This is my new favorite. The almond and Oolong character complement each other nicely. The flavor is rich but also not too heavy. A splash of milk is nice but mostly I drink it hot/as is. I will definitely order again.
Savory almond with Taiwan oolong tea. Smooth, nutty aroma, full and rounded body, sweet marzipan flavor.

Very nice tea. The almond hit your nose right as when you open the package, but becomes very subtle when you drink it. I don't like artificially flavored tea but this one works.
i didn't actually try this one. after an awful morning of my tea steeper cracking in my cup, getting leaves all over the floor & everywhere, the smell hit me as something awful so i tossed it out. almond isn't for me i think.
I guess I'm not a fan of Adagio's almond flavoring. This just tasted fake and cloyingly sweet to me. Oddly, I loved the maple creme oolong, despite not being a fan of overly sweet teas, so I think it's just the fake almond flavoring that's not working for me.
I liked the taste and it didn t have a strong almond scent @adagioteas
I don't like almonds. I got a sample of this in an oolong sampler, and it was one of my top faves! Add one sugar and you're drinking a delicious cup of those little Mexican Wedding Cookies. My coffee loving boyfriend always asks for a cup when I brew a pot!
I really like this oolong. It’s a nice afternoon tea and holds up very well to a 2nd steeping (I haven’t tried a 3rd, yet). The almond flavor is noticeable without being overpowering.
Pretty good. It could use more toasty almond flavor though. @adagioteas
Full body tea. Like it and I would recommend it without a doubt.
Strong sweet smooth tea - the almond and Oolong work well together and it's become a surprising favorite. Full strength for a decadent afternoon tea, or mixed half with Keemun for a sparkling change-up to my morning -- and it makes the Almond last longer.
I see other reviewers add honey for a marzipan-like dessert tea - I've yet to try that. The tea is pretty sweet on it's own. Also, it probably should be brewed a little cooler - I've just been following the instructions on the bag but other reviewers are recommending 190ºF. (Or maybe they're just being more honest about the temperature in the pot, rather than the water when added?)
A nice oolong with subtle but noticeable almond flavoring. I prefer oolong that is rolled which is why I took off one star.
This tea has a very strong marzipan scent. Works better as a blend rather than on its own. I like to mix it with cocoa nibs to balance out the natural sweetness.
I like this tea a lot, but I wish the Almond flavor was just a bit stronger.
This tea taste like amaretto to me personally. really good with ice-cream @adagioteas
This tastes like marzipan, and I love it. I was excited to try it in the first place as I really like almonds, and my expectations were exceeded :)
I love almond anything, and this almond oolong tea did not disappoint. It is a great balance between the oolong tea and the almond flavor. Just perfect for a cold winter afternoon.
One of my favourite oolongs… I love to turn this into cold milk tea with a lot of sugar and soy milk. I often half it with formosa oolong for a better balanced flavour.
This tea is great for people who are fans of almond extract. I do wish that it had more of a well-rounded flavor.
I was very excited to try this as were my daughters. We think the flavor is pleasant but lacking. The almond flavor is so subtle that it is barely strong enough to enjoy. That being said, I like strong teas with plenty of flavor. This felt kind of like getting a C on an English paper when you thought you would get an A.
Such a wonderful oolong tea and fabulous almond flavor. @adagioteas
Good when mix it with other, not so much in drinking alone in my opinion
In the packet and while brewing there is a scent like almond extract and almost floral. Happily the flavor is less strong, not overpowering at all. This is a fairly straightforward flavored tea, although as with most flavored teas I find at least some sweetener helps define it. The flavor does not change as it cools. This could be seen as one-note, but it’s a pretty tasty note. I understand why it works well in blends.
A lovely single-flavor oolong. No competition from a variety. Good for the tea stash!
I love oolong and I love almond flavored teas so its no surprise that I liked this tea. The almond is subtle but noticeable and the oolong is delicious. I liked this one so much that I steeped it twice just so I could have another cup! The second steep was just as good as the first. I used boiling water and steeped for five minutes both times. No bitterness at all - lovely smooth tea.
Yum this tea was super delicious I love it a lot with honey and oat milk
This is a really good tea which surprised me since I don't like almond flavoring. I was able to make 2 cups and add them together to bring to work. Honey and cream also helped.
Upon opening the packet, I noted a sweet almond aroma. My packet included 3 g of tea leaves.
I added 11 grams of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 190° F. I steeped my tea for 3 minutes.
Slight taste of almonds was noted initially. As the tea cooled, I noted that the almond flavour had become more apparent and lovely.
I had thought at first that this tea would not have enough of an almond flavour, but was quite pleased with how it tasted by the time I finished it.
ive never had an almond tea so i wasn't sure what to expect with this, but it was nice and smooth! cream and honey really brought it to the next level though! would be great with some lightly sweetened dessert
This tea was a winner for me - and I am not the biggest fan of almonds or almond flavored things. The almond flavor comes through as a warm nuttiness, and is not at all overpowering or unpleasant. Oolong teas are one of my favorites, smooth and robust. This would make an excellent milk tea or milk boba tea if someone wanted to drink it iced! Warm, comforting and exactly what I needed.
