Matcha has become a teatime staple for me! It quickly became my new favorite tea.
Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

Matcha has become a teatime staple for me! It quickly became my new favorite tea.
Amazing matcha tea. Tastes Fresh, would highly recommend!
Vibrant green and flavorful! I bought the sample size to make lattes and keep myself from dropping $5 at a coffee shop, and this was a perfect match.
I can't say enough about this tea! It is a vibrant green color, and has the classic bright green grassy taste. I have prepared it hot, iced, and mixed with sencha. It brews a cup so green it almost looks fake, but one sip and you know it is the real thing. Smooth and creamy, I would say this is one of my new favorite teas. The tea itself is a very fine powder with no debris or leaves. The tin it came in was quite useful for storage, and the lid makes a tight seal.
I tried a matcha tea latte at a cafe and enjoyed it so much I wanted to make my own. This tea is wonderful!
I enjoyed this Matcha quite a bit. Vibrant green, and froths nicely. I have ordered this several times and probably will continue to.
I don't use this for tea, I have been adding to banana smoothies to make a green tea smoothie
I do not have the required equipment to make this tea properly. Had I known I would not have purchased
Though I'm not big on green teas, I like the ceremony of making a nice bowl of matcha. This is the first matcha I've tried so I can't compare it to anything else, but it makes a great bowl of tea and feels invigorating to drink.
I think I enjoy the process of making matcha just as much as I enjoy the matcha. Not to strong or grassy, very pleasant.
This is obviously very fine tea. I only purchased the bamboo wisk because it's very fine and I wasn't sure I had anything already that compared. I've been able to live without the other accessories. The tea is not as naturally sweet as I expected it would be and you need to drink it quickly or it will settle. All that being said. It's a fun treat. It was described to me like 'the espresso of tea' that sums it yup. A quick blast of flavor and caffeine. It's fussy but fun.
I absolutely love this matcha! I've lived in Japan for 10 years and it is high quality, authentic matcha. I use it nearly every day.
Tried this one for the very first time. I heard it was the healthiest tea you could drink. I got it for my dad for Father's day since he's been trying to drink a lot of green teas lately. It takes an acquired taste at first if you've never had matcha, but I'm growing to love it.
Just learning about matcha. My first sampling of it and I like it a lot.
I've honestly only used this in a blender for my morning shakes so far. I'll try brewing it and will report back once I do. This matcha is far better than another industrial-grade brand I've used, so I just ordered a full-size bag of it.
This Matcha tea is the real deal. It is light and has a floral like undertone. Oh and did I mention it is packed with many health qualities plus energy!
I used this matcha for classic hot tea, latte, and frozen blended drinks, and I commend it! I haven't had enough matcha to consider myself able to compare (in fact, I've only ever owned this one) but it suited what I needed it for spectacularly. It's a fine, bright green powder that blends very well. The only hangup I might have would be the price, but a quick Google will tell me that this high-end tea usually breaks the bank even more. Five stars!
It had a strange aftertaste that was off-putting to me, but I think I used too much tea in my cup
Definitely the most 'green' of green teas I've ever tried - vegetable flavor in a good way. Turned out a VERY vivid color, too.
I'm new to matcha so I was afraid I just wasn't going to like the stuff. I've had it before but I think it was brewed wrong because I hated it. I made this stuff, quick, simple, and delicious. I would recommend this to anyone.
This is my absolute favorite and you can add it to any drink and even bake with it!
This is the first and only matcha I've ever bought to prepare at home. I like it so much I hardly ever buy matcha when I'm away from home now.
When im rushing in the morning a milk frother whips this up quick (not the traditional way but it works).
This was somehow my first experience with Matcha but it certainly will not be my last. I tried it hot and iced while in the store. Since purchasing this Matcha, I tried a few other brands and none compared to the quality and overall flavor of Adagio. The other brands did not get frothy like the Adagio does. It makes a great start to each morning. I definitely recommend it!
Best tea ever!! I have it every morning and every night
The perfect matcha. Greener than green, the expected matcha bitterness with sweetness underneath. I had it iced with almond milk.
I never had this before. I am hooked - this is delicious.
My first matcha. Not a fan, at least not yet. Too 'green' for me, but I'll try it mixed in with some juices which I've done before and liked.
This ine is awesome.. Keep me alert without any jitters.
I have use this every day for two months and feel my spring alleriges were much less then those around me.
It is fairly creamy but I add some milk and sugar to it.
The quality of this matcha doesn't seem to be quite what it used to be. I would give it 3.5 stars if possible. It is still a really good price for what you get, especially the 1lb size.
I have made drinking a cup a Matcha first thing in a morning as part of my daily routine. I feel more energized during the day and am starting to feel the other benefits from drinking this tea regularly.
I bought the 16oz bag of matcha because I love the taste and quality of it. I would highly recommend this to a friend and will buy more when I run out. My reason for giving it 4 stars over 5 is just the packaging of it. The seal on the bag can get caked with matcha dust and effects the ability to fully reseal it, I just clipped the bag though and it's working fine.
Makes me feel happy and creamy and just in a great mood.
A delicious tea with a lovely flavor that reminds me of a buttered biscuit. It also has a very nice body to it. This is my favorite afternoon pick me up of late. I've gone through my 2oz in just 2 weeks!
this tea is a little tricky, be sure not to use too much and you would need to REALLY like green tea to enjoy this!
This was good matcha. Very fresh and green tasting.
Perfect for the 'frappuchino's' I wanted to make for my daughters! And.. i just used tonight to make green tea cupcakes and icing!!! OMG !! so good!!!
Loved this matcha! The price was very reasonable and it dissolved and blended well.
Wonderful full flavor. Easy to prepare. Great Iced.
It came out as a very smooth tea with lots of green tea flavor
The tea has a great umami flavor and I love it with almond milk + stevia. Gotta get some red bean paste for a milk tea sometime...
I'm still working on improving my matcha preparation methods, but even prepared by a beginner like myself, this tea is very good. I seem to enjoy my matcha a bit weaker than is standard--I tend to use a little less than a teaspoon for my 8-oz. bowl. I have the bowl and whisk (traditionally, chawan and chasen) that Adagio sells, gifted to me by my brother, and I love them! I have found my matcha to be a little bitter, but that has improved with methods-tempering. I do sometimes like to add a little touch of honey in with my tea, as well; it makes for a nice sweet tea without needing much! I also have the peach matcha, which is very good with just a subtle peach flavor, and I'm looking forward to trying the chocolate variety!
Bought this for my daughter. She likes it. Drinks it plain or with Soymilk and some sugar. Not sure how hot the water is when she makes it.
A wonderful matcha, with that lovely vitalizing balance of sweet and astringent!
A day without matcha is a day without sunshine. Adagio's matcha is really mild and creamy. I've had others that are bitter. You won't find that here.
Wow, this is fantastic! I was entirely prepared to hate it and just drink it for the health benefits, but it's sweet and melting and gives an amazing boost of energy that really adds a lovely pop to the day. This goes right to the top of my regular order, especially since it turns out everyone in the house has been sneaking their own cups. Five brilliant stars!
Selicious and earthy. Great as a base for lattes! Worth every penny.
Delicious and earthy flavor :) Great quality matcha!
I had to make a few cups to finally get it right but, I got it right. What you have to do is make sure you have the right temperature of water. Break the clumps up thru a strainer and not use too much water. (3 to 4 ounces) Then, which with the bamboo whisk vigorously as if you are frothing it and not just stirring it. You should have a good thick layer of froth on the top when it is done. Done right, this drink is unique. Done wrong, it tastes kind of like hay.
