I was so excited to get this tea. However, I was not as happy when I tried it. For some reason the smell was much more of flowers, than of tea. The smell was to overpowering of flower-scents, and nothing cherry or almond smell. It even tasted like strong smell of rose flowers. the strong scent of roses was all I could taste and smell. No nutty or oolong flavor. I will not buy this again.

This is a very tasty tea! Nice cherry flavor, which works well with the almond flavoring. Will definitely purchase this in greater quantities next time.

The rose petal was too strong for me. When I got a sample packet I loved it... it was like a cherry turnover. I hardly noticed the rose petal in the sample. But when I got a full size packet, it seems that's all I could taste. Which was a shame, since I REALLY loved that sample packet.

Really good. I love the cherry flavor and it has just a hint of vanilla. Reminds me of cherry pie with whipped cream on top.

This tea sounded wonderful. Marzipan and cherries. How could I miss? It smells wonderful. I have brewed it several times, as an iced tea. I made it strong, made it weaker, added tart Cherry concentrate juice. It is tolerable as a weaker tea. Not a favorite though.

The flavor let me down, it smells strong but doesn't deliver what the package says.

This is such a lovely cup of tea. It seems overpoweringly sweet smelling but the tea itself once you’ve brewed it is amazing.

Much more cherry flavor than almond. I think cherry lovers will like this a lot, but it's a bit too overpowering for me. Still a pretty good tea though!

Rich earthly oolong dominates the flavor profile of this tea with just a hint of tart cherry and sweet almond. Nicely balanced.

I liked this one a surprising amount. The package smells strongly of artificial cherry but the cinnamon is noticeable after steeping. When steeped for 3.5 minutes, it tastes mostly like a wild cherry candy flavor with hints of earthiness and comforting cinnamon. It was better after adding sugar and letting it cool a bit, but it was great either way! I'm glad I have a sample bag so I can have more, but I couldn't imagine finishing off a big bag very quickly.

The strong cherry scent starts from the moment you open the dry tea. I found brewing at the recommended boiling temperature made the cherry flavor overpowering, and instead opted for 200, which I use for my darker oolongs. Brewed tea is a medium brown color, and still smells heavily of cherries. The cherry flavor is in the forefront, and almond notes mix with the oolong base in the background. The lower temperature helps to make the tea more balanced and less artificial cherry flavored like one of my sample cups. When the tea has cooled, the cherry backs down and more of the almond can be noted with a slight hint of rose. Tastes even better with a little Amaretto flavored honey added to bring out the almond flavors. Brewed at 200 for 5 minutes.

June 23, 2021 Update: The new cherry flavor tastes much more like actual cherry, and the artificial taste is no longer detected. Still really can't taste the rose, which is okay in my book.

I still feel the same about this tea,, I'm on the fence with this one. My steep feels extremely weak and I don't really taste anything but medicinal cherry flavors. I think I'm going to take my sample packet I haven't opened yet and just try to mix it with other teas to find what I truly thought this would taste like. I really wanted that almond flavor to come through so maybe mixing with almond oolong will do the trick.

Nice blend of cherry and almond flavors in this oolong tea. I steeped at 190°F x 3 minutes, and sweetened with a little honey for a lovely dessert tea. I didn't note any rose or cinnamon flavors. Enjoyable sipped hot or chilled. Added cacao nibs to my second steep for a chocolate layer. Edited 6/23/2021: Enjoyed a second sample in the CommuniTEA, which evidently has been reblended. Since I had a sample bag in my cabinet, I did a taste comparison of the old and new blends, hot and iced. The aroma of the dry tea was similar. The new blend had a few more apple pieces in it. I steeped both at 2g/cup at 190° x 2 minutes. The cherry flavor is a little more forward in the new blend, but it still only a hint of cherry. I added sweetener to enhance the fruitiness. In both blends, the flavor is better as the tea cools. I prefer it iced over hot--unless I add chocolate to the steep (which transforms the tea into a dessert).

I was so excited to try this CommuniTea packet based on the ingredients list, but this tea is just not doing it for me! The smell and taste were both strongly floral and fake cherry-ish. I can't pinpoint the almond, but I've had it on its own before and I suspect the very sweet flavor is not helping in this blend. I just can't get past the strong rose flavor, and the cherry/almond is too cloying. Oh well!

Update 6/23: Apparently there may have been a change to the flavoring in this blend. I liked it slightly more than the last time I had it, but I still wouldn't buy it. With milk and sweetener I didn't mind finishing my cup, but I still find the very floral, kind of cloying flavor combination unpleasant. It reminds me of perfume too much, I think.

This tea had a very 'soapy' taste to me. I was excited when I saw it because I love both cherry and almonds and unfortunately I could not taste either in this blend.

As soon as I opened the packet, I knew this was cherry marzipan oolong. I like this tea, it has a strong cherry presence with a hint of rose and almond in the background. Today I took a suggestion from Tammy N and added chocolate tea. The results were quite nice, the chocolate elevated the tea a bit. Happy sipping!

