The taste reminds me a lot of Hojicha, except much stronger and darker. I don t get any sweet hints, and if anything, it tastes more savory to me than anything else.
A darker oolong tea from Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa (which means 'Beautiful'). Deep raisiny and ripe fruit aroma, autumn 'leafy' note. The lingering flavor and smooth, refreshingly fruity astringency and a lovely introduction to Taiwanese tea.

I found the tea ok but would rather a more cinnamon kick to it as well.
Formosa Oolong is another standard tea for me and has been for years. I like to combine it with Mocha Nut Mate and Tiger Eye for a rich-tasting treat!
I've enjoyed Formosa Oolong for a number of years. Prior to buying my preferred tea from adagio teas I was buying from another source, now no longer available. Being from Canada I found adagio via Google and have found my tea once again at a more reasonable price and fast delivery.
So perfect, cant find a oolong this good at any local shopes!
This is my favorite Oolong so far. It's simple and very flavorful. It's very similar to what you might drink in a Chinese restaurant.
Cozy and inviting
This on was flavorful fresh and definitely an eyes opener for me. It really have the qualities of a high end Oolong to me.
This tea is alright. It is a nice black tea that's not too strong but it is earthy. I do get in the mood for it sometimes but not an everyday tea.
I like that oolong. light color, fruity aromas this tea has
Full disclosure: my familiarity with oolong tea is pretty limited, coming mainly from (decent) Chinese restaurants and an unfortunate experience with a teabag version from a big manufacturer.
This tea is just a shade better than okay for me. It's got a mild flavor when you brew it at the recommended 1 tsp per 8oz cup. The flavor is lightly sweet and delicate with a touch of cocoa in the aroma. It is honestly really similar to the oolong teas I've been served in restaurants. I can't say that Formosa Oolong has made me excited to keep trying oolong teas, but it hasn't put me off trying them either.
I've had this tea from Adagio back in 05 or
06, maybe. Great then and now. Traditional Oolong tea, especially a cup full in the morning.
Nicely priced and good. Can steep multiple times.
Delicious oolong, very fruity! I highly recommend.
Smooth, delicious cup of tea. Hint of grassy flavors with very mild astringincy. Highly recommend for an oolong.
Pretty good for a non blended oolong tea! Not overly powerful if flavor, though the dry leaves kind of have an earthy smell, similar to hay. But it doesn’t taste like that!
When one reviewer mentioned that this tasted a little like mulch, it immediately sparked my interest. I tend to enjoy many of the earthy teas and was very pleased with this one. It has a darker taste than your typical oolong but still lighter than black. Would definitely buy again.

It's good for the price, but I prefer other oolong teas for depth of flavor. I could see this being a good option for a morning pot.
An enjoyable earthy tea, I find this to be sort of a standard everyday drinking tea.
I love this tea. It's funky and weird, and so good!
This is a good oolong for the price. Good flavor, but you cannot steep it again and again like some of the higher quality oolongs.
It's fine? Not an enormous fan. I love the Pu-Erh Dante because it was so vegetal, and this one is like that but less intense
One day I had some black tea brewed in a coffee maker and it smelled and tasted something like this but much stronger. This has just a hint of coffee taste to me. Sort of like coffee but sort of like chocolate with just a hint of smoke. This is a full bodied tea. It is not something to make iced tea with but would be great to sip while setting around a campfire.
This is my favorite afternoon tea. It's got great balance between the floral and stone-fruit high notes and the malty undertone. I find it satisfying and uplifting.
I was expecting something a lot earthier from this. This is a very mild blend, nothing really unique or outstanding about it that sets it apart from other oolong teas.
It’s rich and like the simple taste. It’s good for the skin.
perfect! Its what I drink every morning for work instead of coffee.
A delicious tea! One of my favorites! It has a great light flavor.
A very satisfying afternoon cup. Reminds me of afternoons in friend’s kitchens in Lincolnshire. I love it with milk.
This is one of those teas that don t require a sweetener because it tastes sweet enough on its own. However, I used stevia anyway amd it s even better. Well, at least for me. A great tea for those who don t want sweeteners/enhancements.
A very pleasantly flavored tea, with no bitterness. I could see myself using it as a base for all kinds of blends.
Very smooth. I was able to steep it twice, easily.
Nice earthy scent and flavor, a smooth oolong. Tastes more like a black tea than your typical oolong, and a quality blend overall.
nothing really to write home about, here, but a solid basic oolong with a lovely finish
One of my favorite Oolongs, Formosa Oolong holds its flavor with milk and sugar for traditional tea drinkers. Steep a little longer for a fuller bodied cup of tea.
Maybe not my cup of tea ;)...I am just learning to appreciate Oolongs, so I may need another couple tries. For now, a bit veggie and I am not getting any of the notes out of it as described. Remember, taste is relevant and your mileage may vary :)
Nice and earthy. I like this as an after dinner tea.
Oolongs from Taiwan are my favorites, and this is no exception! It has a lot of rich earthy, autumnal flavors and makes a great iced tea.
I love taiwanese oolong tea. This one was solid. Nothing really to write home about, but a good cup with no complaints. I don't know...maybe I was just spoiled by the formosa bai hao. Nothing lives up to that one.
My son loves oolong tea and really enjoys this one...
My favorite oolong, it is robust without being over powering. Seems to have more caffeine than the average oolong. Delicious. A daily drinker for sure.
Good solid oolong. Has a soft sweet taste on the palate. At times a subtle cinnamon taste reveals itself if left to steep for a little longer. Hard to make a mistake on this tea as it is very
forgiving if overstepped. Solid everyday tea.
I enjoy this occasionally and like that it can be steeped several times. Has earthy, barky notes that others have described. I've had a few really expensive oolongs and this one works fine for me.
Tastes like damp vegetation on wet granite. Cannot recommend.
A smooth Oolong... I love sipping something like this after meals!
A very smooth, beautiful oolong. It s toasty and earthy, definitely something different from any of my other teas.
I decided to try this and a couple other oolongs after sampling and really enjoying fuijan rain. Just wasn't a fan of this one. It's definitely not bad, just not the oolong for me. If you're new to oolongs and didn't find this one to your liking, give fuijan rain a try. Grapefruit oolong and golden flower are good choices too.
This is my favorite oolong tea I've tried so far! Great flavor, good for 2-3 steepings.
Delicious earthy flavor! Definitely buying this one again.
