Uji Matcha Customer Reviews

Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

I give it 4 stars because I am a huge matcha fan, but I don’t know as I tasted a big difference between this and the other matcha.

★★★★★

This is a “master” tea for a reason! Definitely worth the splurge, s delicious matcha.

★★★★★

This is my daily matcha and it's amazing. Not bitter in the least, it has a deep, robust green flavor with rich mouth feel.

Love Matcha tea. A nice lift without the big coffee crash. I need to make it more often than I do. I don't have the special whisk and all that. I like to add it to morning smoothies.

★★★★★

I have tried a variety of matchas from local stores and online sources. Adagio's Uji Matcha is a fantastic taste and at a decent price for what you are getting. I recommend.

★★★★★

The best matcha i have ever made. Not muddy, crisp green color. Perfect.

★★★★★

I drink ceremonial grade from an other brand , which I love. I used adagio matcha as well before trying Uji matcha and this one is as good as the other brand if not sweeter. A good matcha for sure, sure to be a masters tea.

Stronger and greener than the regular matcha. You really have to know what you're doing when you prepare this one.

I love this matcha! Very smooth and sweet. While it tastes great it's own, I also like to mix it with lemongrass and ginger. I find that the water sufficiently cools to a temperature agreeable with matcha after 10 mins of infusing time for lemongrass and ginger. I make matcha separately then add to mix with just a drop of honey and almond milk. Don't know if I will be able to get all the time with the price but will certainly try. On health benefits note: I find that it is calming yet helps to remain alert. It also has helped in my weight loss goals where was struggling before. Since starting matcha I have lost 17 lbs in little over a month.

I've had Matcha from several different brands, including Teavana, and this one is my favorite by far! It is so subtle, smooth, sweet, and vegetal tasting (Similar to fresh cut grass, but not as strong. It is already a beautiful, fine powder that doesn't really need sifting--but you can if you are very particular.

I have already used my first canister and re-purchased this tea!

★★★★★

This matcha is amazing. I love the regular matcha from adagio and this one is even better. Very smooth with a strong flavor. Definitely worth the price for matcha fans.

OMG!! Best matcha EVER! It is absolutely fabulous and I have tried quite a few. So refreshing and it doesn't taste like you are in your front yard eating your grass! It is so smooth and velvety. Highly recommend. Will be giving this one for gifts.

★★★★★

The best of all matcha teas. I prepare it every morning

Great quality matcha. Deep and flavorful. Gives me a wonderful burst of energy in the morning. The only bad thing is that the tin is designed so that some of it always spills on opening.

good stuff. I am glad that I purchased adagio's top grade of matcha, because I am not quite confident I would be as pleased with the cheaper options. I did not have a proper whisk, but still got a frothy texture with a fork.

Great for a macha style tea. Requires brisk stirring and a little extra time keeping the clumps away. Well worth the extra effort.

My previously purchased matcha was slightly better and tended to clump less.

This matcha is wonderful. . .I have no complaints. I can't really taste a difference between the other, less expensive matcha which I also bought on adagio. I think all of adagio matcha is of high quality. Next time I will stick with the less expensive variety.

I have had to acquire a taste for it. I like the peach and raspberry flavors the best so far. However, I am new to matcha so my reviews may change as I become a little more experienced with this tea.

Here is why I will continue drinking it every single day: I have been making matcha lattes for breakfast every morning. I use 1 cup of 2 % milk, a dash of half n half, no sugar. It's extremely satisfying and holds my appetite easily until lunch. Not only that, I have a tremendous amount of energy which I feel is a direct result of the tea. My very picky and skeptical 16 year old daughter has been joining me every morning and agrees, the matcha is definitely an appetite suppressant and an energy booster!

This was my first Matcha. I figured if I was going to try something then I wanted to make sure I got a good quality so I didn't base my opinion off of bad product. I expected an almost seaweed/alfalfa flavor but was pleasantly surprised. This tea offered a full bodied, earthy taste with a creamy finish. I'm so excited to add this tea to my morning routine.

I've only just started preparing matcha in the more traditional way, with the whisk and all. I've really enjoyed this matcha so far, but I think I need to fine-tune my preparation a bit in order to get more out of it. It's some darn fine matcha, in any case!

Update: I've gotten better at getting the matcha-to-water ratio right, as well as using the whisk, so I'm better able to enjoy this matcha. When it's done right, it has a tingly, tangy sort of subtle effervescence to it, and a terrific flavor overall. It also, of course, makes a great green tea milkshake, as well as some tasty honey-vanilla-matcha oatmeal. :)

★★★★★

I really like the regular matcha here and think it's a good value for how much you get, I didn't think there was much room for improvement but this is actually even better. It's smoother and tastes amazing. The only downside is the price but I guess you get what you pay for. I'll probably still order the other matcha since it's great and more cost effective, but I'll certainly be splurging on this again. Highly recommended for matcha lovers.

