Definitely grapefruit aroma from the dry tea, that hint of bitterness that separated it from oranges. 2 min @ 165. An earthy scent from the oolong blends nicely with the grapefruit. Earthy and grapefruit flavor are smooth. No bitterness or astringency from the tea. Delicious.

Great grapefruit aroma and flavor. No sweetener needed. Refreshing. Luv this tea.

The first time I had grapefruit oolong I did not like it, I think I oversteeped. Today it was a wonderful woodsy, smooth, grapefruit tea that was mellow and delicious!

This has got to be a tricky flavor to get right. I usually think of a sour flavor when I think of grapefruit but this flavor isn't sour at all. It's like a refreshing citrus flavor. Quite good.

I like this tea cold. Hot it was a little bitter. Cold it's smooth and tasty. Good grapefruit flavor that is light and citrusy.

Oh, nice! The grapefruit brings an appealing lightness to the oolong I really appreciate, without overwhelming the blend. A definite like.

This is one of the best smelling teas I've encountered. Tastes exactly like you would expect. Not too tart.

This was a big surprise. I hate grapefruit and oolong isn’t my favorite type of tea so I almost didn’t try this. However the flavor combination was very good! Grapefruit wasn’t overpowering and balanced the oolong flavor nicely. Who knew?! The communitea really helps me explore teas and flavors!

Better than I thought. I do enjoy the smell of grapefruit but not exactly the flavor. This, however, has a nice balance between the grapefruit and oolong. It’s bright and only a bit tart. 212 just off boil and 5 min loose in cup. I’d probably do less time next.

Decent oolong, I think I like the black grapefruit a bit better.

I am not usually a fan of grapefruit, but here it is more fragrance (which was lovely) and a bit of tartness to the oolong that complimented it well.

The first time I tried this it didn’t work for me - very prominent earthy oolong and not much grapefruit to speak of. I love the black and white grapefruit teas so I wanted to try it again. On my 2nd sample, I could taste the grapefruit but it’s still pretty subtle. I’ve come to appreciate earthy oolongs more, so it’s better than my first try. Might benefit from a quick rinse to remove some fishiness.

I absolutely loved the crisp, grapefruit scent when I opened the packet!!! Unfortunately it didn’t transfer to the taste of the tea. Perhaps I should’ve brewed it for three minutes instead of five. The grapefruit taste was still present, but it wasn’t as light or crisp as I hoped it might be.

As much as I enjoy grapefruit, blending it into an oolong tea didn't work for me. Too tart, and wasn't a great flavor combo with the oolong.

A great Oolong! Tasty Zesty Citrusy! At this time, this is not in my top 3 Oolongs, but it's still a lovely treat! ((4 mins @ 212° with ¼ tsp Florida Crystal Sugar for bringing forth Grapefruit tang!))

I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. I keep thinking, maybe this grapefruit tea won't be as bad. No. I hate them all. Next time I'm sending my packet to someone else and saving myself the disappointment. (If it's not clear by now, I detest grapefruit. If you love grapefruit, you will no doubt enjoy this tea. It's true to flavour.) Steeped 3 min @ 185º.

My disclaimer: I don't like grapefruit, (or mean people, parallel parking, or leaf blowers outside my bedroom window), but this is oolong! I could never diss my beloved oolong. The grapefruit flavor is bold, but somehow the oolong helps bring it down a notch, softens it up, so that it's not lip puckering. It will never be my favorite, but it's still a pretty good tea, thanks to the O.

11/27/2023 - I experimented with brewing this tea to bring out the grapefruit taste especially since I live at altitude and can't brew tea at 212. Around 200F is the best I can do, so I have learned how to adjust my brewing to make this an advantage. I brewed this tea at 195F for 5 minutes and voila! Lovely blend of the mineral/malty/bit o'raisin oolong base and nice notes of grapefruit. The grapefruit flavor isn't overpowering...it complements the oolong. Lovely! Upping this to 5 stars. I have come to really love this tea! The grapefruit is more pronounced when cold brewed, but this popped up in CT in November and it's 17 degrees this morning. Sipping it hot today! :)
8/9/2021 - A nice smooth oolong, but I really don't taste any grapefruit flavors. When I opened the tea packet, there was a nice citrus aroma, but it didn't translate to the brewed tea. Might be some ingredients were missing or low in my CommuniTea packet. Not a total loss though -- wonderful oolong taste! Nice way to start my day!

Super strong grapefruit aroma as I opened the package, not so strong after the first steep, it was there and it was nice, I think it was a perfect balance, I bet this would make an awesome iced tea

The lively and sparking aroma of grapefruit reached me as I opened my packet. Once brewed, the citrus flavor of the grapefruit, orange and marigold was a great balance to tame the tartness of the grapefruit but leave the sweet and tart flavor of the grapefruit with its citrus notes to the forefront. The complex flavor of the oolong with its crip nutty notes and fruity and slightly sweet taste was a great base for the grapefruit flavor. The result was a crisp, tart, and citrusy cup that was very enjoyable.

