This tea was a nice smooth tea. I enjoyed watching the little balls unfurl. Not to strong a flavor. CT 8/1/2023. 180 for 3 min.

Tried as a CommuniTEA sample. This is too grassy for me. It's like hay water. I'm not normally a green tea drinker which is what this tastes like to me.

Enjoy this one don’t need to brew it for long to get the green tea flavor. I would get this again

I'm not an oolong expert, but I'm guessing (loosely based on the description) that this is a very high quality oolong for its price point. Though it leans more toward the green side - which can sometimes be iffy for me - this lightly oxidized oolong does not yield a grassy or vegetal brew. The liquor of the first steep is light-bodied and super-smooth. There's a buttery feel to it, but it is still delicate in both texture and flavor. The flavor is mildly herbal, reminding one that this is a greener oolong, but not so green as to be grassy. Had I written this review on one steep alone, I would give this tea five stars.

Unfortunately, subsequent steeps brewed 30 seconds longer each time yield less bewitching cups. They are more nutty and/or mineral in nature, aligning more with flavors one might expect from oolong teas. They are also not as smooth or buttery as the first steep. Yet, I had to take my subsequent brews of this CommuniTEA selection on the go with me in a travel cup that kept them hotter significantly longer. As they cool, I can detect the elements that enchanted me in the first steep, but I only catch glimpses. I am disappointed with these additional steeps, but it could as likely be the drinking vessel which keeps the tea hotter so much longer and/or my distracted attention.

Clearly, Fujian Orchid is a tea one needs ample time to enjoy. It is an all-day sipper as it can withstand multiple infusions (even western-style ones) but also benefits from time to cool and mellow as it sits in one’s cup. I agree with Adagio’s assessment that this would be a good tea for someone just beginning to explore oolong teas, but I would caution that individual to anticipate a time commitment. This isn’t a tea for when one is or needs to be on the go. (2-3 minutes @ 185°F)

Very nice floral note. Added monk fruit sweetener which enhanced the flavor for me. Was surprised at how much the leaves unfurled. It at least tripled in size. I'm sure it will give me at least one more 10 oz brew.

10 oz, 3 mins @ 180* F, divided. Sweetener in both, cream in hot.

Hot
This didn't need the cream to smooth it out, it was plenty smoothe on its own with no bitterness. However, I like cream in my hot tea so cream was added. Ir's a delicious sip both ways. I quite enjoy it.

Cold
Just as delicious. I prefer it hot though.

Lovely green oolong tea. Fun to watch the leaves unfurl. I added honey. A nice cup of tea to relax

The floral notes of this tea were noticeable, but still subtle. It is on the greener side of the oolong spectrum, and had some straw aroma. And good lord those leaves unfurled into behemoths. I didn't expect the leaves to be so large from those super-dense kernels in the packet. It was a smooth tea, not floral enough to be perfume in a mug, but probably not my first choice in the oolong family. Still, I can appreciate the quality. Steeped 3 min @ 180º.

This tea is a wonderful experience that can be savored over several hours. I was able to get 4 full steeps and enjoyed each one over the course of 5 hours! The light mineral and very faint background floral flavors were wonderful across each steep. I used 190 degree water and steeped for 3-1/2 to 3 minutes for each.

Oolong teas aren't typically my favorite so I was prepared not to like this one, but I was pleasantly surprised! Lightly mineral and not overly floral at all, very enjoyable without any added sweetener.

My little curled up leaves grew up to almost push out of my infuser. There was a lovely floral taste that lingered. Nice tea.

This tea is a very interestingly layered tea. It has qualities of a light green umami flavor with a mix of a subtle mineralized earthiness with light undertones of floral. I was able to get multiple steeps and loved every one of them.

A nice floral oolong with good depth of flavor. It's a pretty standard oolong, with perhaps a bit more grassy notes than other varieties I've had from Adagio.

I love oolong and this is a delicious version. It is light and floral. It is a bit astringent but I like that, it makes it taste fresh.

This tea is just meh for me. I'm not a huge fan of floral tea and even though this one is light it's still a bit to much for my taste.

A lovely, grassy scented, but earthy flavored oolong. This tea is smooth, warming, and contains not a trace of bitterness. There are some floral notes that help round out the overall flavor.

Sometimes drinking tea with floral notes can border on tasting like a mouth full of perfume. This was completely different! It almost reminded me of a mellow sweetgrass. Lovely.

In the bag: Matches the Adagio photo, though a few of the leaves broke into small pieces during transit.

On the nose (pre-steep): Minerals are center stage. It's almost like smelling a handful of granite. There's a secondary flavor that's hard to describe - vegetable oil, perhaps?

On the nose (post-steep): Minerals are here, but have dialed back. They're now in balance with a slight floral scent, like jasmine.

On the tongue: Minerality and vegetal notes continue to be the main flavors on the first steep. Buttery mouthfeel. On the second steep, strong floral notes have joined the party.

Opinion: An interesting take on an oolong, but still just okay in my book. I appreciated how the flavors changed from the first steep to the second.

Preparation: First steep 3.5 min, second steep 2.5 min. Both @ 195 ℉. No sweetener.

Where has this delightful oolong been hiding? One sip was all it took for me to add it to our reorder list. Floral, with a nutty finish. It is different from all the many oolongs we have in our tea cupboard. Smooth and satisfying. I'm so glad we tried it.

This turned out to be a very light oolong tea. I didn't get much of a flavor at all. Maybe I will try steeping it longer.

Fairly earthy and easy to over brew. after a couple of steeps the bitterness did fade but not a favorite for me. I do live at a high altitude though so that may be altering things for this tea for me.

Intensely floral, highly reminiscent of a jasmine tea. Light and very smooth. Very much a perfect tea for springtime. 2.4g in a 5oz gaiwan.

The leaves expand much more than I expected! Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations flavor wise. It's not bad, but it's just a bit too mild for my tastes.

This oolong is like a combination of a black tea and a green tea, showcasing the best qualities of each. The flavor has a slight floral sweetness to it and it can be resteeped several times. The leaves are tightly rolled and I love watching them unfurl. Yes, I am easily amused!
