Milk Oolong Customer Reviews

An oolong tea prized for its inherent cream and butter notes. Lower quality versions enhance these notes through aromatization. Ours is a true Milk Oolong, with slightly roasted leaves that yield a light-bodied cup with sweet buttery texture and delicate floral aroma.

I’ve never experienced a tea with such amazing aroma and flavor. This really is a floral and lactic bomb with minimal green or roasty notes. I think I finally found my perfect oolong! I find it takes maybe a bit more leaves than other teas. I’d recommend 5g for 12 oz. The second and third brews are also good.

A great tasting tea. Second water is not identical to the first steeping but is still very good. Very high in tannins (noticeably dry), which brings my rating down from five stars.

Delightful light, buttery tea for general daily enjoyment. Easy add to the daily routine.

I have to say this Oolong was not my favorite of my Oolongs, but that's okay. While I agree on the thick and milky aspects of it, I feel as though it's a lot more temperamental and keen to go bitter than certain other oolongs, and has a sort of vegetal taste while lacking the heavy floral notes of Tie Guan Yin that balance that flavor out. Regardless it's not bad tea, just not worth the price to me personally.

This oolong is as the name implies creamy and buttery flavor with nuances of floral notes its definitely one of my favorite oolongs

★★★★☆

Very mild and smooth tea. Grassy and green flavored. It can be steeped for a long or a short time. No acidity. A good choice for a calming and relaxing cup in the afternoon.

I thought this Oolong would be exotic-tasting, but it’s just a good Oolong to me.

I've always loved milk oolong tea. It has a buttery smell to it and tastes so creamy. It's a bit of a splurge for the price, however.

★★★★☆

Milk oolong a good tea, but not enough for 5 points

Definitely has a great smell- tried first on 195F and 2min30s, then decided I had a weakish cup. Steeped another minute or so and got a fuller body and a better hit of this toasty mineral taste. I would still like a bit stronger flavor, but I'm also currently trying to resensitize my palate after years of being away from teas and coffees with more subtle flavors so there is that.

I love this tea. The notes of cream and butter is silky smooth and makes for a delicious cup. It provides multiple infusions so you are sure to get many levels of flavor.

★★★★☆

I like it, definitely has those milky type notes and floral to the nose. I have had another brand that I prefer but they discontinued it and I am still searching for a replacement.

Wow! I bought a sample to try, and was very pleasantly surprised. This is a wonderful, light, smooth Oolong, with no bitterness. This will surely be included in my next order. Steeped it in Yixing teapot (from Adagio) for several steepings. This is an excellent tea.

Silky smooth green oolong one of my top 3 green oolongs. I'd rank it right up there with ali shan and ti kuan yin

Sophisticated yet subtle. Reminds me of ali shan but with a far more textured mouthfeel. The milkiness really comes out with just the slightest amount of sweetening.

Very mild milk oolong. Easy drinker. Brewed for 4 minutes at 195. Holds up to 2-3 infusions. Not as milky as some other milk oolongs.

Great tea! A great tea for anytime, great with or without milk and with or without sugar. Would reccomend!

So delicious! Love how adagio has so many great tea options at great prices. Love this tea

Oolong is one of my favorite “base” teas and I’m always on the hunt for new and exciting variants. This is delightful - creamy, flavorful, and just a little sweet.

This is an incredibly smooth, lately oxidized oolong. It does have a soft, buttery mouth feel which supports its namesake. It has a creaminess to it for lack of a better prescription. I enjoy this one very much and trying to keep it in stock. This one is by far best brewed gongfu style!

The tea that dreams are made of! Every cup is a fragrant escape into a world of pure bliss. On repeat!

★★★★★

I really like the flavor of this oolong tea. The milk flavor reminds me of drinking tea with milk and sugar with my mom when I was younger.

Just too weak for my taste. I’m a bit anosmic, and need a bold tea. This one is too mild for me, even when I double the amount of tea.

The buttery flavor is most prominent on the first steep and there is an undercurrent of toasted rice. Later steeps become more floral with a green tea quality. Doesn't seem to go bitter if it brews for a few extra minutes. Good for multiple steeps.

★★★★☆

While the creamy mouthfeel wasn’t as prominent as I had hoped, this was a very “green” tasting oolong that I enjoyed. It was very good and flavorful on resteeps

★★★★☆

I haven’t found the right combination of strength to steeping this tea. It was a lighter tea that I’ve had so far.