Update: This time around I enjoyed this iced. I like it! I must have a thing for cherries 😊

It smells strongly of candied cherries, like you'd find on top of an icecream sundae. It risks tipping into the territory of smelling like medicine, but the buttery almond scent and the oolong save it from going over that unpleasant edge. The brew itself is a dark bronze color, and it tastes far lighter than the tea smells- though this may be impacted by me experiencing loss of flavor from a recent dental procedure. Oolong has a bit of a flavor profile I'm not fond of, but this has been the most enjoyable one for me yet.

Upon trying it again in a different CommuniTEA box, and with cream available to me, I can say this one is not at its best without the cream to bring more of the flavors to the forefront and make it taste like the treat it's trying to be. I am not an oolong purist, and upon this hill we die like men.

This satisfied the cravings of my inner child for the day. Lots of big, bold flavor, starting from the aggressive waft of cherry and almond scents when I opened the sachet. There is some delicious cherry flavors in there, but I had to hunt for them a bit because it was almost entirely overwhelmed by whichever elements are responsible for the almond-extract-punch-in-the-face.

Many reviews equate the flavor/scent of this blend to cough syrup, and I agree to the extent that the smell of alcohol makes my nose-hairs dance, present both in cough medicine, and oddly, this tea.

I would have loved to substitute some of the almond flavors for some chocolate ones instead-- would have been great as a cherry cordial.

I had received a few sample the other day and now it is our CommuniTea for today. Mostly cherry aroma coming from the packet, reminds me of a red lollipop, that artificial red smell. Upon brewing, there was a very strong cherry scent that filled my kitchen. Upon tasting, I got a tart cherry taste and very little, if any almond. I was thinking that this would make a great iced drink with a twist of lemon or lime.
Update 6/22/21 This came up in CommuniTea again today. I still smell the red lollipop from the packet. I did cold brew today's packet as well as the sample awhile back . Really enjoyed it iced !

I honest to goodness don't taste anything here but faint rose! Cherry? Uh-uh. Marizpan? Nope. What an odd little tea! In the packet it is a scent explosion, to the point I was really worried the taste would be extreme. Guess that worry was for nothing! I can taste high quality oolong, because I do love Adagio's oolongs, but the featured players have left the stage. I was REALLY looking forward to this one so I feel like a game show host should show up and that big WAAA WAAA noise should sound in the background. C'est la vie, right? Happy Sipping!

UPDATE: Well, this quirky tea is back in our CommuniTEA box and I still can't taste the cherry. BUT, after adding honey I did get much more of a dessert/marizpan taste which was pretty yummy. So, I increased my rating a star because I like the new taste enough to classify this as good. Happy Sipping!

This tea was best as a hot tea. The cherry wasn't very strong as a hot. Luke warm/cool, the cherry was stronger. The oolong made the tea almost taste like a chocolate covered strawberry

I was so excited to try this one because I love cherry and almond, but it was a let down. There’s not enough almond flavor to balance with the cherry. The addition of cinnamon and rose just ruin it as far as I’m concerned as it gives it an air freshener smell/taste. I think I’ll order some Almond Oolong and just experiment adding it to Dewy Cherry on my own.
Update: I like the new improved cherry flavor. I still don’t think the cinnamon and rose belong so I took them out this time. It was much better without them.

Very light tea, not a lot of flavor. Also not a cherry or almond fan (except when on their own, fresh/dried), so maybe that's it.

Update 6/23/21: i think the cherry flavor is now less intense and I can taste more almond. I do like that!

4/19/21: I enjoy this tea. I like oolong, and I like cherry. The marzipan is a bit hard to place and can get lost in the intense cherry flavor. I think there’s a hint of almond flavor that’s more like the nut itself than “marzipan”, which personally I prefer. I have also tried cherry green and dewy cherry, and this tea has a more mild cherry flavor than those two. Good variety if you like cherry. I brewed this at 212 for 4 minutes and haven’t tried altering that but I do think you could cut the intensity of the cherry a bit by brewing for less time at a slightly lower temperature. I also plan to add a bit of almond oolong at least once to try upping the marzipan flavor out of curiosity.

The best thing I can say about this tea is that it tastes way better than it smells, because when I opened the packet, my nose was assaulted with the aroma of cough syrup: the very specific 'cherry' flavor of the worst tasting cough syrup. This did not improve as I brewed the tea. Bravely, I continued. I was pleased to find that the tea did not taste like cough syrup. The cherry flavor was much mellower and balanced with a creamy note, though I also found it to have a weird aftertaste, which could be the rose. It's not worth dealing with that smell to brew it.

Update: With a little milk, this tea is a bit better. However, the cherry flavor is still cloying and artificial.

