I blend the Samurai Mate, Masala Chai, and the Raja Oolong Chai together to make chai lattes and it's great!
Traditional yerba mate elegantly balances the spirit of chai spices with the essence of tropical fruit undertones.

I blend the Samurai Mate, Masala Chai, and the Raja Oolong Chai together to make chai lattes and it's great!
Smooth and light with a bit of fruit - lovely morning tea. Blends well with The Spiced Mate tea!
I absolutely adore this tea. I admit that I'm the type who adds a bunch of sugar/honey/maple syrup to my teas, but this tea doesn't need all that. I use a huge mug when I drink tea (16fl oz to be exact), and two teaspoons of sugar is perfect. Honestly, I could probably put one teaspoon and it'd be just as good (I plan on trying that next)! This tea is spicy, sweet, and invigorating. Perfect any time of day. I used to love the Teavanna Samurai blend when I used to visit the mall when I was younger, and this is kinda like that, but I honestly think it's better. I will DEFINITELY be buying it again!
I mix it with white ayurvedic chai in equal parts and it makes a great tea.
This tea smells like cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom. As the tea steeps, I can smell the fruit pieces and cinnamon across the room. The fruit pieces make the tea sweet while the cinnamon, lemon grass, and cardamom give the tea a wonderful spice that is stimulating. I add a cube of sugar to bring out some of the fruit flavors. I got this tea in the small sample package for being a first time customer, and now I order the 16 oz bag. The caffeine levels are very high, so it was an easy replacement for coffee.
Love the taste. Love the energy boost. Great alternative to coffee in the morning.
One of my favorite morning teas! Robust flavors wake me up and ready for the morning!
Trying to figure out if I like this one. The chai spice with tropical flavors creates an interesting combination, i think it's important not to oversteep this one because the flavor can be overwhelming if you let it get too strong.
My favorite yerba mate tea. The yerba mate flavor is present but masked by a spicy cinnamon lemon zing. Kind of like a lemon chai with a hint of mango/pineapple on the finish. A great creative way to get refreshing kick of caffeine without the acidity of a black tea or coffee. @adagioteas
I realllly like this tea. Hot tea better than cold brew.
Amazing amazing amazing! A new household favorite. Herbal tea never tasted so bold and memorable.
This has been one of my favorite teas I’ve had and have had. I have been looking for this blend again forever!
Gives a decent caffeine kick with the Yerba mate but has a nice fruity and spicy notes.
May be the best tasting beverage I've ever had. It's fruity and fresh and spicy in a perfect balance. You can feel the complexity of the flavors morph into something greater as each one stands out along but compliments the others. I love to make a pot and just let it steep for a long time.
Good. Not my favorite of the mate teas but nice enough with milk in the morning. @adagioteas
tried this for the first time ever after purchasing a sample and I don't regret it! a delicious tea!
I bought this as a sample for my boyfriend. It didn't even last a week. I think I may have to buy him a large stock of it in the future.
It's years later but to me, this tastes almost exactly like the Teavana Samurai Chai Mate. I'm so glad another company started making it after Teavana went away. Thank you so much Adagio!!
Delicious! I was absolutely amazed but how much I enjoyed this tea. I definitely recommend it!
Originally got this as part of the Communitea box and my husband and I liked it so much we got a big bag!
Great day time sipper, caffeine and spicy flavor, all the things that you need to keep me vigilant at work!
My daughter wasn t feeling very well today and decided to stick to peppermint or other familiar teas to keep her stomach happy. She let me drink today s tea for her. I was a little hesitant at first, even though I have it on my wish list. It was amazing! I had to wait for the tea sugar and tea to blend a little, but I enjoyed this blend thoroughly. @adagioteas
I make 1:1 with raja oolong chai and it’s the best
Fantastic tea to bring forth some high energy! Big Fan!
เพื่อนชอบมากกก เครื่องเทศชัดเจน ลองชงแบบเย็นดูรู้สึกแบบร้อนดีกว่า
One of the best tea blends I ever had! Spicy and sweet at the same time with a subtle boost of energy but I can drink this at night and still sleep.
My first exposure to mate and it’s good. A bit spicy but if you like mate I’m sure yo like this one
One of my favorites I've gotten. Slightly sweet on the front with a spice that lingers on the back end but doesn't overstay.
if you like chai, then this tea is for you. Kick of caffeine and the spiciness warms you inside.
Used this as a 1:1 blend with the raja oolong chai to recreate the old teavana blend. I was able to get 3 steeps (each one cup) and it was still flavorful, could've probably gotten more.
LOVE this tea, the chai flavours are not overpowering to me… very earthy and complex. I love it with soy milk. It’s a very nice tea to wake up to.
Flavorful relaxing tea. We received it in a sampler and had to immediately order a bigger bag. If you like a multi level of flavor you will love this tea.
