If you have a glass infuser, it's fun to watch the scrunched up leaves unfurl and blossom!
The tea looks beautifully light and clear and has a delicate floral scent. The flavor is ever so slightly grassy, but mostly just light and flowery. Every sip is perfectly smooth as it moves modestly through your mouth.
This is a tea for moments of quiet reflection, letting it gently warm and soothe your soul through multiple steeps.

Part of the January 2021 CommuniTEA box. Very mild and delicate - I feel like a fairy sipping on this tea. You can add a tiny bit of sweetener to enhance the flavor, which remains delicate.

Light & buttery; It reminded me of a green tea. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA January Box. I did add honey and foamy milk for a milk oolong latte.

A wonderfully smooth oolong with a light and delicate flavor. And subsequent steeps were just as enjoyable.

Brewed at 190F for 2 minutes with rock sugar added
Let me preface this by saying that I already source a high quality Jin Xuan from elsewhere that I enjoy brewing in my gaiwan. For my review, I'll be brewing both the same way (elec. kettle, 8oz mug, rock sugar, time/temp the same).
There is no large price difference for the two establishments. Adagio is $29 for 3oz and the website for 'other' lists the tea as $20 for 2oz. So there is no influence based on price to purchase one over the other.
Right off the bat, I can say the Adagio leaves have less of a buttery scent allowing the grassy/floral notes to come through much more. Not to my expectations, but I don't hate it. The Adagio leaves are larger, tighter rolls compared to 'other's' small, delicate rolls. Both, in truth, smell of wet grass after brewing.
When hot, Adagio is reminiscent of a light green tea. After cooling some, that is when I started noticing the milky flavor. Just like when I first tried it, 'other' reminds me of hot buttery biscuits with a hint of mild grass.
Overall, Adagio's milk oolong is a tasty one that I could recommend for Adagio lovers. I'll likely stick with making this one a small business purchase though.

light, toasted flavor, especially as it cools. A sipping tea, definitely. As suggested, it's good on a second steep (i haven't tried more than that, yet!)

Milk oolongs are one of my favorites so I was excited to see this come up in the CommuniTEA. The tightly rolled leaves unfurl and expand significantly when steeping. This one definitely has a floral aroma similar to Adagio's other lightly roasted oolongs. The mouthfeel is buttery, and it has a smooth, fresh flavor that is lightly green and floral. I really don't get too much milky flavor out of this one, it's just more of a creaminess in the body. All in all was an enjoyable tea and I would buy more. (190°F for 2 minutes, 3 infusions)

This tea is fine, just not anything particularly remarkable. I guess I was expecting it to be more creamy. It's a pretty tea, and it's fun to watch the little balls unfurl in the hot water.
The brewed tea is sort of weak and doesn't have a strong flavor. The kids liked it with sugar - I think the mild nature of it is good for them!

I like to be able to taste the tea, but this oolong really didn't have any flavor that I could taste. That's why it was closer to Hate it for me on this sample from the CommuniTea box today. Might try it again on second steep to see if it changes my opinion though.

Reviewing from the CommuniTea packet, I absolutely love the tea from today. I'm a big fan of green tea and this milk oolong is a tea you can't go wrong with if you're also a fan. Its amazingly smooth to drink with no additional additives needed. Just make sure you try and finish the tea while its still hot, the tea is not as good when it's cold.

There is a sweet smell of flowers when I open the bag. At taste, the grassy side is very present but ... I have a little trouble to really tasting the milky side that a 'milky oolong' is used to presenting. The flowers appear with a sweet touch when the tea gets lukewarm, but again, the flavors are too delicate to actually appreciate this tea. (3 minutes @ 95°C; CommuniTEA Jan 2021)

I really like this one! The flavor is delicate, but certainly stands up for itself. There’s good tea flavor complemented by milky/buttery taste and the tiniest bit of astringency on the finish. Others have said that a second and even third steep is possible - and that’s exactly what I’m going to do!

To me this tea has a similar flavor profile as some green teas, but richer and smoother. It's both creamy and delicate, with a flavor that is not overpowering but still stands out.

This was my first time trying milk oolong as part of the CommuniTEA. The leaves smelled good when I first opened the packet, so I was excited. Once I removed the infuser from my cup and sniffed the steeped leaves I was a little worried because of how much it smelled like wet, cut grass. Ew. But the tea itself tastes very good once brewed. Very buttery. Still not a huge fan of the smell though. Pretty neat how the leaves unfurl from their tiny little balls.

