This time I am totally in love with it. Maybe my CommuniTea packet had a better balance this time.
This is a great combination of chocolate and orange!
I really liked this one. The citrus was weaker than expected, but it had a really nice cocoa flavor that wasn’t too chocolatey.
I'm not generally a pu-erh or chocolate tea fan but the smell was amazing and it wasn't as fishy as I'm used to pu-erh being!
I liked this one a lot. the smell was lovely, the taste was great, both straight and with some sugar. Thinking about adding it to my cart
This blend had such warm chocolatey goodness. I felt instantly transported to playing in Fall leaves and sipping on the front porch.
CommuniTEA portion: Steeped 4 minutes at 195. Absolutely loved this tea. The smoothest black tea with lovely notes of orange and chocolate. So reminded me of Year of the Tiger, which is one of my favorites. Fantastic tea!
I love the chocolate and orange in this tea, it’s well balanced. It brews rather dark, even in the three minutes I gave it, but did not get bitter.
Update CT 9-3-22: I had this tea in the December CommuniTEA and just loved it. Nothing has changed. This is an amazing tea that deserves to be in my tea stash always. Chocolaty-orange goodness. My 5 star rating remains.
Wonderful aromas wafted out of this packet upon opening, strong aromas of chocolate and orange. Wow!
All the ingredients appeared to be present, but I was surprised that it wasn’t as sweet as I expected it to be upon first taste. At first I thought it was because I used less tea sugar than normal, but upon setting, the sugar and the flavors really worked together to make this a most enjoyable cuppa. Once it had set a little, it tasted like one of those sectional chocolate orange ball candies that are sold at Christmas time. So good.
I steeped for 5 minutes @212* in 12 oz of water. I used tea sugar to sweeten.
Puerh is definitely an earthy tea. Sometimes even fishy (but not this blend). Super smooth and almost reminiscent of coffee. The chocolate and tangy citrus really come through but the cup on a whole remains smooth and mellow. This is one of my favorite blends and I save it for the cooler months. It takes to resteeping as well, you'll loose a lot of the chocolate flavor but the tea shines through and holds up for a second cup.
I am a huge fan of pu-erh tea, and this tea achieves the perfect blend of chocolate and orange (not too much of each, with the orange being a bit subtle perhaps).
This was a tea I was dying to try so I'm super happy it was included in the communiTEA this month! It's a light orange and chocolate tea with some earthy flavor from the pu-erh. I think this is a great fall tea and I'll be picking up more of it for sure!
This tea has a lovely chocolate-orange smell and flavor, with the richness of pu-erh underlying it. None of the flavors are overwhelming. When hot, it is delicious, well-balanced and smooth. As it cools the chocolate comes more to the forefront. I enjoyed this most with no additions, I found that sugar gave it a more syrupy orange flavor. 4 min @ 200
I love this tea! Such a nice blend with none of the flavors hogging the spotlight. I’m very happy to add this to my list of “two thumbs up” teas. I brewed it at 195F for 3 minutes. It’s a winner!
This was a very well done mix of chocolate and orange. Pu-erh isn’t my first pick but it went well here. I will say that a second steep did not work at all (even 1/2 sized).
The orange comes through the cooler it gets, whereas the chocolate is a constant the whole way through. However, it helped me realise I'm not partial towards pu-erh, which is a shame.
I am now in love with pu-erh- at first sip! I adore this deep grounded earthy flavor. My packet was light on orange and chocolate, but there was enough for me to get the idea. It's also possible that my mind and taste buds were just too fascinated by the pu-erh. The caffeine feels nice and smooth as well... no jitters but I am working at lightning speed, in a relaxed way. This one is now on my wishlist!
So good, like the tea version of those whack and unwrap chocolate oranges.
Interesting orange pu erh tea reminiscent of the year of the tiger blend but with pu erh flavor... I don't taste a lot of chocolate but that's ok, it's still a tasty treat!
UPDATED 9-3-22: Today's CommuniTEA is Pu-erh Chorange. I have had this tea quite a few times and absolutely love it! Some of the best combinations I found are:
Orange Peels and Rock Sugar.
Burdock and Black Tea Honey.
Eucalyptus and Black Tea Honey.
Valerian with some extra Black Tea Honey.
And even Cocoa Nibs, Orange Peels, and Rock Sugar.
Upon opening today's packet, I had a decent amount of tea with the blue flowers, but added some orange peels, cocoa nibs, and rock sugar to really boost the flavors. As usual, it was absolutely delicious. I even use this tea in quite a few of my Pure Pu-erh blends. I highly recommend this tea!
