Formosa Oolong Customer Reviews

A darker oolong tea from Taiwan, formerly known as Formosa (which means 'Beautiful'). Deep raisiny and ripe fruit aroma, autumn 'leafy' note. The lingering flavor and smooth, refreshingly fruity astringency and a lovely introduction to Taiwanese tea.

★★★★★

Oolongs are my favorite teas and this is one of the best. Lovely aroma and flavor.

★★★★★

I am normally a black tea drinker, but I have been searching for an oolong tea I can enjoy on a regular basis for the health benefits. I think I found it! This tea is delicious!

★★★★★

The tea-east tea I've had the pleasure of drinking. I was able to get a good two brews out of this savory tea. Again, I'm in love with dark coffee shots and mixing one in over a few cups of this brew was so tasty. Listen my guy, if you want a well rounded tea- give this one a try!

★★★☆☆

Not bad, but not great either. I don't think I like oolong, generally. Too bland, I think. I used it to make tea eggs, which worked out fine.

★★★★★

I got this tea for my husband and he loves it. It has become a new favorite in his collection.

★★★★★

Very earthy, very smooth, slightly sweet and fruity. Smells and tastes ike autumn.

★★★★☆

Very tasty. Has a light earthy note to it. Very smooth.

★★★☆☆

Not a very strong tea but tasty anyway. A gentle taste bud tickler flavor.

★★☆☆☆

Not the biggest fan of this oolong, I am used to the flavors from Monkey Picked or other floral oolongs.

One of my top two favorite Oolong teas. Has a nice mellow, spinach-like floral aroma.

Very grounding, earthy tea. Good if you've had a stressful day.

★★★★☆

I loved this tea very much. I preferred it warm, not really Hot and not at all cold.

Have to try this tea you will fall in love!I will buy this one again for sure!

★★★★★

I would drink this all the time if I could. I am in love with the light teast.

★★★★★

One of the best oolongs I've ever had. It's very full-bodied and rich, and almost sweet enough by itself. I just added a tiny squeeze of wildflower honey and it was absolute perfection.

★★★★★

A really nice oolong. Tolerant of a wide degree of water temps and steeping times, and good for multiple steepings.

★★★☆☆

Very earthy oolong, a good tea, just a bit too plain for my taste

★★★☆☆

Ok

It wasn't my 'cup of tea' even though I can't say that it is bad.

★★★★☆

This is quite good. I like oolong for a change. I still prefer the black teas overall though

★★★★★

Fragrant and grassy and light, this is a good mid-morning tea

★★★★☆

This was my first oolong tea. It's good and earthy with a mild sweet scent and it has a nice little bite to it at the end.

★★★★★

Formosa oolong is probably my favorite oolong. It's smooth and sweet without a bad aftertaste.

★★★★★

My favorite of the most recent samples I've tried. It's earthy with a hint of sweetness.

★★★★★

Classic taste that I remember from my first visits to Chinese restaurants. Solid flavor, smooth with a brief bite. Delicious!

★★★☆☆

Nothing special, has a taste similar to restaurant black tea. If you are looking for a rich, smoky flavor, go with the hoji-cha instead of this oolong.

★★★★★

Nice earthy flavor. Great for multiple steepings.

★★★☆☆

I enjoyed the rich character off this oolong but found it a bit lacking when it came to any dominant flavor notes. Even with ample leaf it was just okay for me. Beautiful looking leaf. This was a second attempt at this tea as I had tried it with the Formosa sampler years ago which I had enjoyed more back then.

★★★★★

Probably my favorite out of the sampler, had to get more of it.

This is an ideal oolong tea, with a slightly earthy flavor.

Wow, another great tea. I plan on making this one a regular when we give tea to our friends.

★★★★★

This is my favorite tea from Adagio, and my favorite overall tea.

I am a big fan of oolong teas, but in my way of classifying them, there are two main types (both of which are available here): brown and green. If you look at the photo of the leaves, you'll see that they are brown. To me, this tea tastes fine but it also tastes like inexpensive Japanese 'bancha.' I'd go for one of the greenish oolongs here on Adagio instead.

★★★★☆

This tea is very different from others that I have had, but it is in no way a bad thing. It was very smooth, but also had a slight bite to it (as contradictory as that sounds) as well as being perfectly bitter. Definitely much stronger than I expected but still good all around

★★☆☆☆

I wasn't a big fan of this flavor. There was something very basic about it's burnt/bitter taste. It almost tasted like bag tea, when you can taste the bag more than the tea.

★★★☆☆

I'm not a huge fan of oolongs, but this is a nice change from black tea.

★★★★☆

clean not too strong flavor not too bad tea dgsdgfg

★★★★★

This is a great tasting tea, especially good for those cool evenings.

★★★☆☆

I thought this was just okay. It has a smoky taste but when cool enough has chocolate notes as well. I'm not a big fan of smoky teas but if that's your thing then you may enjoy this tea.

★★★★★

This is my husband's favorite tea! He fell in love with the flavor and requested that I buy more so that he can drink it daily!

I got a free sample of this tea and was pleasantly surprised. This is a solid oolong tea. I will definitely reorder. Thanks for the sample.

★★★★★

A bright, clean tasting oolong. Perfect for everyday drinking.

★★★★★

My sister loved this one! She's become a fan of oolongs so I sent her this one with her first infuser

★★★☆☆

Pretty standard oolong - not bad, not exceptional.

★★★★★

First oolong tea i've had, and it was a good one. Not overpowering and not too weak. A nice alternative to black tea.

★☆☆☆☆

I don't know who would rate it as oolong.. It's closer to bad pu erh by its taste of stale leaves. Looks too dried. Definitely to avoid.

★★★☆☆

As someone who dislikes the taste of tea in general but drinks it for it's health benefits, I found the Formosa oolong inoffensive.

★★★★★

A lovely, light oolong. Perfect for early morning study sessions. gets you put but its not too dark

★★★★★

This is a great, standard oolong that I keep in my tea arsenal. I love the flavor, and it's versatile enough to be mixed with other teas if you're feeling adventurous.

★★★★★

A very full flavor but not bitter at all. I wish I had bought a bigger bag!

★★★★★

Not my usual style of tea, but this one's really nostalgic...it tastes like the tea that was served at my favorite 'fancy' Chinese restaurant when I was a kid.