I have really been into mate teas lately while studying and this tea has been amazing. It has both a sweet and spice smell and taste to it that is perfect. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs that boost of caffeine and concentration with good flavor.
This is really good surprise the hell out of me because I don’t normally like a cinnamon HI flavor but this is so good
I had this one as part of the communitea box. Great spicy flavor!
I love this subtle but flavorful chai tea. It needs a long steep but it’s worth the wait! I am able to do a second steep with less water to continue the enjoyment!
I previously tried the sample and loved it enough to order a bag. The directions call for 1 teaspoon but I felt like it wasn't enough and the tea was more on the flavourless side. I'll use a larger portion per cup or steep longer.
I am not usually a fan of mate. But I really enjoyed this! I steeped at 195° for about 2 min. I added sugar and had a nice sweet fruity/spiced tea.
A delicious strong chai with fruit and nut flavors. The lemongrass and fruit in the blend offer a soft tropical backdrop to the stronger almond and chai flavors. The yerba mate and green rooibos tea bases lend a touch of earthy flavor while naturally sweet aniseed helps with being able to sip the tea plain. Almond’s nutty flavor and the chai spices, especially cinnamon, were the dominant flavors in the tea I brewed today..
All ingredients appeared to be in my CT packet. I brewed the 4 g/ 2 ½ tsp at 212*F for 8 min.to make 14 oz. The liquor was a beautiful golden yellow and had a pleasant scent of cinnamon and almond. I could sip the tea plain but a sweetener add of agave brightened the background flavors while amplifying the almond and cinnamon ones. The fruit flavors in the background brightened and softened nicely but weren’t strong enough to compete with the almond and cinnamon ones. A resteep of 7 oz. was enjoyable with more of a cinnamon taste. I chilled a mini cup to try and decided I liked this tea better hot. I love chai and the taste of almonds so this blend was a winner for me. The fruit was a novelty and very enjoyable when it peeked through.
This is very complex, enjoyable blend. It has a lot of ingredients that I'm not normally a fan of, but nothing here is overwhelming. All noticeably present, but they work well together.
Great multilayered tea with a kick of energy.
A pleasant mild chai with a tropical vibe and a whisper of almond. The fruity flavors add a natural sweetness. I steeped at 165°F x 5 min. Didn't notice the green rooibos. Enjoyable hot and cool. Very nice blend.
This tea is spicy and yet light at the same time. The chai is not overwhelming and the citrus is subtle. I prefer this to plain Yerba mate.
Mates aren't my favorite, though fruit-flavored ones are usually palatable for me. Unfortunately, the chai spices overpower the fruit flavors. Fortunately, the chai spices overpower the mate flavor haha. If you like strong chai and want a kick of caffeine this is probably for you, but I most likely won't be reaching for it again.
2022-01-17 Update: The naturally sweet and cinnamon-spice flavors were strong and just as good. I opted to steep in a mate gourd 🧉 this time. It turned out stronger and kept it up for multiple steepings.
2021-07-01 CommuniTEA Review:
Spicy cinnamon and orange aromas burst out of the packet upon opening with my samurai sword. 🗡️ Steeping as an herbal tea for 7 minutes at 212°F created a light translucent yellow maté liquor. A quick test sip let me know that the 10 minute steep is worth trying as others had pointed out. So, I put it back in for another 3 minutes to get more out of those maté leaves. The final maté was a nice cloudy yellow this time with a stronger flavor.
Cinnamon, cardamom and zesty ginger were first noticed in the sip. There was a natural sweetness present, most likely from the aniseed and tropical fruits. After the full 10 minute steep, the maté was detectable over the rest of the strong spices that were leaving a tingle on the tongue. The tropical fruit flavors and lemongrass were providing a nice sweet and smooth backdrop for those pungent spices to do their work. This is a nice strong and invigorating maté blend, perfect for a quick pick-me-up without the coffee jitters.
(10 mins @ 212°F)
I love this tea. It's slightly fruity and has lots of cinnamon flavor. It's fantastic plain, slightly sweet, and holds up to cream.
2022 update: a touch of sugar helped bring out some light fruit flavors. Still a bit strong cinnamon for my preferences but this sample was a better mix of flavors.
2021: Looking at the other reviews, it seems like I got an uneven mix in my CommuniTea packet. My brew was nothing but cinnamon. Hot and chilled, the cinnamon flavor was predominant. Wouldn't mind trying again to see if any of the fruits come through in this blend.
Very spicy- the smell makes me think of red hots. Not for me but if you like those I think you would like it.
it was a little too spiced for me, which is a problem with me not with the tea, i just prefer things to be a little more mild and dont tend to enjoy matés to begin with. if you're like me and happen to get some of this and end up not enjoying it, milk and sweetener (i used honey) milded it out
A high caffeine blend that is both a beautiful mate and also has light, refreshing citrus fruit notes. Clean, bright, powerful.
A good combination of spices, and fruits. It tastes a like a chai mate with a nice caffeine kick.
