Ti Kuan Yin Customer Reviews

Legendary and beloved oolong tea from Fujian, China. Warm, soft and soothingly mineral in texture. Notes of toasted walnut and tender collard greens. Intriguing lingering floral aroma, lightly orchid, and gentle astringency. A meditative cup.

One of my favorite teas. Simple both earthy and sweet. Pairs great with a bowl of fruit. Perfect tea to have before and after meditation 🧘‍♀️.

I like one or two cups every evening before going to bed. I find it to be extremely relaxing and I sleep like a rock. I'm happy and thoroughly satisfied with this purchase. Thank you.

This is a very leafy vegetable forward oolong, if you like a more grassy plant note I say try it, and you don't need a whole lot for a pot. If you're looking for a new fresh look into oolong try this!

It's a good black tea. I enjoyed it with pastries.

I'm generally mixed on oolong teas, but this one is is working to change my mind. It has a great flavor; not strong but not watered-down either. I love it just as-is without any additions. Great to sip as I work.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. It is a bit different and I think one that I'm going to have to try again.

★★★★★

A really good oolong with a more straightforward flavor. It's definitely on my list to order again when I run out.

★★★★★

I was looking to replenish my old monkey picked oolong from Teavana and this is the perfect match! I love this mixed with Jasmine phoenix balls and a lemon wedge. Delicious!

I really liked this one! Some commenters mentioned seaweed-like taste and I'd agree. I just happen to enjoy that. Especially on cold winter days!

Nice, oolong tea. It had a nice scent and flavor and was very good cold as well.

This is my first time trying this tea and I wasn't expecting it to be this delightful! I've always loved an oolong and this one has quickly shot to my list of favorite oolongs

★☆☆☆☆

Blech! This one is definitely not for me. Very vegetal and vaguely seaweedish. Reminds me of kukicha.

A delightful light flavour to this oolong! I prefer it straight with a hint of rock sugar. Possibly my favourite straight oolong tea!

★★★★★

This was a lovely tea! It has a mild floral flavor

Definitely a lighter Ti Kuan Yin. More resin flavors than I've tasted in other versions. Lots of roasted greens flavors too, and it has some body to it as well

This is a light flavored Oolong that I feel could be enjoyed by a variety of tea drinkers. There are no strong flavors to overwhelm the taste buds. Instead, the flavor is lightly floral which gives way to a subtle nutty-tasting and mineral finish. A slight dry mouth feel lets you know there is some astringency but not much.. This is a zen-like sip that yields multiple steeps and would be great iced too.

Little green buds spilled out of my CommuniTEA packet today. The aroma of the 3 grams of dry tea had an exotic smell with a hint of smoky toast but once brewed the aroma of the hot tea was very gentle and more floral.

The tightly rolled tea leaves unfurled nicely in 12 oz. of water in my IngeniTEA. Brewed a full 3-minutes at 195F. The liquor was a pale sunny yellow with a slight green hue. After sipping plain, I added a bit of green tea honey. Now sweetened, this mild-flavored Oolong was an easy and enjoyable sip. I made two more steeps decreasing the water each time, first to 10 oz. then to 8, keeping the steep time at 3 minutes. The floral flavor was quieter in the second cup and all but vanished in the third cup leaving a more stand alone mineral flavor. I feel the gentle essence of this tea is a good gateway to more flavored Oolongs and even to the world of green teas. It's a delightful springtime sip with a touch of floral.

I found this oolong tea smooth and a little nutty. Mild floral notes that are enhanced with a sweetener. I prefer honey. Beautiful pale yellow color

Update - CT 5/25/24: I tried again - had 2.82g so steeped 11 oz for 2 min at 195. Was still grassy and just not to my choice.
This tea was a bit grassy for me. Perhaps it was the brewing and fact I wasn’t home with my kettle. CT 12/12/2023.

Really, really tasty tea. Tiny curled leaves in the pouch bloomed beautifully to fill up my brewing basket. The tea has a beautiful golden green tea-like color. The flavor is delicate and soft, very pleasant even without sweetener. A small spoon of sugar does enhance the experience, but it’s not totally necessary. I got three brews out of the same scoop of tea leaves. A new favorite.