ORIGINAL: I brewed my Pu-Erh Chorange with an extra scoop of orange peels and a scoop of rock sugar. It was fantastic! Nice and sweet. Fair warning - orange peels can be bitter so be careful how much you add (if any). This tea is really great though and I look forward to drinking more of it!! I would definitely recommend this tea!!!
This was my first time trying pu-erh tea and this was a great introduction. Chocolate flavored teas have been kind of hit or miss in the past, but this one actually tasted chocolately even without sweetener. The orange also came through beautifully and there’s a dark woodsy taste that blends them together nicely which I assume is the pu-erh. Despite being high caffeine, it doesn’t have the tongue-drying effect that I get from a lot of black teas. I’ll definitely be trying more of this type of tea.
UPDATED from 12/7/20: The sweet smell of orange and dark chocolate greets my nose when the CommuniTea packet is opened. There are MANY delicious looking items in this tea. There is no fishy smell, so I immediately steep (at a slightly lower temp). The color is a bold amber and the smell is earthy, of wood and hay. However, the flavor is a nutty, orange and chocolate delight. Love the full body of the pu-erh, and it is the perfect set up for the sweeter orange and chocolate. Add some sweetener (¼ teaspoon to 10 oz) and some heavy whipping cream, and this is a dessert tea. Since it is high in caffeine, it is better to drink early in the day. It tastes so good, though, even as it cools, so sadly the cup is empty too soon! I am glad I have more of this in my cupboard. (5 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener and cream).
I enjoyed this simple pu-erh blend. The orange flavor was detected and blended very nicely with the chocolate notes. It reminded me of a chocolate orange creme confection. Happy sipping!
Excellent orange truffle taste. Surprised how much I like this. A nice fall sipper.
This was a deliciously smooth blend! I am not usually a chocolate orange fan but this one did not disappoint. Added sweetener to enhance the flavors.
Today's cup was really good. Smooth and rich from the pu-erh and the chocolate. Those two are made for each other! I still didn't care for the orange flavoring, but it didn't seem so strong this time.
Dec 7th '20 - The pu-erh tea is very soft, smooth and tasty here. I got a nice aroma of chocolate, but very little taste of it. The orange aroma and taste were nice, but the orange flavoring leaves an artificial after taste for me. Tried adding a bit of honey to round it off, but it only enhanced the orange flavoring. Still a nice cup though.
This smells just divine!
An ambrosia that’s all mine!
The flavors just shine!
I'll take the chor-ance
You cannot chor-ange my mind!
I chor-oose this tea ;)
(Haiku Review)
CommuniTea: My packet appeared to have all the items. The flavors were subtle and not intrusive. Would try again.
Upon opening the packet, I noted a mild aroma of oranges.
I added 2.5 tsp of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 200° F. I steeped my tea for 5 minutes.
I found this tea pleasant, if a bit weak while it was hot. It reminded me ever-so-slightly of a chocolate orange. As the tea cooled, though, the flavor blossomed and I could imagine that I was eating (okay, drinking) a Terry’s chocolate orange.
This very enjoyable tea is a 4.5 to 5 star rating for me.
This is a delightful blend of pu-erh, orange, and cocoa nibs. The flavors both speak for themselves individually and play well together in the cup.
I really like this tea. I am surprised because I usually don’t care for chocolate teas. This tea has the perfect blend of ingredients giving it a smooth, well balanced flavor. I really enjoy the addition of the orange. It adds a nice dimension.
Good, but not quite my cup of tea. The tea itself is bold, dark, and robust, but I found the chocolate and orange flavors to be lacking.
So far, this is the only Pu-Erh blend I have been able to finish a whole cup of. The chocolate and orange notes overpowered the earthiness of the Pu-Erh base. It smelled like a cup of those chocolate oranges that abound during the holiday season. Not unpleasant, but not for me.
My very favorite of all the Adagio teas I've tried. Perfect blend. Be forewarned that once you discover and explore pu'erh teas, you may find black tea falls far short.
A nice flavor for morning wake up! I like that it has full body which I prefer in the mornings
It is a very pleasant tea. I prepared it like I do chai teas. I am curious to try it without cream and sugar.
The perfect chocolate orange blend. I don’t typically like this combo, however this tea won me over!
I love the way that Pu-Erh teas make me feel! There is something about the way the caffeine hits , totally different from other teas. The chocolate orange is mild and the Pu-Erh is earthy in this one. I love it!
This is one of those teas I've had several times and every time it tastes different. Orange is prominent in the initial sip, but the rich mellow puerh becomes more pronounced the more you drink it. If you're new to puerh, this is a good introduction before diving straight into the flavor of earthy oak compost. I've only brewed it western style so far, but it would be interesting to see how it would taste brewed in a Gaiwan.
