This may be a new favorite for me. It’s so mellow and smooth. It goes nicely with a little cream and sugar but be careful not to overdo them. It would be easy to overpower the gentle flavor of this tea.
Very rare oolong from Singbulli Estate, Darjeeling, India. Muscat grape and apricot pit aroma (also the mark of fine Darjeeling black teas). Dried fruit flavor, lingering floral notes. A lesson in 'terroir': the place where the tea is grown.

Not a great tea for me. Nothing really stood out to me in terms of flavor or aroma. I gifted it to a friend and all though they enjoyed it, it just wasn’t for me.
This tea is very sensitive to water type - with hard water, it really falls flat and tastes like most other darker oolongs - it lacks the richness of Wuyi oolongs, and for me it is about as indistinguishable as a lighter version of Adagio's Oriental Beauty. Brewed in soft water, the tea really comes to life, it has a definite muscat grape flavor, light and crisp. It is a bit more complex than a black Darjeeling tea, though perhaps not as multi-layered as the Rohini First Oolong. With hard water, I can get some pit fruit if I really search for it, but I don't note the muscat grape taste or the crisp finish I would look for in a Darjeeling. I loved the Rohini First Oolong, and this one does not compare well to it, but it is similar - the leaves of Ooooh Darjeeling are a bit darker, reminiscent of a later, more autumnal flush which is both more oxidized and tastes more like leaves than tea. Either way, it was fun to try this and my husband liked it (as he does all oolongs). Personally, I would bypass the Ooooh Darjeeling and go straight to the Rohini First Oolong - for about the same price you will get a much greater complexity of flavor, and much more similarity to a high-quality Darjeeling. Just be sure to use the best water possible, and keep the brew temperatures low, or you can miss all the amazingness.
Mineral-y, earth-y, but yet a shapeshifter of a tea, with each mindful tip of the cup... An absolutely lovely and light fav staple in my stash! It's one-a those teas the make ya go, 'Ooooh!'
A lovely tea- oolong with distinct Darjeeling notes. Overall a great cup of tea.
Delicious tea and a great way to enjoy a good book and a cup of tea.
This is my second experience with Darjeeling tea and the first pure Darjeeling tea I’ve ever tried, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from it. Maybe I’m just not as adept at deciphering tasting notes when it comes to pure teas yet, as I can’t really place what I’m tasting; I’m thinking I should’ve familiarized myself with conventional Darjeelings first, but I still enjoyed the gentle mouthfeel and gentle taste of this oolong very much. I did my steeping the western way, as suggested, for 3 minutes at 212F/100C, the second for 5 minutes and the third for 8 minutes at the same temperature. I’ve had it a second time as well and enjoyed it just as much. Maybe next time I’ll venture into some gongfu with it or try a more conventional oolong temperature to see what else I can get out of this tea.
This turned out to be a very popular tea with my husband. It has such a smooth, mellow taste and was delicious without any honey needing to be added.
Love this tea. I love oolongs so I’m not surprised that I like this one too.
I love this Darjeeling tea. It’s a perfect morning or afternoon tea. A must try for oolong tea drinkers.
Love this tea, very low astringency, great full
Flavor. A medium Oolong
Smooth tasting; did not get any astringency that you can with black tea. I purchased this due to the description here. I’ve never really delved into Darjeeling (besides tea bags in the way past; we won’t count those at all). Give this a try.
Great tea that tastes even better with a second steeping!
It wasn't super noteworthy or anything, but it was still a good tea
My favorite darjeeling. The oolong adds just enough flavor to make the darjeeling more interesting. Sometimes darjeeling can be too mild for me
A unique tea. More astringent than your average oolong
Tea doesn't get better than this,. How True!!!
I'm a big fan of the smooth and rich taste of darjeeling teas. This one is pleasantly mild and pairs very well with simple desserts.
I'm a big fan of Darjeeling and this didn't disappoint.
A nice Darjeeling. Darjeeling are lighter than other black teas, which makes them appealing to me in the summer.
Nice fragrant tea leaves with a slight hint of freshly mowed grass prior to steeping. The taste is very good with hints of fruitiness (not sure where that came from). Absolutely no bitter notes noted. I like this Darjeeling the best of all of the varieties I have tried.
Welp, I finally did it. After hearing so many other members of the CommuniTEA talk about Ooooh Darjeeling and compare other darjeelings to this one, I finally bought a sample and tried it myself. And I'm pleased to say that this tea lives up to the hype.
First, I was thrilled to learn that it's an oolong. Oolongs tend to be my favorite teas, and I also tend to love darjeelings. So an oolong darjeeling (or is that darjeeling oolong?) is an extra special treat for me.
The flavor is as golden as its hue. It has almost a honey sensibility, without the weight or cloying sweetness of honey. Whereas with many teas I taste flavors in waves, I tasted them all simultaneously in this tea, as if they were all swirled together. I found myself having to mindfully slow down while drinking it, because I kept wanting to greedily drink it all at once. If you've ever read or seen Anne of Green Gables, then you know the scene where Diana drinks four tumblers of currant wine. That was me with the tea. If it was possible to get drunk off this tea, I would have.
