Complex taste - subtle sweetness and smokiness. Not as smoky as other Wuyis which is nice (I am not a huge fan of smoky teas). Overall, a nice oolong but not my most favorite.
Oolong from the WuYi Mountains in Fujian, China. Savory aroma, roasted vegetables. Faint pit-fruit notes. The honey-floral flavor and nutty, with white sesame, sweetened burdock root (fans of Japanese sweets, anyone?) or barley is satisfying and hearty.

Complex taste - subtle sweetness and smokiness. Not as smoky as other Wuyis which is nice (I am not a huge fan of smoky teas). Overall, a nice oolong but not my most favorite.
I decided to fill in an order and purchased a sample of this Oolong. It's the first time I tried an Oolong. I like it so much I'm ordering it in bulk!
This was a nice earthy blend. Was not bitter at all even after a third infusion!
If you like strong green teas I would give this a try. The roasted vegetable flavor described above is great and there is a sweetness to it I love. Some days I find myself Torn between the Wuyi and the Gunpowder. If that ends up being the hardest decision of the day it was a very good day.
If you like green oolong this is a perfect tea for you to try. The flavor is there and it does not get lost when you blend it. All in all one of my favorite green oolongs.
Makes a pretty, medium amber color after steeping--reminds me of 'ooooh darjeeling,' my favorite oolong from Adagio, but not quite as strong. A great everyday oolong (try serving it with food!), smack dab in the middle between black and green.
Awesome...good looking procuct...worthy of purchase
tastes great, and can be used for multipl infusions without losing too mucj flavor
As someone relatively unfamiliar with oolong teas, I'd say this tea is not worth the high cost. It tastes like high quality oolong, but my palate is not sophisticated enough to appreciate it.
Another decent, but not great tea. Enough flavor without being over powering.
A decent oolong tea. It has a bit of a nutty flavor to it.
Dark golden colored tea. Tastes nutty, grainy and slightly sweet. I love this tea. One of my favorites.
My very favorite oolong tea, I was wonderfully surprised at its full-bodied flavor.
Hate to say it gang, but higher price does not mean better tea. This Wuyi Ensemble blows away it's more expensive cousing Wuyi Da Hong. From this day forth I renounce Wuyi Da Hong as an elitist tea!
We have been drinking this tea faithfully every week for two years now. My husband takes this to his sifu on training days and he loves it as well. Says it reminds him of 'home'. That's got to be a good endorsement!
A case study showing that wuyi tea reduces the risk of heart attack, protects against cancer, strengthens bones and protects against tooth plaque and decay. Drinking wuyi tea from 3 to 6 times in week enhances the function of fat metabolism and controlling obesity. I love this tea
My favorite tea. It's just perfect and I love the loose tea bags. I order this one often.
A very good everyday oolong. My second favorite oolong from Adagio so far. Long robust leaves. Good for multiple steepings.
Wonderful tea, great body and flavor. Perhaps not an everyday tea for me, but very enjoyable.
This is my favorite tea ever! Earthy, strong, and clean. Really couldn't ask for more.
This is a basic restaurant style Oolong, don't get me wrong this is a good thing. This tea was good and simple it didn't jump out of the cup and it didn't sit there either, it was a very good Oolong.
One of my favorite oolong teas! Sweet, fruity-flowery flavor, combines very well with honey or milk.
More vegetal than I expected, but enjoyable. Kind of spinachy.
Not my favorite, but I think this tea is quite nice.
This Wuyi is a bit of a plain oolong, but still has a nice smooth flavor. It falls somewhere in between the 'black' oolongs and 'green' oolongs. It only has a mild earthy flavor. Not as many taste notes as the Dancong Aria (not as expensive either), but is still a good oolong. I can usually get two good steeps out of it which adds to its value.
Still my absolute favorite. I'm going to setup a recurring order for this one!
One of my favorite teas - yum! I like to brew it just with just under boiling water for 5 min for full flavor.
Of all the oolong teas I've tried, this is one of my all-time faves. And I like the little pyramid tea bags too.
the main advantage of this tea is that it is available in mesh bags. it seems less flavorful than comparable teas.
Very delicious, a million times better than the teabag wuyi. Great for brewing twice.
A stronger wuyi oolong than the others that I’ve had before. It has a nice medium roast with a bit of a slightly smoky nutty notes to the overall earthy sweetness.
This is my first venture into oolongs, and I did enjoy this one. I steeped it 3 times and enjoyed the first steep the best- to me it tasted like an earthy version of green tea. I thought it was relatively weak by the third steep but that might just be my technique! Overall, I found this to be a lovely introduction to oolongs.
I left this until last--I was thinking it would just be a standard black. It was so GOOD!!! It's really flavorful and Rich and Full Bodied. I was really happy with it and definitly would make this my standard go to black tea.
My favorite oolong by far. This tea makes our Saturday mornings special; you just want to relax after breakfast and fully enjoy this cup.
A nice dark oolong that features a woodsy, smoky, earth flavor. The flavors are smooth and this tea works great for people who are used to drinking coffee in the morning but don't like black tea (like myself).
This is an interesting tea. It has a slight smoky undertone, and an overall earthy robust flavor. Not something I would want every single day, but I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for an alternative from your usual black or green teas. I had to use more of it per cup than the recommended amount in order to get the full flavor qualities, though.
I love this. It has a barky taste. Probably not for everyone. I didn't expect to like it, though, and now it's my favorite.
I have a love-hate relationship with good oolongs. Most of the time I'd rather be drinking black teas but sometimes I just get a hankering for the strong, sharp taste of a good oolong like this one. It's not a subtle flavor, it's rich and sharp with strong green presence and super subtle tire and tar and scorcher eath notes. Don't misunderstand me, I consider these positive notes as they are subtle and add delicate depth to the tea.
My daughter thought this tea smells like rain water, my husband said it smells a little bit like chocolate and I thought it smells like hay/grass/ grains/barley. The leaves look beautiful: dark and twisted. Taste: nutty/grainy/hearty. Turns out I like Wuyi teas...
A good black breakfast tea. A little smokey, but not objectively so. Definitely worth getting a sampler of.
Decent. I recently tried all of the oolongs offered, and the dancong aria is the only one which sticks out.
this tea was very pleasing no dullness at all i enjoyed it very smooth
When I bought the Oolong sampler, this was the first one I finished. I ordered this tea because it's something I want to hold onto. It tastes great, my family likes it too so I'm giving it 5 stars out of 5.
Very nice, a bit strong for me so makes a great wakeup tea for me. I have to steep this one less.
This tea was a good tea just didn't suit my tastes. I would recommend a sampler before getting alot of it.
I really enjoy this tea, smooth and 'oolong-y' tasting.
My first experience with this tea wasn't pleasent. However, when I made it a bit weaker the second time, it was very very tasty. This tea is strongly earthy if it is steeped too long, but made weaker, the earthy, floral, and cocoa notes in this tea work together in wonderful harmony. Also, second time around I didn't use such hot water. Probably around 200° F. Also, true to a high quality Oolong, this tea does get better with each resteep. I'm steeping my third cup right now!
A good and mellow oolong, but I was hoping for something a bit deeper and stronger.
I really like bold flavors, and this tea had it. A smoky deep flavor that survived multiple steepings. So far this is my favorite of all the teas I've tried.
A bit bitter if brewed improperly, and it loses its charm if served cold, but it makes a lovely cup of hot tea on a cold winter night.