This tastes more like a green tea than an oolong tea. It is delicate and buttery and requires no additional sweetener.

CommuniTea review: I was happy to finally get to try this tea. I've had a curious eye on it for a while. It is delicate and watching the leaves unfurl is mesmerizing. I love the aroma...floral. But, that's where my love ended. . The second steep was better, but still to mild for me.

I really enjoyed this tea. I love oolongs, they always make it so warm and smokey while greens are sweet. This tea had a slight undertone of almost vanilla creme but not a lot that makes it milky
★★★☆☆
I was not very fond of it. I’m not used to drinking a lot of green tea and I felt like I needed to add something to it. Sorry

I would give this 2.5 stars if I could. Starting with the good news, It has a delightful aroma, soft and floral. The mouthfeel is smooth and buttery. There are zero bitter qualities. Now for the bad news, there is not a ton of flavor, and what is there is grassy, too many green tea vibes with nothing else coming through. Those grassy notes heightened as the tea cooled, so I had to speed drink it while it was warm. The second steep was slightly better than the first, but there are better oolongs that I can actually sip and savor instead of slam. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 3 min @ 195F)

Reviewing with the CommuniTEA today. The Oolong tea in my cup is pleasant and comforting. I do get a subtle buttery-nutty almost floral scent from the nose of this pretty golden-yellow tea. When I take a sip, a notice a mellow, smooth nutty flavor with a throat coating, not too long lasting buttery finish. I wouldn't call this a delicate tea, but it is delicate for an Oolong. Enjoy!

This milk oolong tea is a delight. The rolled leaves blossomed to beautifully shaped green leaves. The tea was a light mildly flowery brew.

Oolongs are among my favorite teas, and milk oolongs near the top of that list so I was delighted to receive this sample today in our CommuniTEA box. The little, tightly rolled leaves were fun to watch unwind into long, full leaves when steeping. They nearly filled the teapot when all were opened. The mouthfeel of this tea didn't disappoint and is very soft and smooth, lush and creamy. First sips had a mineral, sodium flavor; perhaps this batch is a bit old? The delicate flavor is a little lighter than other pure milk oolongs I've tasted. And the aroma was almost entirely absent. I expected more of a floral aroma from the brewed leaves and in the cup. Overall, still a very nice cup, and a second steep was delicious as well.

The aroma of this tea on opening the CommuniTEA packet reminded me of walking by a fish market in Annapolis, MD; a distinct seaweed odor. In hindsight I wish I had rinsed it. The first steep was 195 degrees for 3 min 30 sec. Nothing was added. There was a buttery mouthfeel and only slight grassy notes. The second steep was 195 degrees for 3 min. I added Monfruit sweetener but not notice any improvement in flavor. There was still a buttery mouthfeel and minimal grassiness. The third steep was done the same as the second, no flavoring added. It was so grassy I had to pour it down the drain. I think what I enjoyed the most about this tea was watching the leaves unfurl.

This is a very mild, delicate tea, similar to a green tea. Flavors are grassy and buttery, but overall quite mild.

This tea is pretty good. I would have thought by the flavor that it was a green variety. I am pretty sure I’ve had something just like this in an Asian restaurant, and never knew what it was. I’ve read a lot of people describing this tea as buttery... where I can see that somewhat is that I find a salty flavor in this tea, but not so much milky or creamy tastes or mouthfeels. The first sip was especially salty, which I was not expecting! The grassy taste others find in this tea reminds me more of seaweed, probably in part due to the saltiness. I think this is a great version of this particular type of tea, but not one that I would seek out to repeat.

Today’s tea was sight and simple. It looked very light in the mug more like a green tea would yet did not taste like an average oolong. Nice mouth feel. I added a bit of sugar. Overall a lovely cup of tea.

Light hay colored tea which follows with a very light, smooth flavor. No bite or bitterness here. Just a delicate, buttery cup when hot. Remember to brew at a lower temp about 3 min.

While this taste was a delight to watch as the leaves unfurled and did a slow dance, and the fragrance was light and almost floral, the taste for me was just to much like hay. Sadly, another green that I’ll leave for others to enjoy!

