One of the best Oolong teas. Great flavor, smooth taste and always a winner.
This Taiwan tea, also called Fancy Formosa Silver Tip or Oriental Beauty, is one of the world's most prized oolongs. More heavily oxidized, yielding luxurious floral, peach-pit fragrance. Incredibly sweet and lush, delicate warm spicy undertone.

One of the best Oolong teas. Great flavor, smooth taste and always a winner.
Interesting tea - I enjoyed it. In simplest terms I would describe it as toasted gardenia flowers with an earthy yet sweet undertone. Be careful with the heat and steep time or it will turn bitter and lose its characteristic nuances; I suggest lowering the suggested temperature of 212* to 190* and brew gongfu style; initially brew for 30sec then incrementally add 10 seconds on additional steeps. I successfully steeped the same leaves 5 times - each steep presenting slightly different spice notes and slowly reducing the honey sweetness - but the floral tones remained throughout.
For me this is a complex and enjoyable tea not meant for drinking on the go but suited to a quiet and contemplative moment.
Was looking for more floral taste. Just taste like a nice light herbal tea.
A really flavorful formosa that really brings out the toastiness of the tea leaves.
This is really good. It may be a bit more oxidized and closer to black for some, but there is not bitterness or drying effect for me. It has a beginning floral note and the taste of how autumn leaves smell at the end.
I put quite a bit of honey in mine, and it was decent. Without the honey I was not a fan at all.
Absolutely delicious! My CommuniTEA adventure has opened my eyes to oolong over the past few months, and today’s was another excellent sample! Light, smooth, and fruity, this tea is definitely on my must buy list!!
Rich. Smooth. Nutty. A fantastic Oolong with a fantastic flavor.
This came in the July CommuniTEA box, and it may be the best oolong I've ever had. It has a smooth, complex, autumnal flavor, and it just tastes expensive.
I love oolong teas and this one is so good! It definitely deserves its nickname “Champagne oolong”.
Mild flavor, quite vegetal for an oolong. Almost floral, or fruity at the beginning but finishes like a typical oolong. Very interesting tea!
Great oolong taste and definitely one for multiple steepings. I even tried it chilled with some Tupelo honey and it was good, but not as good as it is when it's hot. There's a fruitiness too it that I wouldn't pin down as peach but I can see why others taste it that way.
I’m not a fan of Oolong. I find it and this tea to be too heavy. Almost reminiscent of coffee in it’s boldness.
A great oolong to try. Different tasting than most other oolongs that I have tried.
Maybe I'm just a plebeian, but after I tried this tea and also gave it to my boyfriend to sample, my overall impression was that this oolong was remarkable for how unremarkable it is. If it was a regular grade tea it would get 5 stars, but for the premium price I expect something more striking like the ali shan, or white darjeeling, or pu-erh poe, or gyokuro.
I really loved it! Smooth, deep, and the epitome of what a good unflavored oolong should be. That being said, if you hate oolong, don't try this thinking it will convince you to like oolong. It is still oolong. I happen to like oolong, so five stars for me.
Oolong teas are almost always 5-star teas for me. This one tasted bad. The smell reminded me of those cheap $1 instant Ramen meals that the grocery stores sell. The taste wasn't much better. It's almost like I'm drinking a completely different tea from the one that the other reviewers are describing. I'm not getting any of those flavors at all.
Can never go wrong with an oolong. This one has a subtle fresh earthy taste that held up to multiple infusions.
Extremely nice tea. Perfect for when you just want a “cuppa .” This would be my go to for a non flavored tea
I didn't love this tea. It was very plain tasting to me. Nothing special.
Very nice oolong tea. Even before I steeped it, the leaves had a rich aroma. I didn't taste the sweetness that others mentioned, but once I added some Splenda, it turned out to be a really nice cup of tea.
Delicious tea. Almost biscuity in flavor. Fabulous.
It's hard to describe what this tastes like, but it's hearty and flavorful. A bit of sweetener really brings out the flavors, but could probably be great without it as well. I'd definitely think about buying it again.
It's just a good strong cup of tea.
Brewed using the Oolong setting on the velociTEA.
Delicious tea. Reminiscent of a black tea, though not quite as strong or astringent. It doesn't have the grassy flavor some other oolongs do.
Lovely scented oolong. Less flavor than expected. Slightly toasty with a bit of rich honey notes. A decent oolong.
Nice and soft and simple. Nothing but tea in this and it's really good on it's own. My taste buds really liked it.
I usually love oolong teas. If I could review without a rating I would - I am visiting a place where the water tastes like hose water which is ordinarily not a problem for me but I do think it may be interfering with the taste of this one unfortunately
Good- I had this with a splash of milk
Just a great tea. Added a bit of Splenda but extremely drinkable and I will probably be buying this in the future as I wish I could’ve had more than the one taste.
This is exactly what tea should taste like. Smooth, sweet and dark tea flavor at the same time.
This is a rich flavored oolong. I was able to make a small pot of tea with the Communitea sample. Has a nice, almost creamy taste, with hints of spice and sweetness. As always with oolong teas, I drank it without sweetener/sugar so I can't say how it would taste that way.
The honeyed sweetness of this tea is undercut with an autumnal spiciness. Not your average oolong.
Incredible and smooth oolong tea. Will definitely be buying more soon!
I received a sample of this as part of the July Communitea. A different taste than I am used to. It reminded me of a black tea, but with a slightly sweet after taste. I prefered it with a little sugar.
Not much of an oolong lover, admittedly. It had a very simple taste to me.
I always forget about oolongs and how much I enjoy them. This is a wonderful, calming tea. Great for a peaceful morning.
I sampled this tea as part of the July CommuniTEA. The flavors are very similar as to what’s described. I really enjoy the fruitiness that you get up front and it lingers for a long time after you sip.
It is very good here, but I do not prefer floral tees and this definitely has a floral aftertaste. If steeped correctly though it comes out beautiful
I’ve been really happy with all the Adagio Oolong teas I’ve tried!
Kinda has more black astringency than I'd like- it seems to mask it's better flavor attributes.
This is a very nice earthy tea. Smooth and tasty!
This is a perfect summer tea. The peach flavor is outstanding!
This was a new tea for me; I gave it a long brew (four minutes at 195F) as I am fondest of stronger infusions. It's a little light, but the aroma was particularly delcious-- peach and something almost like what I'd scent from a Keemun, a little earthy and very nice. After a few minutes I added a bit of fresh-sliced lemon and a small amount of sugar (back away, purists! I drink my tea like I like my tea!) and I believe it improved the flavor, intensifying the peach in particular. Very nice; not a wake-me-up tea, but a good evening tea when you want something light and soothing.
This is my 'start my day' tea and the one I always have on hand. I love the sturdy flavor and the caffeine of this blend. This is my personal all-around favorite caffeinated dark tea.
Nice smooth flavor with a slight peach sweetness. Peach pit sweetness is a good descriptor since it’s not overly peach flavored, but just a little bit. It’s not my type of tea but I can see the appeal for other people. Worth a tasting.
I think I still prefer oolong Formosa to this, though that may be a personal thing as that one brews up better dark. This is a toasty, fruity tea that, when brewed in a way a bit less brash than me, should offer a wonderful, smooth flavor.
This really is one of the best teas I ever had. Worth every penny. I will reorder
I didn't like this at first, but the flavor grew on me by the third cup. It's a musky tea
A very solid tea that made an excellent tea. A was able to steep once more for a very different flavor and layering profile. The third steep proved mellow a tea for me.
Delicious with a very light, earthy depth. I thought it was actually better the for the second steep... could drink it all day. Awesome stuff.