Strong cherry and almond scent in the packet. Once brewed the cherry and almond flavors are the most prominent. Some sugar smoothes it out and makes the cherry flavor more authentic. (3 mins @ 200°F, 1/2 tsp sugar)

This tea is delish. A bit overpowering cherry out of the communiTea packet but brews to a wonderful balance of cherry, almond and a touch of cinnamon. Had it plain first and found it to be a perfect late morning tea. Added sugar to the second steep and it was a yummy afternoon snack. I have never had marzipan but if it is anything like this tea then bring it on!
June 23 2021 update: Was surprised to find this in my CommuniTea packet as we just had this 2 months ago. Reading today's chat, it seems like this is take 2 for Adagio as they try to tweak the cherry flavor which was off-putting for many first time around. I think the cherry is more subtle this time around and am picking up a little more on the cinnamon. Still a tasty tea that I am happy to sip.

4/19/2021: I cashed in points when it was offered in the rewards section prior to election day and lived to regret my decision. My past haunts me today. I decided not to oversteep this one so I can get a more accurate taste. My daughters thought it tasted like cough syrup. The almond flavoring salvages the tea from being worse. If you hate cherry flavored cough syrup, you need to pass on this one. UPDATE 6/23/2021: This tweaked version was an improvement. The almond flavor came through thanks to the lessening of the cherry flavor.

Update 6/23/21: The updated flavor on this is much better. The cherry is much more subtle and doesn't remind me of cough syrup. Not sure if I used the same ratio of water to tea as last time, but it's a less aggressive, 'in your face' flavor. The ingredients are blended better. I can drink this on its own now without needing to mix it in with something else. 5 minutes @ 212. Added monk fruit sweetener.

Original review on 4/19/21:
This is definitely a strange tea. In the bag and my packet, it smelled disgusting like cherry cough syrup. I was very hesitant to make it on its own, not blended with anything. Steeping, it also smelled gross. I steeped it at 200 for 3.5 minutes. I added less sweetener than usual, since I wanted the flavor to be as mild as possible. Once it cooled down a bit, it tastes decent. Drinkable. Soft cherry flavor with a nutty almond in the background. It still smells bad, but not as strong. I think this will probably be better for me blended with the chocolate. Will save that for another day though. Enough cherry cough syrup for today.

This tea has an absolutely delicious smell, and I wish it tasted as good as it smells when I cold brew it. Its not bad, but not something I would buy for myself. Maybe this would be better hot, as it has quite a bit of cinnamon taste to it.

When I opened the packet, I mainly smelled cherry, rose, and oolong tea. I didn't smell any almonds. I brewed the tea at the recommended 212F for 4 minutes.

I could definitely taste the cherry, rose, and oolong tea. However, the almond was still missing. I drank this tea without sweetener as I didn't find it particularly bitter or in need of sugar, but now I'm wondering if it would have brought out the almond flavor. I wouldn't recommend this tea if you're looking for a strong almond flavor, but I would recommend it if you enjoy cherry flavor.

Too much fake cherry flavor. This tastes a lot like cough syrup with the sort of scent of cherry-almond lotion.

Update to my previous review below: When hot, results were similar to my previous review, using the ingredients in my 23 June 2021 communiTEA packet this time. However, when the tea was warm, very heavy cherry flavor overpowered others, even the rose, to the point that I couldn’t finish the whole mug. I love cherry, but this was just too much in-your-face!

19 April 2021 Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Since I had an Adagio sample pouch on the shelf already, I decided to use it for an even-steven and fair “all players are present” communiTEA review this morning. Strong cherry aromas were noted.

I used 3 grams of tea from my pouch, for a 12 ounce steep. I steep dark oolongs at 200°F. I pulled the steep at four minutes, when color depth was to my liking.

When hot, moderate rose flavors were noted. Cherry and almond flavors were mild. Tart rose hip flavors were mild. The oolong provided a smooth mouthfeel. I added some sugar to allow flavors to bloom and sweeten the mix.

When warm, mild marzipan almond flavors were noted. Rose flavors were strong and forward. Moderate cherry flavors were noted. Cinnamon tongue zings and flavors were moderate.

A little Rose flavoring is authentic in the making of marzipan. But in this blend, the rose and cherry overpowered the marzipan flavor. (4 mins @ 200ºF, ⅜ tsp sugar)

This is a pleasant, comforting tea, just begging to be a bit more. Straight from the bag, the cherry is a bit overwhelming, and the almond fights to be noticed. But add just a bit of chocolate tea to the party, and it’s everything I dreamed of in a chocolate covered cherry tea! It just needs that personal touch to make it special.

Update 6/23-Apparently Adagio has tweaked the formula using the customer reviews. The cherry flavor has mellowed just a bit, allowing the almond marzipan flavor to shine and balance. Well done! I’ll keep this one on hand!

The tea tastes nice, but had an overpowering cherry scent that reminded me too much of a Jolly Rancher. That smell was off putting, but the flavor was more balanced than the cherry scent. It was sweet without adding any sugar and had a nice almond flavor. I just struggled to get past the scent.
