I prefer green oolongs. And this oolong is just too astringent for me. I'm glad I tried this but I won't order it again. Definitely an earthy, toasty flavor. If you are a black tea fan who wants to try oolong, this would be a good one for you.
A darker oolong tea from Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa (which means 'Beautiful'). Deep raisiny and ripe fruit aroma, autumn 'leafy' note. The lingering flavor and smooth, refreshingly fruity astringency and a lovely introduction to Taiwanese tea.

Formosa oolong is a good everyday oolong. It's got a delicate mineral/earthy taste that is good when one is looking for an oolong for regular drinking.
This one was just okay for me. I'll drink the rest of the sample pack I got, but I don't know that I'll order more. It wasn't bad... but I'm not sure exactly why I didn't care for it.
An enjoyable oolong that is moderately strong, it mostly holds a woodsy-roasted flavor with small hints of fruitiness. I didn't find it to be sweet and it's not the smoothest, but the astringency isn't strong.
In the middle of the day, when I come in from working outside, Formosa Oolong is just right
Delicious. Delicious, delicious. I love this tea. Perfectly balanced and cozy, and just amazing. No complaints.
My favorite tea right now. No bitterness and a nice earthy tone to it. Smooth.
Autumy, earthy and toasted. Not as rich as other oolongs I have drunk.
This is really for people who like oolong. It has somewhat of a milky finish and can be bitter but I liked it. It's definitely worth a try.
Fruity, esters, enjoyed as a sampler. Unlikely to buy in bulk, but I liked what I tried.
This is a very well rounded oolong. I doesn't get too strong and it doesn't taste dirty.
I wasn't expecting to like this much based on the description, but I was curious so I gave it a shot. Glad I did! There is a dusty earthiness to it underscored by some fruit notes which combine to be quite pleasing. I'm enjoying it.
Deep, rich, refreshing. This is everything I look for in a tea. I could drink it every day!
I think I'll need to experiment with it a bit more. it was my first oolong cup of tea, ever. I thought for a moment I'd mistakenly grabbed a black tea! The color was rich and dark.
It was pretty strong which I wasn't expecting.
I don't think I've ever disliked an oolong before, but I didn't like this at all. The dry leaf smelled burnt, and not in a Lapsang Souchong or hojicha kind of way, and when I steeped it, it didn't taste good. Disappointing.
Oh, how I love this tea! Great for that first cup of the day, or an afternoon break. Smooth and delicious!
Not one of my favorites to drink straight, this oolong is excellent for making milky iced tea! It holds up well to long steeping times and has smooth fruity undertones~
This tea re-brews really well. However be careful not to oversteep as it can get bitter.
Probably my new favorite tea. It's rich and dark without any bitterness. If you're a fan of black tea and want to try something a little different, give this oolong a try.
So fresh and very refreshing, just the way Formosa oolong should taste.
This tea is very good, if you like oolong. It has a rich flavor and I would highly recommend it.
Very strong for an oolong. You need quite a bit to make a decent cup.
Very good. Best oolong I've tried and good to drink anytime.
I was surprised by this flavor. A great tasting tea and of course Oolong is good for you as well.
Maybe my palette is not as refined as the sophisticated tea drinker, but I did not find this tea to have a distinct flavor that sets it apart from the others at a similar price point. It's worth a try so get a sample and decide for yourself.
very nice roast aroma. I like this tea. I think it would be better in a gong fu brewing method that way you can taste the transition. not too sweet nice light earthy
you know that feeling you get, the day before christmas eve? when something in your mind keeps telling you 'oh tomorrows christmas!!' then you get that dull kick like 'wait no another day ...' thaats what this tea is to me. i love it but not to much. i will order it again tho
Very woody with some vegetable stem notes. Note this rating is from someone who rarely drinks oolong tea. Give it a shot.
This tea was just okay, I didn't hate it but I didn't love it.
This literally tastes like Autumn. It has a crisp and light earthy taste that I find perfect for a morning or early afternoon tea.
I think oolong is quickly becoming my favorite type of tea. Rich with a slight tang on the aftertaste. Perfect for a rainy Saturday afternoon!
A wonderful tea! It's no chore to drink several pots all by myself.
I like the warm fruity feel but tend to like the greener oolongs more.
The descriptive provided by Adagio is pretty accurate. Good tea overall, nothing particularly amazing about it, though.
This was a pretty nice tea for an inexpensive oolong.
Oh I wanted to like this and I just didn't. It smells ...earthy...fishy...and I tried but I didn't like it. Still tasted odd. I'm am still attempting different things, sometimes if you let the tea sit for a while and then warm it again it brings out other flavors. This isn't my fav and with so many options I prob would pass on this one.
This is probably the best tasting dark oolong for the cost. But to be fair, it is still an excellent dark oolong at any price. It is incredibly smooth with an underlying sweetness that makes you want to brew cup after cup. For me, the Formosa bai hao edges this one out due to its greater depth of spice, sweetness and floral fragrance. Nonetheless, the Formosa Oolong is now my daily go-to oolong tea -- and it is equally great over ice.
this tea taste like plain tea leaves, but is good for helping to mellow out the flavor of stronger oolongs and black teas
A nice light tea for when I want something lighter than regular black tea, but also not green or white. Caffeine also tends to bother me in various ways, and the fact that this has a lower level of caffeine is great too.
This is not one of my favorites. The flavor is ok, but not for me. I'd much prefer the other oolong offerings.
kinda tastes like soggy leaves, but maybe you're into that? I was hoping this would replace an oolong i found while traveling that i fell in love with :(
A nice oolong, and I can readily taste the flowery notes. Not as good as the dancong aria, but a very good choice for those unfamiliar with oolong teas.
Not a big fan, but would be willing to drink it occasionally. Didn't have much of a 'kick' for me, but you may feel differently.
This tea is really nicely flavored, perfect for the fall.
Good Great tea, fantastic aroma, earthy taste with colorful color.
Oooh, oolong. Pretty, rich color in the pot and very 'October' in the mouth.
I've had oolongs in the past and always enjoyed them. This particular oolong has a sweet aroma. Color is a very deep brown much darker than other oolongs I've seen. Taste is slightly sweet with a smooth mouth feel and mild fruit after note.
Very nice veggie flavor. this was a bit more complex than I expected and was a nice variation to my normal earl grey every morning.
So far, one of my favorite oolong teas from Adagio. Very rich flavor and aroma. The second brew is also very tasty, although more floral. I highly recommend.
A nice tea with good balance. And the price is right.