Needless to say, a sample isn't sufficient for me. This will certainly become a mainstay in my collection.
Absolutely lovely darjeeling! Better for pots of tea than individual tea bags, though, as the leaves are rather long, so you lose a lot if you try cramming it in bags.
A delicious tea that's best brewed 3 times. You might be able to stretch it to 4, but I found it too weak.
With this tea, I found it extremt important not to get too much of that slow-draining tea; it has a very bitter flavor. The first pot is light and floral, with a fantastic but hard for me to place aroma. The second pot is more earthy and mineral-y, akin to a moderate oxidized oolong, but with that hard-to-place flavor still strong. The third pot was dominantly earth and mineral flavors, with less of that lighter flavor.
Got this tea for my dad and he really likes it! Has a great flavor!
I bought this because the Darjeeling Sungma Summer was out of stock. Disappointing by comparison, especially considering the price. Wouldn't buy it again.
This is a really nice, smooth oolong that's easy to drink.
Straightforward as far as a tea can go! It has nice dimensions, and can be used multiple times if you wish-- which is a process as much as it is a plus.
Very fragrant with a sweet honey and white grape essence to it. Also, flavors of light peach and apricot were noted. An interesting Darjeeling/oolong.
Lovely woodsy slightly sweet scent as I opened my CommuniTea packet. Brewed 212F, 4 minutes. Very mild tea...No bitterness. Surprisingly complex taste...hard to explain it...malt, light sweetness, woodsy. This tea immediately made me think of a hike through the forest here where I live...maybe after a light rain when the scents of the trees, fallen leaves, moss and plants just really come alive, dappled sunlight...calm in a cup! Definitely adding this to my wishlist!
By far my favorite. The name does not let you down. I have a giant bag of this one.
This is such a lovely tea!! I really, really enjoy this tea.
This was a very pleasant cup. I brewed at 212F for 4 minutes, and didn't detect any bitterness at all. I really enjoyed everything about it. I didn't feel like it needed any sweetener or other additions. It was just a nice, warm, smooth cup of darkly golden tea. I would definitely drink this again.
Warm and honey-like darjeeling! Has an almost sweet woody flavor that resembles bamboo shoots in a way. Delicious and satisfying tea!
Yumm this tea was super light and delicious I love it!
This is a nice, smooth, black tea that is not bitter when brewed at 195 x 3 min. I did not need to add sweetener nor cream but I am sure that would have tasted good too. It almost seems like this might be a good base for a blend.
I don’t have enough experience with darjeelings to be able to pick out the complexities. To me it tasted like a mild black tea, which is good enough for me.
Steeped 2x, 200F 3min
Ooooohhlong, I’m loving it. Sometimes you need a basic deliciously strong tea.
Oolong is not something I enjoy, but this one is more pleasant than some others I've tried. It tastes almost wheat-y and light, with a nutty-floral fragrance that reminds me of autumn drygrass. A very pleasant amber brew, even if it's not my particular preference. The quality is still clearly impeccable.
This tea was so deliciously complex. It was malty, a bit woodsy, and slightly sweet, with underlying floral notes.
What a delicious tea! This is a woodsy, but slightly fruity tea. Absolutely over the top with a bit of sugar. It’s very smooth, and holds up well for multiple infusions!
As I sit here sipping my final cup of tea with communiTea, a black tea...my favorite , I want thank all you fellow drinkers for some great ideas and impeccable insight to the world of tea. My post may not have been as creative or insightful as many of You’s but I was very honest. I will be leaving the communitea family for a bit, going to venture into the world of the tea of the month. Enjoy and happy steeping. Oh. And my final cup...AMAZING.
From the gorgeous dry leaves to the last sip, this oolong was pure perfection in every way.
Ooooh darjeeling is a mild, malty tea without even a hint of bitterness or astringency. I steeped at 190°F x 2 minutes (3 minutes for second and third steeps), and sweetened with 1/2 tsp raw sugar. A solid tea, but I prefer the depth of flavor in Yunnan Noir.
Received in the communitea box. This tea is only okay for me. The packet had a faint grassy smell, which I don't enjoy, but I gave this tea a chance and brewed it up. There was still a slight grassiness to the cup, but not overwhelming. I drank about half of the cup I brewed and tossed the rest. Just not for me.
I really enjoyed this tea! Tasted great straight up with no additions.
Without a tea scale it's a guessing game since the tea is too big to measure by spoon properly ... I can't say for sure if I used the right amount, but I got a golden colored tea with a light flavor. It's nice enough, but I've had a stomach ache since shortly after drinking it, so I think it must not agree with me. The flavor isn't bad, and I'd try it again to play around with the steep.
Such a treat! This was delicious satisfying cup of tea. Smooth and full bodied. It had a fabulous flavor warm and had a hint of sweet honey flavor when cool. This is a wonderful tea.
This tea smelled like cocoa in the packet to me. Once brewed , it was a smooth enjoyable cup of tea.
My day was crazy. The poor communiTea packet sat there in sadness, or mocking me... not sure which. Finally, 7pm and I can have my tea. Simple, elegant and smooth. A wonderful tea. The world may not be perfect but the day has just become so much better.
