Smelled delicious in the packet. I added cream and sugar which brought out the vanilla flavor. Second steep was weak but still good.
Naturally sweet oolong from Taiwan and pure vanilla. Brown sugar, honey notes and warm cookie-like flavor.

Smelled delicious in the packet. I added cream and sugar which brought out the vanilla flavor. Second steep was weak but still good.
yummy oolong tea. Vanilla hint is perfect. Wish I hand another cup.
5 years after my initial review for this, and I still can’t get enough! What fantastic timing too with this being the communiTEA of the day. It's really smooth to drink especially with some milk in it. I over steep it for more flavor as I found it doesn’t really get bitter. Over all, it's a really good afternoon tea with some sugar and a biscotti or two.
Could have used more vanilla in this oolong. Very mild taste.
I didn't notice much vanilla from this flavored oolong. As far as I could tell, it's all oolong. That's not a bad thing, though this oolong base is not particularly complex. It's toasty and warm, perhaps with a bit of minerality. I can't even say that the vanilla flavoring adds a smoothness to this tea like it does on the Ceylon base; oolong is too smooth already. It's a good tea, basic, but good. If you're looking for something that screams 'VANILLA!' though, this is not your tea. (3 minutes @ 190F)
Good whimsical vanilla flavor that shines over the woodsy oolong base. Would be even more delightful as part of a blend.
This is a very mellow vanilla tea. It is perfect with or without sweetener. A beautiful deep golden color. It is not bitter. Soothing.
Very nice as a vanilla tea! As an oolong, I prefer something a little more tea-forward, but if you're looking for something very vanilla, this is a good choice.
I really think I'm starting to fall in love with Oolong tea. This has a warm rich flavor that is balanced with the vanilla and is utterly delectable. I think this is going to replace the black tea version in my stash.
Fragrant vanilla smell upon opening, but it doesn't translate all that well to the actual drink. For me, the vanilla was a tad overpowering. Instead of complementing the natural sweetness of this oolong, it seemed to be competing with it. The second brew was far superior as the vanilla notes were not nearly as strong.
Toasty oolong with just a hint of vanilla. Lovely on its own without any sweetener.
This is a lovely vanilla tea! The vanilla flavor is sweet and is balanced out well by the smooth oolong base.
A nice oolong tea with a lovely vanilla flavor.
March 23: couldn’t drink it this time. All oolong and not one I liked; kind of had a ‘river water’ thing going on.
love vanilla tea and oolong and was looking forward to this. I'm enjoying it but not getting vanilla at all; the scent is sort of burnt-hay and I like the taste but would never have said vanilla if I didn't know the name. I'm now eating part of a chocolate chip cookie with it which helps :)
3/30/24 Communitea: Brewed at 195 for 3 min. Tried first black and then added a bit of raw sugar. While I wouldn't necessarily say this is a bad tea, I feel as though it is lesser than the sum of its parts. I can tell underneath the vanilla that the oolong chosen is quite nice, I love Taiwanese oolong and I can particularly taste the honey notes- but I think the added vanilla flavor is taking away from it rather than enhancing it. I agree with other reviews that I'll finish my cup, but probably won't order it again unless it comes in a blend.
My favorite oolong! Delicious vanilla, with a delicious base tea!
This tea is quite sweet (compared to other oolong teas, it's not going to give you a sugar rush or anything). Quite a few of my favorite blends use this, and I like vanilla oolong on it's own too
Great tea with a strong vanilla flavor. One of my go-to comfort teas with a little bit of sweetener.
Cozy! The vanilla is present but not overpowering. I personally love it iced or as the base for a protein shake.
Vanilla oolong isn’t bad tea but prefer pure oolong
Delightful cup. Holds up well with milk and sugar and even a resteep. It's also good without the milk and sugar but I like using it as a coffee substitute some mornings
Decently vanilla. Smooth yet subtle. Good afternoon tea.
This is a very straight forward simple vanilla tea. Nothing artificial about it A real favorite of mine that I will always have on hand. It’s also great blended with others
I open my communiTEA package to the smell of sweet vanilla. I brew my package for 4 mins @ 200ºF. I added 1/8 tsp sugar. The result was a lovely amber cup, where the vanilla flavor and the woodsy notes of the oolong tea were very well balanced. I do not recommend a second steep.