★★★★★

Bright and smooth: this matcha has 'stick to your ribs' quality that lasts all day!

★★★★★

I have tried many brands of matcha before and this is the best.

★★★★★

The taste is smooth and silky and has that little extra bite that a green tea can have. I'm addicted to this tea. Also, pro-tip, this has really been helping to soothe the stomach problems I have been having recently.

I love this ceremonial grade matcha, I'm spoiled now on it now. I would drink it every single day but that wouldn't be healthy lol.

★★★★★

This is a fantastic tea. I balked at the price but read the reviews and must agree the sweet grassy taste is delicious. I drink it without adding sugar but look forward to acquiring some local honey to try with it.

This is the best matcha I have ever had. Even better than a tin i bought in Japan. The powder is the brightest and most pleasant green color I have ever seen in a matcha. It blows my mind, and i have to restrain myself from opening the tin just to appreciate the aroma constantly. The taste is exquisite and complex. It is not bitter like most inferior matchas i have had. It is sweet and grassy and deeply complex. The nuances reveal themselves slowly, leaving a dynamic flavor experience in my mouth. This is definitely ceremonial grade. It is so smooth, and really comparable to the finest green tea mochi I have had, not to mention the health benefits eating the tea leaf has. The aftertaste sticks around for a good long while. This is one of adagio's absolute best teas and extremely deserving of the masters title. I must applaud adagio for they truly excel in their green tea from what I've had. 10/10 <-- (Very Rarely Given by me)

This is delicious. I tasted a sample at a local store and it is mind blowingly good. I don't usually love the straight up matcha, but this is such a lovely beautiful tea.

★★★★☆

Great matcha! Gives me a boost of energy and tastes great!

★★★★★

We tried this in the Chicago store during a tea tasting and were totally blown away -- got some to make at home (that's the real test, isn't it?). Slightly sweet, very green and a depth of taste and flavor that's unbelievable. Can't wait to try it with a dab of honey to enhance that natural sweetness.

This a very smooth and flavorful Macha - my favorite!

★★★★★

I'm usually not a matcha fan, but this stuff is good. It's got this sweet, chocolate taste that mellows out the grassiness, which is exactly what I wanted. A little above my budget to drink every day, but definitely good for a treat.

★★★★☆

Matcha is easy to enjoy in so many ways. Even if this didn't have great antioxidants, I'd love it.

★★★★☆

One of my new favorites for sure!!! I just started drinking matcha, and this is the exact flavor you think it should have!! I drink this before my morning workout to give me an extra boost!

★★☆☆☆

Perhaps I didn't make it correctly because I didn't like it. Generally matcha has a very vegetal taste but this was bitter. It also had a darker color than what I've had before. This wasn't my favorite matcha.

★★★★★

Was looking for alternatives to coffee and came across a recipe for green tea matcha powder latte. The flavor is excellent and you can use the powder to make cold drinks too!

★★★★★

Drink this uji matcha tea first thing every morning...love it...

I love this matcha this is my first purchase for matcha! I bought it for the health benefits, and honestly find I feel better and have a greater focus on completing tasks especially mid afternoon. The flavor is earthy, I will usually sweetness it with just a bit of agave nectar. Very good flavor, I am drinking it at least once daily. Will get again. It is a little pricey but lasts a long time since you use very little per cup. Am going to put this on my birthday and Christmas wish list!!

★★★★★

Mild, creamy, sweet. I love this matcha and save it for days when I really want to treat myself. Sorry to see it go til next spring!

I can't taste the difference between this and one of my cheaper organic matchas. That doesn't mean it's bad... it just wasn't the game-changer that I had been led to expect. Maybe I'm not enough of an enthusiast, but this was not worth the additional price. Furthermore, much of the tea is in clumps that are impossible to un-clump. The tin was nice, though, and I'll definitely be reusing it.

★★★★★

amazing, dark green, sweet, creamy grassy mouthfeel and taste

★★★★★

Delicious sweet grassy flavor and well worth the price. Yes it is even better than their other matcha.

Definitely worth the extra money over 'regular' tea. This tea reminds me of a smooth vegetable soup.

★★★★★

This is about as good as it gets. Creamy, frothy, foamy...smooth. Matcha perfection.

★★★★★

I love it with almond milk, a little honey and ice for an iced latte.