I was genuinely surprised at how well blended this tea is. The grapefruit comes through but isn’t overpowering in the least. The oolong has a gentle sweetness to it. I can see this being a new daily favorite!

I make ice teas and then carbonate them to make seltzers, and this tea missed the mark a bit. It was a little too astringent, once the carbonation was added.

A very harmonious blend. The oolong and the grapefruit flavor play off of each other perfectly, letting each have their turn in the limelight without overpowering the other. Easily my favorite citrusy tea.

I love the idea of grapefruit in tea, but for me, this blend lacks depth. Perhaps I’ll try brewing it longer. I think I would prefer a grapefruit blend involving green tea.

It doesn't taste like grapefruit at all, just plain oolong. I even tried using multiple tea bags, but no grapefruit at all

So far this has been one of my favorites. I will definitely be purchasing more. I like citrus teas that are well balanced

This is the same as the ice tea bags and I love to cold brew this! The ice tea bags have a little too much tea in it for my preference, so I'm happy that I can buy it in loose leaf and adjust how much I want to use

This is nice with a light citrus flavor. I enjoyed it but wished the flavor was stronger. The oolong itself was very flavorful, but I love oolong.

An instant favorite! Flavorful and fragrant grapefruit pairs well with smooth Oolong tea. The buttery and nutty notes of Oolong tea compliments the refreshing zip of grapefruit with an orange boost for a truly tasty sip. When I used a sweetener add of agave, it brought out the grapefruit flavor more. When the tea cooled to room temp. the citrusy flavor really popped. Chilled, this tea was delicious. The grapefruit flavor bloomed beautifully with the cold and blended seamlessly with the medium bodied Oolong tea base.
My Ct packet had 3g/ 1 3/4 tsp of very aromatic tea with dark Oolong leaves, marigold flowers and an orange piece. It brewed into a dark caramel colored liquor. Steeped 10 oz. @ 195*F for 3 minutes. I enjoyed a flavorful 5 oz. resteep too for a little more time. This tea doesn’t disappoint if you’re an Oolong fan! And if you’re a grapefruit lover this is a must try. The nice citrusy flavor pairs so well with this flavorful tea base. Enjoy!

Note: Please forgive the mixed metaphor(s) within this review.
This tea presents an interesting study in contrast. The bright citrusy notes of the grapefruit on the minerality of the dark oolong feels like drinking a yin and yang in tea. As the description notes, it has a distinctly dry finish. Though I enjoyed this tea, I think I prefer Adagio's white grapefruit; on the white tea base, the grapefruit sings more and feels juicier. Here, the duet between oolong and grapefruit sometimes feels at odds to me. On the plus side, though, it does hold up for at least one re-steep. (2.5-4 minutes @ 190F)

This is a crisp, tasty tea. It's light and tangy with just the right amount of citrus. Other Adagio oolongs, like peach, have more of a dark oolong taste that I don't notice here. Nice and refreshing.

I really like this blend. The grapefruit flavor really stands out, but at the same time it’s a nice complement to the oolong. Neither flavor overpowers each other.

This is a delicious cold brewed tea. The grapefruit flavor somehow manages to be both substantial and subtle, I don’t know how. I am cold brewing a second steep to see if it is any good.

Updated 9/9/22 I have come a long way from my original review. I buy this tea often. I prefer to cold brew it and drink it iced . Maybe over the year, I have learned how to brew oolong . Upgraded from 3 to 5 stars.
The smell was so fragrant from my CommuniTea packet. The taste not so much. I brewed at 200 at 4 mins (directions said 3-5 mins at a higher temp). The first steep was almost bitter. The second and third steeps I chilled. The grapefruit taste was minimal. I do like the flavor of the oolong tea . I do prefer the black grapefruit tea over this one though.

Just a hint of grapefruit but it really complimented the oolong well. I would totally enjoy this as a mocktail or a in a cocktail with some bourbon.

Over the last year or so, I’ve discovered if I’m presented with a flavored black tea and a flavored oolong tea, I will pick the oolong every time. Grapefruit is the prime example of this. Where the black variety can hold a sharp bitterness, oolong is inevitably smooth and calming. This tea highlights grapefruit (which can be a bit bitter on its own unless sweetened) and really lets the citrus profile shine without having to beat back the Ceylon element. Well done on yet another amazing oolong adagio!

The grapefruit goes wonderfully in this oolong. It's got a balanced citrus zing that isn't too much or too little.
