Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

More expensive than the regular ceremonial one on Adagio, and only worth the extra coin if you have a REALLY refined palette. I’m not one of those people. Don’t pretend to be fancier than you really are and save yourself 10 bucks.

Best matcha I have ever tried. My wife normally gets the regular grade matcha from Adagio, but for special occasions and gifts I get her this Uji Matcha and it's always a favorite.
This matcha is superb. It has a fantastic smoothness, slight fishy undertone, but in a very good way. The matcha has delicate grassy notes and is not very earthy at all, which I have gotten from other matchas. This is my favorite tea.
It's a little more expensive than the other matcha varieties but it's worth it. Beautifully earthy and creamy.
This Matcha is an experience. The vivid color and grassy smell when you open the can, the rich creamy feel in your mouth from the first sip, the boost of energy that is smooth and like an internal hug. I can definitely tell it is caffeinated but it doesn't have a crash like coffee or energy drinks, instead you just know the matcha has worn off and you feel a little alone.
ETA: I bought some less expensive matcha elsewhere. It was not good. I realized if I had tried that first I would believe I didn't like matcha.

This is probably the best matcha I've ever had. Such a nice flavor that isn't bitter at all and a stunning color; I love making matcha lattes with it. It's a pretty hefty price though, so I try to save it for special occasions.
Got a buttery green flavor to it with a hint of sweetness that isn t overwhelming. Definitely a higher quality taste compared to some other matchas I have tried.
I tried this as a splurge for myself. Had to use a regular fork to mix it, but seemed fine. I prefer black/oolong teas, but can imagine this being a daily favorite for anyone who likes greens/matcha. Might also consider using as a backpacking tea since it’s very lightweight and a little goes a long way.

This is an absolutely beautiful tea. I'm exceedingly picky about my matcha, and this does not disappoint at all. I suppose it shouldn't considering it's a ceremonial grade. This is one I absolutely won't share because I love it so much. There's something very relaxing about making a cup of it, and drinking it wakes me up. A word of warning for matcha newbies --- your first mouthful is going to taste like grass. Yes, it tastes very GREEN. But keep drinking. It grows on you. (And yeah, it's okay to add a little bit of rock sugar to sweeten it if you don't like the constant flavor of a freshly-mowed lawn.)
Very rich and comforting but also delicate and invigorating. Grassy, yes, but I also notice aromas of seaweed and honeydew melon. Dissolves well and froths up nicely. I like Adagio's regular matcha too, but find this one a little more complex.

Was expecting a very high quality matcha given the price but sadly its poor quality matcha and packaging that holds it is not air tight at all.. Maybe it was once good match but too much air has interacted with it.. I expected Much Much better tea than this.. A nice uji matcha, but the powder seems to clump together, even with the appropriate tools for making a cup of matcha tea. Flavour is nice and smooth, I can drink it down with ease. The only bad part is the excess powder at the bottom of the cup, but that can probably be alleviated with more water or less tea powder.

The Uji is really nice. I don't know if it's worth the price premium (the difference isn't mind-blowing) but it's still one of the better matcha powders I've tasted.

Awesome. I drink a lot of matcha and have tried at least 30 brands and this ranks at the top. It is smooth and creamy. Not bitter at all just smooth from beginning to end.
Yum! Tastes delicious. I can tell the different with this one. I really like that it is smooth and it is really easy to brighten up with a little bit of honey. I drink this one as a latte with almond milk every morning - hot or iced works well with this one!
This matcha has a very nice taste to it. I bought the other Matcha which was good but this one had more flavor to it. I found that using a sifter for matcha helped not to have any clumps and it seemed to mix up easier as before there seemed to be some settled in the bottom. This matcha makes a nice smooth cup of matcha tea

It’s missing that slight sweetness that matcha of this grade should have. It’s very smooth, and not overly bitter. Does foam nicely too. The only thing I question is why the matcha in the tin isn’t sealed. When I opened it there was green powder all over the plastic wrapping on the tin.
