complex and hearty flavor faint hints of hay. the taste kinda reminds me off fall.
Oolong from the WuYi Mountains in Fujian, China. Savory aroma, roasted vegetables. Faint pit-fruit notes. The honey-floral flavor and nutty, with white sesame, sweetened burdock root (fans of Japanese sweets, anyone?) or barley is satisfying and hearty.

Now this is my cup of tea! Good for at least two infustions. Very enjoyable cup of relaxation.
I am not an experience Oolong drinker, but this one is my favourite of Adagio's oolong offerings thus far. It has a strong fruity character and stands up to many steepings.
This is a wonderful tea to have in the morning, and make you feel ready to conquer the day. Great with honey and milk.
This is a good oolong. But i think, for the money, fujian rain has a more inviting flavor for me. Found this very mineral tasting but not as smokey or nutty as the fujian rain. Still, its a very good tea.
wonderful deep flavor, great cup for a relaxed evening
THIS IS MY VERY MOST FAVORITE TEA FROM ADAGIO! I bought this tea after trying the expensive Da Hong Pao tea looking for a cheaper replacement. This 'Wuyi Ensemble' and also the 'Fujian Rain' both taste very similar and COST MUCH LESS than Da Hong Pao. In fact they are so similar that i will never pay the premium price for the masters version again. The Fujian rain is too weak/delicate for my taste, so the Wuyi ensemble is my only rocky-tea fix from now on. :)
This is probably my favorite oolong tree that I've tried, for the complex flavor. If you don't think you like oolongs this might be a good fit for you.
I'm still fairly new to the tea world, but I really wanted to try an oolong and I was far from disappointed with this. It has an earthy or mineral taste that I find very pleasant, and gives off a kind of scent reminiscent of a rain storm like some others have mentioned. I bought the tea bags and find they are usually good for 3 uses, but next time I'm definitely buying the loose leaf!
Also makes me curious to explore other oolongs for comparison.
My favorite oolong from the Dragon Sampler, this tea is a beautiful golden colour in the cup, smells amazing, and tastes fabulous. Good for multiple steepings, and delicious with just a little bit of sugar. I have ordered it separately twice now and would definitely recommend it!
A very complex, earthly, delicious oolong. I'm very satisfied with it!
The tea in the bag smells very woodsy and earthy, and I was a little surprised when I brewed the tea and had a different smell and taste. The nutty and oaty tastes blend excellently with the honey
It's hard to describe the flavor of the tea. It's not quite herbaceous, not quite nutty, but falls somewhere in between. A smooth finish with a calming effect. Got this as a free sample with a purchase and was very pleased with the resulting cup.
Love this tea! I drink this almost every afternoon.
A new favorite. Has a clean mineral tasting, like fresh spring water... if that makes sense. It can leave a 'dry' taste on your tongue, but overall it's pretty good. Good for a coupe infusions too.
The description Adagio gave is right on the money. It's a deep, rich flavor. The one thing that is not mentioned is that this is a very smooth cup of Oolong. Overall really good, but not my favorite cup of Oolong.
Delicious. I purchased this to mix with various lighter teas (Yunnan Jig, Yunnan Noir, Yunnan Gold, etc.) after loving the Mambo flavor (which is Jig mixed with the Ensemble). It adds a lovely, earthy flavor to any black tea. It's also delicious on its own.
I think this is the first Oolong tea I've tried. It's got a light, almost nutty taste. This would be a very nice dessert tea.
Reminds me of a rain soaked garden in both taste and smell.
This tea has a mild malt flavor, reminiscent of Irish Breakfast. It's great with a little milk too.
This is one of my two favorite teas from Adagio. The color, aroma, and flavor cannot be compared to any other tea I've had. It has a rich, warm, nutty flavor, but still manages to retain some of the sweetness of the lighter oolongs. Definitely worth your time to try.
One of the better oolongs I've had. Very earthy flavor somewhat reminiscent of a jade oolong, but with the deeper notes of a more highly oxidized oolong.
Wow, this is a fabulous tea! I thought I had my favorites decided, but now there's a new one! My husband enjoys this one too and he's not much of a tea drinker.