Probably won't buy again. Wasn't as I expected, not that I knew what that would be. I like Oolong, but didn't see how it was milky.

★★★★★

This tea doesn't start to give off a milky aroma until about 1 minute into it's infusion but it is there. The flavor described in the product description is also accurate. Goes well with fruit jam filled pastries.

★★★★★

very milky and smooth we like it so much! i put some strawberry sugar and it tasted so good! classic or with sweetener still taste so good

I love milk oolongs in general, but this one from adagio is absolutely a favorite. It's so warm and comforting to have as an afternoon pick me up!

★★★★☆

This was nice, but a bit on the umami side for me, I prefer the more floral oolongs - but this is quite good and I will finish my sample. I'm not sure if I'll order it again.

My new favorite and go to. Do not let the price steer you away from this DELICIOUS team. It is not weak, but very smooth and has a beautiful mouth feel and aroma. Oolong is not one of my favorites in general, but this tea has taken the cake!

I've never tried Milk Oolong before, but one of my co-workers suggested it as I'm a tea enthusiast. Tastes delicious

★★★★★

This is personal preference, but I like that this is an unaltered Milk Oolong without any aromatics or additives to boost the 'milkiness.' It's a light and smooth tea, and it does have a subtle 'buttery' texture to it when prepared properly. Maybe some mild earthy and floral notes to the taste and aroma. It handles additional infusions well too. A minor complaint is that the price seems slightly steep ($29 for 3 oz).

I love the way the leafs unfurl into a tasty cup of tea. Great for multiple steeps. I love it with a little added milk to bring out the milky, buttery profile.

It's a more subtle flavor, but very nice! Almost buttery, with a hint of milk to it. Better with honey than sugar if you have the option

★★★★☆

I like this oolong and consider it a good basic tea. I will be using it in home blends. It has a light mild flavor similar to other Taiwanese oolongs I've sampled via Adagio and additional tea companies. It does NOT seem overtly floral in flavor as some oolongs are. In fact, it reminds me a little of Sleeping Dragon green tea. I do not detect 'buttery' or 'creamy' notes but it is mild. I want to do a taste comparison with Jade Oolong which has a slightly higher rating and is also cheaper. I need a memory refresh to see which I prefer and would like to use in flavoring experiments-- I want the more 'neutral' of the two for my purposes.

I recently ordered a sample of this as I was running out of a more pricey milk oolong from another company. Milk oolong is my go to pick-me-up tea and I am happy to say Adagio has a nice milk oolong at a decent price. It is a very calming tea and I love watching the leaves unfold. I will be purchasing more without a doubt.

Tastes very milky. Surprisingly smooth. They say it has no flavor that's added to it but I'm shocked that there was any form of Milky taste. It's very expensive but I loved it way too much.

I may have ordered this smooth tasting golden-colored tea before at a Chinese restaurant without truly knowing what it was. Sipping from those small cups always makes the experience ceremonial even with soda drinking friends.

The dry tea in today's CommuniTEA packet was a small quantity of little green pearls that tumbled into the infuser and then blossomed into a mini green forest of fully-formed tea leaves. Brewed 12 oz. at 195*F for 3 minutes, I enjoyed two cups of sunny colored tea. The aroma was pleasantly earthy and if I could smell the tea fields in China this may well have been the scent. This aroma translated to a delicate and slightly tangy tasting tea that had a creamy smoothness to it with just a hint of floral. No bitterness was detected. I chose to sip this tea plain as I thought milk and sweetener might alter the smooth and whisper light creaminess that was so good. I would recommend this tea as a perfect segway to the world of Oolong teas. It's mild and not overwhelming in aroma or taste but flavorful to enjoy as a soothing cuppa. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single wonderful sip...

This is an okay tea and there’s nothing wrong with it except that the tea I brewed from my packet didn’t have much flavor. That could have been my brewing technique. I steeped it at 180 for 2.5 minutes to avoid any grassy flavors, which it did not have. If I had it again, I think I would try to add something else in the brew. I just like heartier teas.

Smooth, creamy, and green. I steeped it 3 minutes and added a sprinkling of sugar. I usually prefer more flavor in my teas, but it was pleasant no less.