This is a lovely tea. It has a warm subtle vanilla flavor that lasts through two infusions. I am very happy with this purchase.
This is a very light and sweet blend. No bitterness at all and very pleasant to drink. The vanilla flavor pairs nicely with this sweet oolong tea. Would probably do very well in blends, though on its own it is a bit plain.
The smell before steeping was the strongest note of vanilla, as it faded to mild, and often absent in a sip. I think it is one that might be better emboldened when in a blend. Still, it lacked any bitterness, and held a consistent - though again largely hard to detect if you're not really mindful with each drink - sweetness. Held up well mixed with oat milk and dark agave.
A good vanilla flavor and smell. I enjoyed the tea today
Smooth and rich, with a delightfully strong vanilla taste.
A roasty, toasty oolong complimented by a subtle vanilla flavor. Made even better by adding a little cream and sugar 😋
Very simple vanilla flavored oolong. I seeped about two teaspoons in 195*F for 4 minutes. Added a little raw sugar and enjoyed.
This one doesn't have a lot of flavor, but what it does have, is good. If you like oolong teas, you should enjoy this one.
Delicious and smooth. The vanilla is prominent, so it would be great mixed with other teas. I brewed at 195 for 3 minutes instead of the suggested 212.
16 oz, 3 mins @ 195* F, blended with chocolate chai puerh and wild strawberry with cream and sweetener.
I love vanilla oolong in blends, its sort of one note by itself, so rather than drink it solo, I blended it as above. Quite a tasty combo.
Delightfully soft and sweet! Pairs great with my shelf of chocolate sweeteners, what a pair!
Im afraid I don’t care at all for today’s tea. It has a dry, grassy taste that never went away, even as it cooled a bit. I’m not a fan of most green teas do I think I will chalk it up to personal dislikes in general and this is specific. If you like grassy green teas, chances are you will like this one.
Hmmm… the name of the tea had me intrigued. I just couldn’t get past the smell. I’m not sure exactly what scent turned me off, but I wasn’t able to drink the entire cup.
Greeted with a warm vanilla scent when I opened the package. No bitterness, smooth, like a comforting hug. A fine flavored tea.
I enjoyed this tea - no bitterness at all. Light vanilla flavor. Drank while traveling so sadly couldn’t enjoy a second steep.
A lovely, robust, roasty toasty Vanilla tea cuppa! A bit of creme adds a nice smooth vibe. Vanilla Oolong is wonderful in Blends!
I opened the packet to delicious strong sweet vanilla aroma that instantly brought to mind cookies. 2 min @ 160 changed it to malty and a hint of roasted aroma. This was a very smooth tea, no bitterness, with a lingering vanilla sweetness aftertaste, and no astringency. I steeped twice more and the vanilla and sweetness weren't there. While I would drink it if I had it, I wouldn't buy this for myself, just not a personal favorite.
Hubby did not care for this at all. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it either. We love oolong teas but are not fond of vanilla tea on its own. Perhaps it would be more to our liking in a blend. I brewed it at 195 for three minutes.
Oolong is one of the sweetest, smoothest teas and the addition of vanilla makes it that much more delicious...
Update: This is still one of my top 5 favorites! Perfect amount of vanilla combined with the oolong. Delicious!
Pleasantly surprised at this one. The taste of vanilla comes through boldly yet smoothly. Very good!
Very natural, light and flavorful. It is extremely well balanced !
I adore vanilla teas and this is no exception. The smoothness of the vanilla itself is perfect, as expected.
Great tea! A great tea for anytime, great with or without milk and with or without sugar. Would reccomend!
Oolong and Vanilla are two of my favorite flavors, and this brew does them both justice! The oolong flavor comes out without the need for any sweetener, and the vanilla adds just that touch of decadence.
A really great breakfast tea! I wouldn't say it is super on the vanilla side, but it is sweet and very cereal tasting. The leaves are a bit smaller than what I would expect in an oolong, but I don't think it takes away from the flavor too much. Overall a fan.
I dont think a lot of oolongs so wasn't sure what to expect with this - but I liked it! I prefer the vanilla black tea I have but this is an okay substitute when i run out