The scent brings to mind marzipan / almond paste. Thankfully the oolong balances out the almond so the flavor is strong enough to be recognizable but not overwhelming. This has good potential for blends.
I prefer this in blends instead of by itself. Just something a little off with the almond flavoring for me. I have tried this a few different ways now. I like it best when made into a dessert tea. I add sugar free cinnamon vanilla syrup and a bit of sweet cream. This combo turns this tea into a lovely dessert reminiscent of marzipan cake. I usually don’t add cream to oolongs, but it really helps the flavor of this one. By itself this tea is a 3 star, but with the above additions it elevates it to a 4 star. Steeped 4 mins at 200º. Cheers!
The almond aroma as well as the taste was really good. I did let it get cold and prefer to drink it that way instead of hot.
The almond and oolong flavors compliment each other. The almond is somewhat mild and doesn't taste artificial. I prefer the almond black tea though (as a typically prefer black tea).
This almond tea has just the right amount of natural sweetness and no bitterness. My favorite almond tea so far.
2022-01-12 Update:
That familiar marzipan aroma greeted me as I opened the packet. This time, I looked forward to the cup, because I knew it wasn't going to be overwhelmingly sweet. Plenty of rich oolong tea flavor balanced well with the almond. I think I'm really starting to become accustomed to this tea! Yum!
2021-10-11 Review:
Marzipan aromas fluttered up out of today's packet as it opened. A quick steep for 3 minutes at 212ºF created a coppery auburn-colored oolong tea.
Always a favorite around the household, this almond oolong blend lives up to its name with plenty of almond flavor and scents. The steaming cup gave off marzipan aromas while it cooled enough to sip.
The first sip was packed with nutty almond flavor, nestled alongside a full-bodied oolong tea. Mild levels of oolong tannins followed by a nice and neat yet mild astringency on the finish.
Overall an excellent almond-flavored tea! I'm not a huge fan of marzipan, as it can sometimes be rather cloyingly sweet. However, this tea manages to pull off a fully unsweetened almond flavor while remaining well-balanced and complex.
It was a wonderful tea! It very much reminded me of marzipan and I wanted to pair some chocolate with it to remind me more of my favorite candy in Germany, Mozart chocolates. Note: This was from a free CommuniTea sampler.
Sometimes, in a blend, I have found that almond flavoring can be overpowering. Here, in conjunction with the dark oolong base, it works well. The almond flavor is present but not overdone, and it offers a natural sweetness to the oolong which is smooth with no bitter astringency. On a second steep, the almond flavor is more subdued but still present and a touch nuttier, allowing for some dark chocolate notes from the oolong to come forward. Though sweetener isn't necessary, a touch of honey plays well with the almond, enhancing both the flavor and the natural sweetness of the tea. Despite it's balanced almond flavor, it is, as others have observed, a little johnny-one-note and lacks the complexity of other teas, which, I would argue, would make it a great team player in blends. (4-5 minutes @ 190F)
This one is good on its own. It's mostly oolong with a strong almond scent and a hint of almond taste that can be brought out further with milk and sweetener.
You can taste almond and it smell good too(“ (212 @ 3 min) love this one this a great tea tea.
Another favorite for me.The almond scent was outstanding and the flavor was there, yet not overpowering. A nice smooth cup of tea. I really enjoyed this tea, had 3 delicious cups that were smooth, not bitter or astringent.
1/12/22 Tried gongfu cha and enjoyed every infusion. Started at 30 seconds and added 5 seconds to each steep. The almond flavor subsided after the first two steeps although the aroma remained for several. The 3rd and 4th where strong and mineral. The 5th was smooth. It held up for a few more steeps. I really enjoyed experiencing this delicious tea this way.
Spritz cookies are my favorite holiday treat so this tea is a favorite of mine. I really enjoy the almond flavoring in the warm cup of yumminess. I especially love this tea with a splash of oat milk and a drip of honey. A sweet treat in my day!
This tea is simple, smooth drink with a distinct and enjoyable taste of almonds. It has a sweeter taste that pairs very well with honey.
Sweet and minerally…the perfect blend! Oolong provides a robust background to the sweet vanilla notes of almond.
Very enjoyable almond oolong. Great cuppa to start the day! Brewed at 195 for 4 minutes. Delicious. UPDATE: Love this tea!!!
A nice tea but nothing super special. I think it would be a nice base for another complementary flavor. I would like to try it again at a lower steep temp as mine was slightly bitter. Would try again though!
This tea was tasty but just not for me. Not a big almond fan. If you like almonds, you'll most likely like this tea.
Almond Ooblong is a very mild, one dimensional tea. It reminds me of almond extract, taste and smell. The flavor is good just not what I'm into.
I generally don’t care for oolong teas but this one is very tasty. Light almond flavor pairs well with the oolong. I would buy this one
CommuniTEA Sample: Good Oolong that has some nice, natural almond flavor in it. I do prefer real almonds, but understand the need to keep things nut-free in the warehouse. I steeped it for a lower temp (190) and only 3 minutes instead of 212 as the package says.
Not a huge fan of almond flavoring, but this was pretty OK.