I like to brew my oolongs for just 2 minutes at a time, so to get several brews from a small amount of tea. This one is lovely, sweet, a bit fruity with a delicate mineral flavor, which meld together very well.

I half expected to dislike this one after seeing so many comments about it being “savory “, but I was pleasantly surprised. I brewed at a lower temp and for shorter time than I normally do and it worked out for the better. It’s a lovely tea to watch dance. I still prefer darker oolongs, but definitely wouldn’t turn this down. (185° for 2 minutes.)

This is a vegetal oolong with very mild whispers of mineral and floral hints. If you are a green oolong this will be a great tea for you!!!

I’m sipping this tea now as I’m writing. It’s my first cup. My mouth is tingling with delight. It’s the perfect sipping temperature and the flavor is soothing, warm and cozy. It makes me close my eyes to put all my awareness into the sip. It’s really quite divine. I think my next cup will take place in the woods….yea…the woods.

I've steeped this jewel six times (3 cup teapot) with no loss of flavor, with slightly different tastes each time -- and every one is wonderful. I can see why this tea variety is a classic and was named for the only female deity in the Chinese pantheon (Iron Goddess of Mercy). These curled leaves stretch to be a great size; rather than put them in an infuser consider putting them directly in a teapot. Lovely! Don't use oolong temperature water; use green tea temp.

A very floral, lighter oolong for those who prefer a greener type of Oolong. The pronounced floral aroma provides something special that makes me prefer it to other light Oolongs from Adagio.

I love this classic Oolong. Of all the brands I've tried, Adagio is the best. I will continue to order to keep it in stock for my tea collection.

If only I could give a tea ten stars! This Ti Kuan Yin is the best oolong I've ever had. It has such a satisfying floral earthiness to it, along with a notable body.

CommuniTEA portion: 195 for 2 minutes. Fantastic oolong! 3 steeps with excellent flavor. Beautiful leaves. Slightly floral with mineral notes. Stellar sip!

Lovely light, floral and green. I’m still getting to know oolongs so if anyone told me this was green tea, I’d have believed them. A hint of grassiness/collard greens as mentioned in the description, but I didn’t find it off-putting. Seemed to do well with short steeps (2-2.5 mins) and lots of them! Quite refreshing.

Light, slightly floral, green and smooth. This tea was a nice oolong, I was just in too much of a rush this morning to give it a proper review. I remember enjoying it, I remember the leaves unfurling, but it was gone way too quickly, ha!

Very smooth cup of tea with light floral and buttery notes. Steeped for 2:30 minutes at 91C - loved watching the leaves beautifully unfurl themselves. This tea produced a beautiful golden color as well!

This is a nice light floral oolong. I do enjoy oolong tea on occasion but it is not what I usually grab.

This one was a light savory taste that was just lovely! The vegetal taste isn't overly done but just right. Delicious!

Such a nice smooth, multi steepable tea, better at the second steep, but the first was awesome. I am really liking these oolongs adagio has to offer.

This tea is a lighter version of an oolong. The little rolled tea balls unfurl to big green leaves. The tea has a complex flavor profile - slight vegetal, floral, and mineral essences with a buttery mouthfeel. You can get several brews from the leaves.

Oolong isn't one of my go-to's, but this is pleasant. A bit nutty and vegetal, but not overwhelming. It's slightly astringent. I added a bit of sugar.

Well, Adagio's Ti Kuan Yin is like many oolongs in that it deserves more attention than I can generally give it. In light of that, I sipped three western-style infusions of this just to try and give it that attention. This one was pleasant enough, but it is more savory. Though, it's not exactly vegetal, the savory notes stand out, especially when hot. As this cools, it becomes a little sweeter and a touch more floral. It's an excellent example of a high quality oolong, but it's also not really my style of tea. (2+ minutes @ 190F)

I love watching the leaves unfold. At first sniff, I wasn't sure I'd like this. But seeped for 2 minutes at 195, it was light slightly buttery, mostly veggie, but still light. As it cooled, more floral notes came out.

A delicious light and smooth tasting oolong tea! It's buttery and a touch vegetal with the first steep. I steeped this like a green tea, with short steeps, 1-2 minutes.