I went into this tea not having any expectations. Opened the bag and it smelled pretty good. Brewed it up, then took 1 sip of it and it instantly reminded me of Genmai Cha, but without the rice. It has a good deep roasty taste to it. Definitely a good tea. I used about 4 teaspoons of tea to brew this cup.
This is one of my favorite oolongs. It's scent is very slightly like chocolate and more strongly like hay or grass. Lovely. The brewed tea is flavorful and slightly sweet - very subtle. I don't like sweet tea so this is not overly sweet but never bitter. You can do multiple infusions and the flavors are less strong but still delicious. Try this one!
I absolutely love this tea! The flavor is so complex and inviting. It has that typical smokiness of a darker oolong, but isn't overbearing. The 'roasted vegetables' description doesn't quite live up to the flavor, but for lack of a better description it's pretty accurate.
A nice balanced tea. Just be sure not to oversteep.
I usually order the flavored teas but this is becoming a quick favorite as well. Good medicinal properties makes it even better
This has good oolong character. A roasty toasty flavor, nice to wake up to.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tea! I'm a huge fan of oolong, so I expected to like it :) I tried mixing in a little bit of the coconut tea, just for fun. Delicious!
First infusion was a bit weak. Second time I added a little bit more of the tea and upped the water temperature. Then I could actually taste it! So yummy. A good 'everyday oolong'.
Nice full bodied oolong. Not bitter and no aftertaste. Good starter oolong for those who love black teas
One of my favorite greens, a very 'true' green. Forgiving with steep time and temperature.
I was intrigued by the description of nutty, sesame, barley flavor. It's right on! Makes a very special cup. If you're curious, try this one. You won't be disappointed. To be savored and sipped...
I find this strong, bitter ensemble far too harsh to be drunk on a daily. Like concentrated coffee, it is good in times when you need a 'kick.'
This is a wonderful fusion of plants and ground. There is a nice woodsy taste to this tea, with a hint of vegetation and a little bit of earth. If you are a fan of pu ehrs, you might like this.
My mom used to have tins and tins of this at home when I was a kid. Adagio matches the flavor pretty well.
Oh my god let me tell you about this tea. It is fantastic. I love the woodsy feel and the pleasant aftertaste, it makes a beautiful cup.
Nice rich flavor yet not too strong or overpowering. A very good tea to start off the morning or when I need a good boost to wake me up throughout the day.
I was looking for a good basic oolong tea to have on hand and this one does the trick!
A little weak, no matter how long/hot I brewed it.
This is a tasty tea, but it doesn't stand out to me above any of the other oolongs.
After experimenting with a number of Oolongs I finally settled on this one. I like a strong cup and this roasted cup does the trick.
This tea grew on me after multiple brewings as I began to appreciate the flavor more. Earthy, woody and nutty, but I did not get the honey flavor mentioned in the description (especially when compared with the Dancong). Very enjoyable, complex tea - be patient.
THIS was the type of Oolong I've been searching for! WONDERFUL floral aroma with a sweet, earthy taste. I drink this with nothing added to it.
I grew up near Starved Rock State Park, where there are many canyons and riverside cliffs--this tea smells like that park. It has a mineral/damp stone quality, like the limestone of the canyon walls, faintly sweet and vegetal like the surrounding woods, and a hint of smokiness that calls to mind the camp fires of people lodging there. This was very nostalgic for me, and delicious. It is also a very smooth drink, and cleansing with a hint of honeysuckle in the finish. Subsequent brews become more mineral in flavor. A very excellent tea! Can't wait to get more!
Good oolong flavor, I drink this plain without sugar or milk.
Thank you, Adagio, for the sample! A touch of smoke mixes perfectly with a very pronounced 'rocky' taste. Behind this is a darker, oolong-floral taste. I think I do actually taste some fruit (apple?) in the aftertaste, as well as some vegetal flavor. The tea tastes dark and nutty. It is very good for multiple infusions.
This is a nice tea, and I'll often steep the same scoop of leaves twice to get two somewhat different tasting cups of tea.
Amazing flavor in handy little pouches!!! I purchased the tea bags and I use them to make a quick afternoon cup of tea in my favorite office mug. I use the hot water from the office coffee pot and let it sit for about 3 mins. My mouth and tummy do the happy dance! :)
