I love this mate blend! This was my first mate, and I love the blend of spices included in it. If you like chais and wanted to try out mate, this would be a wonderful place to start.
Wonderfully sweet, spicy and buttery smooth chai.
There were a lot of ingredients in this blend, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The end product in my little sample was a nice full cinnamon taste with a hint of almond. I was very pleasantly surprised, and I really liked it!
This tea had some unique flavors which would make it really good component of a blend. On its own it was just missing a little something
Trying along with the CommuniTEA: Very strong cinnamon with ginger, almond, and other spices noticed from dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 5 mins at 212° F, I noticed similar cinnamon, ginger, and spice fragrance from my cup. When I take a sip, I get an interesting mixture of fruit and spices. Notes of mango, orange, almond and subtle lemongrass on the front with a cinnamon, ginger spice on the finish. Typical medicinal rooibos and herbal yerba mate characteristics are well hidden. My only criticism is that the cinnamon is too strong for me. It lingers around well after cup is gone.
The aroma on opening the bag was warm and lovely. Brewed at 212 8 Min. The spices overwhelmed it for me (there is something underlying I can't quite ID-perhaps cinnamon)--will try a second brew, but I have to remember I'm a green oolong drinker primarily though I have drunk chais in the past occasionally.
A spicy chai blend that gives an energy boost somewhere in between a black tea and coffee. Good warm cuppa for a cold chilly day.
A spicy cup of goodness! I like the flavors of the Yerba mate blended with the chai spices. This tea is slightly sweet on its own. I added a splash of oat milk and a drip of honey which made the cup even more enjoyable for me this morning.
I’m not a rooibos fan yet, but this blend is nice. There’s enough spicy cinnamon, lemon grass, ginger, cardamom, and yerba mate to satisfy my tastes. This tea was thoroughly enjoyable from the first smell when the bag was opened to the last swallows of my second cup. There are a lot of flavors in this blend and they swim around nicely together in the cup.
I really liked the rooibos tea flavor with the added Chai spice. There is a flavor in the background which I can't identify. The tea was good hot and cold.
Another great tea. I love the spices in it. It was great to sip on after being out in the cold and wind.

I'm a high caffeine drinker so like Yerba mate teas. I wish the spice was a little more gentle and the other flavors stronger but still a good tea.
Adding this one to my favorites! I love the spicyness and the mate that just perks you up!

1/17/2022 - This tea does taste great and I really loved it. But, I have found that my body just can't handle mate...I get jittery and even shake. I drink a lot of black tea and coffee daily, but mate, for whatever reason, is too much for me. Love it...but not drinking it anymore. Great tea -- but not for me.
This tea is smooth and subtle, at least when rinsed then brewed at 165 for 7 mins. It has a nice, mellow blend of spices and an aromatic note that reminds me of almond cookies. The spices tingling the young for a while after the sip. I don't think I would notice much difference from White Chai except for the mate-induced buzz/heart palpitations. This tea is delightful with a spoonful of whipped matcha honey and definitely tastes more unique with that addition.
The smell is great. If you like chai order this. Unfortunately I am not a chai fan so the sample will be the last time I taste it.
Fairness disclosure, I am not a mate fan. However, this particular blend has enough other tasty elements that the mate is in the background and it works very well. I still tend to get a little bit of jitter from mate but I don't get from Camellia Sinensis, so it's not something I drink normally but once in awhile it's a nice variation on a mild fruity chai.

I mix this 1:1 with Raja Oolong Chai and voila. Recreated the famous teavana tea I have been trying for years to recreate.
Very distinctive smell, like herbs, peppercorns, and pineapple all at once. Light and spicy, not harsh thanks to the lemongrass. Really nice iced, great mixed with Raja Oolong Chai.
Just as wonderful as I remember it being at Teavana. And, like some of us did back then, blend with the White Ayurvedic Chai to spice it up. Even better with a bit of honey or sugar.

I mix this with the Raja Oolong and it tastes just like the Teavana sample. It's my go-to daily tea.
This is a really tasty tea! I was expecting the cinnamon to be far too overpowering--and it definitely drowns out most of the other flavors, admittedly--but its not nearly as potent as other chai type blends I've had. Granted, I also used a single serving to brew a 2-cup pot; I reckon the flavor would be much stronger if I'd stuck to a single cup.

This is easily one of the best teas I have ever tasted. The almond flavor really stands out to me. I loveeeee it. It reminds me of the Teavana samples when mixed with White Ayurvedic Chai.

This tea has a unique, light taste that I enjoy drinking in the evening. The blend of flavors provides a pleasing aroma as well as a tickle for the tongue.

This is my husband's favorite tea. I'll be honest, it's not my first choice, but it's so unique I think you'd have to try it to know if you'd like it! Grab a sample! I would give it a 3.5 stars and my husband would give it a perfect 5.
It’s a good tea. I was hoping it would replace the Teavana tea and another chai mate I used to enjoy, but doesn’t quite match. It’s still a tasty mate tea in its own right.

This is a pretty good chai-like blend. It's a bit lighter in flavor being a mate but still good. I like this sweet, like a chai.
I have been looking for the perfect tea combo to recreate my favorite old Teavana blend. 2 parts of Raja Oolong Chai mixed with 2 parts Samurai Mate and 1 part Masala Chai is the money combo. Spicy, warm, and delicious with a touch of tropical sweetness from the Samurai Mate. Super delicious even though I am still trying to get my full taste back from having covid a few months ago.
The smell was sweet and pleasant prior to adding water and the taste was smooth and mellow. enjoyed very much

I recently got back into tea and I missed my favorite Samurai Chai Latte from Teavana. This is... not really as much of a dupe as I think, but it's also delicious, with a lovely fruity taste at the forefront, and the spices lingering afterwards. It's naturally sweet too, and needs little to no sugar from this sweet-seeker.
This is a fantastic chai. It's light & smooth. The spice notes are there with a wonderful cinnamon aroma. It is overall very light on the tongue & is an easy sipper for me. Great blend!
