Ti Kuan Yin Customer Reviews

Legendary and beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Warm, soft and soothingly mineral in texture. Notes of toasted walnut and tender collard greens. Intriguing lingering floral aroma, lightly orchid, and gentle astringency. A meditative cup.

★★★★☆

Love the taste of this tea. It is smooth and wonderful and the leaves are really cool. But unlike most of my oolongs I can only get one and a half brews out of it. The half means the second cup is very very weak. So I'm not completely happy with it but I do love the flavor.

★★★★★

Light and flowery with sweet undertones. I do not usually associate the delicacy of this tea with Ti Kuan Yin but enjoyed it all the same.

This is one of the best teas I have tasted. The fragrance is comforting

★★★★★

This is the best tikuanyin I try in US.
In Chinese, 'tikuanyin' is the sound, and 'iron mercy goddess' is the meaning. They're the same thing.
I love this tea. I tried to find it in US but usually I got some bad quality ones. Until I tried Adagio's. Adagio's tikuanyin is SO GOOD!!!

★★★★★

Probably the best Iron Goddess I've tried in bulk. Has the grassy toastiness that I love in IGoM.

★★★★★

Awesome! Light, almost green, with an excellent taste. Lives up to its name.

★★★★★

Really pricey, but really good and worth the money. Will not be my 'every day' tea, but will be my 'special' tea.

★★★☆☆

There's a high percentage of broken up leaves compared to other ti kuan yin I've had, but it has a decent grassy flavor and makes for a satisfying every day cup. You can easily steep it up to four times before it becomes very weak. Take care not to leave it past about six minutes it gets bitter.

Moy fantastiche, es sehr gut! Ich mochte grossen grossen amounts!

★★★★★

It has a fresh green leaf flavor, if you're looking for something to wake up the taste buds.

My husband and I just love this oolong tea: full, yet light, and always smooth. Other oolongs can be sharp on the palette, but as with all Adagio teas we've tried, the ti kuan yin is consistently smooth. Dreamy.

★★★★☆

Elegant and earthy. Very aromatic strong, and somewhat lighter than other Oolongs.

I favor white monkey green tea as my regular tea, but every once in a while I long to mix things up a bit. Ti kuan yin is distinctly different from white monkey. It comes across as a little stronger in taste. I back off a little on the brew time to make up for the stronger taste. It can get bitter quite easily, if left to steep too long.

This is one of the sweet and pure type of oolong, rather than the fairly woodsy type of oolong such as wu yi ensemble.

It's a little expensive, so I usually save it for kind of special occasions, but it is certainly not a flavor you will get tired of.

Ti Kuan Yin provides a well balanced flavor and a lovely color in the cup.

★★★☆☆

Very bland tasting. Not much going on in taste. Maybe I got a bad batch?

This tea has a wonderful earthy flavor. It is perfect without any sugar or cream.

★★★☆☆

Not a bad tea if you are new to Ti Kuan Yin. If you are an oolong drinker you will be disappointed. Overpriced IMO.

My new favorite tea! This tea is very fragrant, orchid, flowery. Taste is sweet, not vegetal, very calming and delicious.

★★★★★

Incredible tea. It takes honey or agave well. It's like a warm hug from the inside.

★★★★★

As a huge green tea fan who doesn't nearly appreciate black tea as much, I wanted my first oolong Adagio tea to skew closer to green. And I was blown away by this tea. It has a full-bodied green tea flavor and astringency with surprisingly strong floral notes--reminiscent of lilacs. If you're a green tea fan who wants to try something a bit bolder, I highly recommend this 'ti kuan yin' oolong.

This is a most delightful tea. While perhaps a bit too vegetal for some, it has a complex and dignified taste/nose.

My favorite oolong by far, the Ti Kuan Yin from Adagio does not disappoint. It features a natural honey like flavor that sweetens up the nuttiness of the tea. Great for multiple steeps, each one bringing out more nuanced flavors.

like yunnan noir, this too reminds me of green tea, though I must admit I like the YN more. Very delicate, but plain taste, so I put a bit of sugar in to 'wake up' the flavor. I got it as a teabag sample previously and didn't know to reuse the leaves. I will remember it this time!

very floral and supprisingly sweet, even after two to three brewings. Good ballance of richness with the floral, beginning to taste more like a green tea from the third brewing on.

★☆☆☆☆

Initially sweet, but it has a horrible aftertaste that makes me think of phlegm and grass.

An absolutely excellent oolong. This has definitely opened my eyes to the wonders of green oolongs! It's sweet and floral, and it really hits the spot.

The leaves look beautiful: a combination of dark and light green crumpled in interesting and exotic shapes. The smell is light, fresh a bit grassy, reminds me of countryside.
Taste: it’s light (lighter than I imagined) complex, floral. Our family poll – my husband liked it a lot, I liked it and my daughter: not so much.

No better than an average oolong. Not sure if I'd try it again.

Oh Iron Goddess of Mercy help me stay a beauty. This tea is amazing and my number one favorite. I drink it like liquor, lol. It taste amazing, smooth, there is a hidden taste but its not strong or bitter you just cant put your finger on it. I drink it all day non-stop. I need to buy more soon. Its better then green teas and blacks.

★★★★☆

I wanted to give this a higher rating, but I couldn't justify it. That aside, it's a lovely standalone tea, with an initial floral taste and some sweetness followed by a rich nutty flavour, but when compared to other teas of this type out there, it's simply not as good.

Ti kuan yin is my absolute favorite tea. The dry leaf has a sweet smell, and the brew reminds me of honeysuckle. I love making this tea for friends and I am never without some whereever I travel.

This makes a beautiful amber cup of tea. The taste has subtle flowery notes (hibiscus or possibly honey suckle). A refreshing oolong for any time of the day.

Just great. I get many steepings out of this one. many layers and each steeping offers something different. Special

★★☆☆☆

I didn't care for this tea. I found it to be pretty bland.

This tea is light and smooth. A touch of honey makes it a great tea to relax with.

★★★★★

Not too heavy or too light. A slightly (but not too) grassy cup. Buttery and full-bodied. I love this tea.

A very smooth tea that is very light and pleasing with the sweetener of your choice. I always thought of TKY as very like green teas, and I was not disappointed.

★★★★★

I love this oolong. So subtle and smooth with rich, full leaves that create something I drink to relax, cleanse, and unwind.

★★★★★

Iron Goddess of Mercy is a must try if you like Oolongs, or are just getting to know them. Don't be surprised if you find yourself drinking this one by the pot.

★★☆☆☆

Smokey oolong. I don't really prefer this taste, I like a naturally sweeter oolong.

★★★☆☆

Not my favorite Oolong but up in the top 5. Can get a little grassy: steep a little on the short side.

★★★★☆

I prefer my TKY with a bit more roast to them, but this is a decent example.

★★★☆☆

I was expecting better but it wasn't bad at all. Worth a try.

★★★★☆

I love the Ti Kuan Yin I purchased a couple months ago, but this batch seems a bit more grassy than before. It's still very good, though.

Probably one of my favorite teas currently. Complex taste. Floral hints but not overwelming. I have tried the Huang Jin Bolero and the pouchong and while I like them (and their price) I still keep coming back to the ti kuan yin. Recommended!

★★★★★

Great tea but very easy to overbrew. Second cup is the best.
