Interesting. This liquor has a very nice brown color. Upon drinking, it has a very strange, tight mouthfeel: not smooth; astringent, but also there is something else, a brightness under the soft palate which wanes with later steepings. It has a warm flavor, very unique, which occurs nearly entirely in the back of the mouth: nutty, not sweet, not black, not green; I would almost say sour. That's not bad though; it's only the typical complexity of oolongs; it's a flavor not to be simply taken, but explored. (The flavor cools and dims with later steepings, picking up more sweetness and a floral note.) It certainly has me thinking of a rainy day in the mountains.
Preparation: I've done it a few ways but I think I like this most recent way the best: A tablespoon and a pinch of tea per four to six ounces of water, just under boiling, for 1, 1, 2, 4, and 8 minutes.

Very good. Nice interesting flavors. Seems like 2nd steep tastes even better than first.

A very funky flavor. If you are into the different complexities and are really trying to find a diverse and interesting selection of Oolong teas, then this is a great tea to try. I was looking for something more standard and every day, which this is not.

Decent oolong. Couldn't get a ton of flavor out of it.

This is a lovely oolong! It's very smooth - I usually drink it at work, and get at least two steepings out of each batch.

A wonderful everyday oolong, definitely one I hope to keep in stock to enjoy midmorning on a cloudy day.

not my favorite oolong tea. it has a but too much flowery aroma and taste for my liking.

Good through multiple brewings. It retained it's earthy oolong tones even on the third brew. Am considering buying more once the sample is out.

Great 1st and 2nd steep. I just have a sample tin, but I will probably buy a larger one when I run out. I used a little bit of Splenda and it came out wonderful. It's still a great tea without any sweetner. I thought it tasted better and better as the cup cooled down.

I really wasn't a fance of this hot or iced. Left a pitcher in my refrigerator and the fact that my roommates never finished it means it must have been bad!

This oolong works well over multiple steeps. It's one of the better oolongs at adagio.
★★★★☆
This was my first oolong tea. Somewhat smokey and earthy flavor. An enjoyable tea that led me to try out other oolongs such as #18 and #8.

Great initial taste. As it sits, it becomes weaker.

My favorite oolong, I absolutely love the barky-earthy taste.

Wuyi Ensemble - This is the Oolong I've been looking for! Over multiple steeps this tea consistently offered great flavors and beautifully colored liquor. The smell of this tea, steeped and dry, is great. I think I might have to get a larger tin! I had pretty good results using the Gongfu method of brewing as well as the good old 5 minute steep. Wuyi Ensemble is definitely worth a try.

I'm still searching for that perfect dark oolong. To me, this one draws a lot of comparisons to Oolong #8. At first I thought I liked it a bit more, but the more I drink both of them, I feel that the #8 has a slightly sharper flavor that appeals to me more.

I don't think this is one of adagios most popular teas, but I love it. one of my favorite oolongs. As with any oolong, you can definitely get multiple steepings out of it, so price is a little deceiving.

This one is subtle. A light orange in the cup, with classic oolong crispness and flavor. A bit light, but I guess that's just its nature.

This was my first Oolong, and it had to grow on me. A strong roasted taste, it's a great alternative to my black teas. I'm ordering a tin, and has intersted me in trying other oolongs.

This is my favorite oolong tea from adagio. It is right in the middle between a black and a green tea. It also has big full leaves that are really fun to watch come to life in the tea pot.

I love this tea. Only one thing when making it.. I don't use too much. It will make it more of a stronger taste, unless you like it that way.
★★★★★
There's just a hint of smoke set off by a natural sweetness. Very good.

At first I didn't know if I would like this because I smelled a hint of chocolate which does not come thorugh once you steep it. As others have said there is a buttery taste which I really enjoyed. Even after the third brew, the tea was still very smooth and full of flavor. It's a keeper!

I have minimal experience with Wuyi, but I enjoyed the flavor and aroma very much. My preference is for Oolong 8 or 40, but I did like it.

This is a nicely balanced wuyi for everyday consumption.

This is my overall favorite tea so far! A little bit smokey, a little bit buttery, and has just a taste of floral undertones. The second steep is great as well.

It's a decent tasting oolong. Nothing special, I probably won't order it again.

My new favorite oolong. This smokey tea has a bold flavor that comes out even with a small amount in brewing. Tastes great even after 3 brews.

This review is based purely on my tastes and I'm not sure if it is actually a bad tea. I am fairly new to teas and have an untrained palate, but it tasted mostly like butter. So much so that I almost threw up.

I've forgetten quite what this tasted like since my sample ran out, but it was among the oolongs that I liked (which is, I suppose, almost all of them). Luxuriosly big leaves - I let them fill up the whole teapot and then pour it through an infuser into my cup.

Love, love, love! It has a fairly sweet taste. I'll order again.

First time tasting wuyi and I have to say its pleasent introduction to wuyi. It tastes like oolongs are supposed to taste. Smooth and mellow. Good starting point into the world of Wuyi.

Out of a fairly large sample kit, this one ran out first by a long stretch. I am not a big fan of tea, as I am trying to drink less coffee. The Wuyi was a perfect blend of black and green tea. It had a very mild aromatic smell and flavor. I would definitely say add this to any sampler pack as it has become a definite favorite in my collection, Dragonwell is a second place.

Typical olong but i dont think this tea is special in any way most likely will not reorder.

I like this oolong so much. It has all the smoothness and subtle depth I want from an oolong, and the leaves are really quite pretty once they've been stteped. It's major shortcoming is that I am reluctant to make a pot of it for fear of no longer having the option to make a pot of it. Now, that's not really the tea's fault, so +5 all the way.

This tea was a my introduction to the wonderful world of wuyi. A nice combination w/great flavor.

Similar to pouchong. I prefer most of the other oolongs to this tea, but it's still a good quality oolong.
★★★☆☆
This teas has more of a green taste than #40 or #8. I prefer the darker taste of #40 and #8. Those who like greener tastes should enjoy this tea more than I.

I brewed my sample of WuYi ensemble for the purpose of making iced tea and added just a hint of sweetness with stevia. This is my first time trying Wu Yi. It's very tasty. Not as smokey and pungent as green tea. It makes a nice cup of iced tea with a mellow flavor.

very oxidized and dark, make sure you use boiling water for this one

A fairly complex tea, the second and third steep seem to hold the most sensation. Wouldn't say it's the best, just don't think it's a tea for everybody, try a sample first.

I find this tea strong. If brewed too long it can taste quite bitter.

It was nice to get to sample these Wu Yi teas, though I must say I prefer Adagio's Ti Kuan Yin and Pouchong oolongs.
★★★★★
Wonderfully flavorful tea! The best part was when my 23 yr old son asked for a cup and we had a nice moment at the kitchen table drinking our tea and laughing about life. Priceless!
★★★★☆
Very nice tea, this has been my daily tea for the last two months, second only to Oolong #18 in my book as favorite my favorite Oolong tea from Adagio.

A nice mix between the strong flavor of black and the milder greens and whites.

This is really smooth. I really like it because it's not too strong, but not weak either.
★★★★☆
A good but not great Wu Yi, but nicely priced - some of these teas are very expensive. Try if you like more oxidized oolong with spicy-woody tastes, rather than floral-fuity types.

not bad, no smokeyness which was nice, but not enough flavor.

I had some trouble brewing this one, maybe a little light for my taste.