It's always fun to watch rolled leaves unfurl while steeping. I'm not a huge fan of the floral elements, but overall the taste is solid. Milk oolong unashamedly knows what it is. Time for a second steep!

If you like your tea SUPER light, and enjoy 3rd or 4th steepings of green tea, then maybe this is the tea for you. I usually love oolong tea and I feel bad about leaving 2 stars. I wrestled with leaving 3, but I since I couldn't get past 5-6 sips, I felt an honest review would be best. The color is practically non-existent. No scent that I could detect. I checked the packet again to make sure I brewed it right. I had. It tastes like a green tea that has been used for far too many infusions. I poured it back into the pot and gave it another minute to steep. That didn't help either. Sorry, Adagio! This one just isn't for me.

One teaspoon of tightly rolled dark-green oolong tea was noted in my communiTEA packet. Since this tea is more dense than most, it actually weighs the same as 1.5 tsp of a less dense tea, 3 grams, which is plenty of tea to make a 12 oz steep. So on we went.
I steeped this tea 30 secs longer on the 1st steep to awaken the leaves. I did at 190ºF steep because my kettle doesn’t have a 195 button. The leaves opened up and danced for a beautiful display.
When hot, clean and crisp straw-like flavors were noted. A mild tingle was felt on my tongue.
When warm, roasted nutty flavors were moderate with mild green tea tastes noted in the background. Pleasantly mild buttery flavors were noted.
This was an enjoyable and robust flavored tea that had nice floral aromas. It had a clean taste that had a lingering and pleasant mouthfeel of flavors. An acceptable amount of astringency was noted towards finish. This one’s at least a three-steeper! (3g tea for a 12 oz cup, 1st steep: 3 mins 30 secs/Subsequent steeps: 3 mins @ 190ºF, no additions)

(15 sec rinse. 180°F 3 min) Tastes like I took a sip of half-and-half before drinking this delicate floral tea. Has a pleasant light natural sweetness and a smooth, buttery mouthfeel. Didn't detect any astringency or bitterness. I found this tea to be very enjoyable either hot or cooled down.

First off, I love teas that unfurl as they steep. Fun to watch! Lovely sweet herbal scent as I opened the packet. Steeped for 2 minutes at 200F (my kettle doesn't have a 195 setting). I brought down the steep time a bit to avoid any grassy notes...it worked! Lovely, light green tea taste with sweet notes. I used to avoid green teas, but I think I was just brewing them wrong...too long, too high temp etc. I still prefer the stronger taste of black tea, but I'm beginning to appreciate green more and more. Nice cup of tea! Added to wishlist! :)

This is a very tasty oolong, I like it better than most other oolongs I’ve tried, it has a lighter taste but still has that nice buttery mouthfeel. I have tried one other milk oolong from another place, and that one had more of a milk taste, but I suspect that some of that was added flavoring. I really appreciate getting to try this one, that does not have any added flavoring. It is a very good brew.
I did the rinse and pour off to help open the leaves, then I steeped my first cup in an open cup to allow for better leaf to water distribution and used a strainer cap to pour it into a new cup. As is common with oolong, my second cup that I brewed longer was even stronger than the first. 190° 2 mins, second cup 190° 3 mins.

My first brush with Milk Oolongs was when a new tea company was giving away samples to get their name out and I tried their Golden Lily in a Gaiwan method. It was pretty good, but since my first sample of the Adagio version, I've decided I like the mouthfeel of milk oolongs, though I know others find the butteriness to be off-putting.

While steeping this tea it seemed light it color. So I let it steep a little longer and the. Forgot about it. I was afraid I had ruined it. But the leaves were fully open now and a light golden hue was poured into my tea cup. The look and taste reminded me of a dry white wine. Smooth and buttery with a hint of a fruit flavor that tantalized my tongue.

The first brew was a disappointing overly grassy concoction with undernotes of metallic seaweed. Maybe it’s just my palate, but there was none of the mildly sweet milky creaminess I so look forward to with a milk oolong. Second steep though more drinkable was lackluster. Third steep was dishwater.

I'm not a huge Oolong fan, so probably not the best person to review them. To me this tastes a little grassy but with a smooth, creamy almost sweet finish. It's OK but I don't really see myself reaching for it often.
