I loved the spicy-sweet smell of this tea when I opened the bag, and it s still tasty when brewed, but a little weaker than I expected (using the recommended amount of tea). Compared to how it smells, I get more of the tropical fruity notes and less of the spice in the brewed tea, which is a bit disappointing, but it s still a nice blend. I ll probably brew to double strength and may add some extra cinnamon in the future. @adagioteas

Very interesting but delicious tea. I taste the spices definitely. I taste mainly the ginger, cinnamon, and almonds! The pineapple and papaya not so much but I think they give this tea an underlying natural sweetness. This is a very good chai especially as a latte or even on it’s own.

This was my favorite tea at Teavana so I was very excited to find Adagio had their own version. Straight out of the package it smells quite a bit fruitier than the original one, but I found once it's been steeped that's not really as noticeable. I found the flavor to be a little light (but I'm putting that one mostly on me because I don't think I used enough of it for the water) but overall it tastes almost exactly like I remember. Will definitely be buying again.

Perfect warming tea for a cool fall day. Very nice without sweetener.

This + White Ayurvedic Chai = my all-time favorite tea!!

★★★★★

This is a fantastic little chai. It's much lighter and smoother than most and I didn't even add any milk/cream to it. The spice notes are there with a wonderful cinnamon aroma. It is overall, very light on the tongue and is an easy sipper for me. Great blend!

This is a very unique tea. Spicy like a chai, but also somewhat fruity. Even if it is difficult to describe, it's an excellent mate tea. If you enjoy chai teas, you'll most likely enjoy this one. Mate teas tend to have a sort of spice bread flavor to me, and this one is no exception. Just a lovely, warm morning tea.

★★★★★

This is one of my favorites. I used to get from teavana and it taste just the same

★★★★☆

On it's own this is a lovely morning tea to jump start the morning. Mixed 1:1 with Gaucho Mate Chai and it is AMAZING. The combination strengthens the spice factor enough that I don't feel the need to add anything but milk.

★★★★★

Good tea.better than a energy.don't even need sugar or honey.sweet on its own.

★★★★☆

Delicious! Aromatic and flavorful, this tea is really good cold or hot. Spiced and citrusy, almost reminiscent of a spiced cider.

I loved this tea cold or hot but truly it was such a unique but awesome flavor

I did a review very similar to this one for the masala chai. Essentially what brought me to this company was the hope to find a copycat teavana blend and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I think my ratios for my first batch were a little off but it's the closest that I have found since teavana closed (I know another company owns teavana and some of their teas are still sold but it's not the same)

Originally got this in a sampler, loved the taste, had to reorder. I totally didn't regret it. Such a lovely taste.

What a wonderful fragrance prior to steeping - which carried over into the brewed tea - the anise, cardamon, cinnamon, ginger and lemongrass flavors were strong. Since these are flavors I love, I was very pleased.

Another fantastic flavor. This is a delicate and delicious green tea, I can't drink regular green tea anymore

★★★★☆

Fruit with a spicy twist. Was surprised by the temperature recommended as my past experiences with Mate typically used 150F, but it turned out great. Great with Raja

Not a bad tea but weak on flavor for my tastes. Spices are good.

★★★★★

This tea has so many different flavors! I've only had it hot, but it is excellent that way.

★★★★☆

It was really good, I liked how the flavors work together

★★★☆☆

the mate flavor dominates, it's ok - but needed sweetening and lemon

★★★★★

This was honestly so delicious that I finished it all while it was still fairly warm, so I have no idea what it tastes like at room temperature or cold. It was fantastic hot, though! If you like chai teas, I would highly recommend giving this a try. This was a fantastic blend of yerba mate and chai spices, with a surprising undertone of fruit flavor. It was honestly quite unique, and really delicious. I loved it. 10/10, would drink again. I may have to order some.

★★★★★

I really enjoyed this blend. I could definitely see myself drinking this on a cold day

★★★★★

Oh wow, this mate is such a unique blend! I'm not one who tends to love chai but this one is miles above most I've tried. It's chai but much lighter and is almost refreshing.

The spice and the surprising complexity of the fruit really make this tea sing, and make it a perfect cup on a cold rainy day like we had here.

Great mild chai that was very pleasant to drink. Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and just a touch of anise come together with the lightly sweet taste of the green rooibos and fruit. Earthiness of the mate pulls everything together nicely. Added some rock sugar and also tried with cream. I liked it best with just the rock sugar. Enjoy!

Despite a seemingly odd combination of ingredients, this mate makes a pleasant chai-like tea. The aroma is reminiscent of some kind of cinnamon-y baked good. The flavor is predominately of well-blended mixed spices, with notes of cinnamon and ginger most noticeable. Though the spices play well with each other, together they overpower the fruit flavors, which aren't really detectable. If anything the fruit adds a slight sweetness and a subtle softness that takes the edge off some of the spices (like the ginger), making this a pleasant sip with only a touch of honey. Under this interesting blend of flavors, is the mate, offering a subtle musty flavor just behind the spices. This tea would make a great way to kickstart one's morning - a double hit first from the spice and then from the mate's caffeine content. What a wake-up call!

Cold-brewed, I wasn’t too impressed. The cinnamony chai flavors war against the fruity essences. Maybe part of it is that cinnamon is a little weird when cold. Sampled in July, in of the Communitea packets.

This is a delicious version of chai its on the spicier side with the cinnamon but it's very good. It makes a brisk nutty iced tea. Yum!!!

212 degrees for 10 minutes. Yum! Very cinnamon forward with a nice kick of ginger to the throat. Fruits are more subtle, but added depth. All in all, a very intriguing blend of flavors. A whole lot going on, but I like it!

I steeped my CommuniTEA packet and then put it in the fridge to cool. Based on the smell of the dry leaves, I thought the cinnamon would be POW, but it was nicely balanced. I tasted a note of honey which was pleasant. I’d call this a mild chai that gets your brain buzzing and your body moving! Happy sipping!

This was okay, I guess. It didn't thrill me. Most of the flavors were drowned out by the cinnamon. I did like the crispness of the mate, but I am not the biggest fan of cinnamon and that took center stage.

This is one of those teas where the mere thought of it made my face crinkle, but then I tasted it and couldn’t stop. It’s delicious flavor is great for chai lovers and none like myself. With each sip it’s easy to continue pulling back layers. I steeped my sample for a little over 8 minutes then infused in a small amount of rock sugar before I drank it.

Flavor was good but I don't like high caffeine. I reserve that for my one big cup of coffee in the morning.

This tea confuses me on if it should be hot or iced. Chais should be hot, that's that in my opinion and those of my Chai snob friends. They have also tried similar tea and feel similar.

This tea was a lot better than I expected and think it would be a perfect blend for the month of August. Its a mix between autumn and summer because of the chai and pineapple being both strong components in the flavor profile. It gives you the feeling that fall is just around the corner but still fully immersed in summer.

Well, this was an experience. I had been putting off trying a sample of Samurai Mate and now it has come to me unexpectedly as the July 1st Communitea packet. I steeped for 5 minutes at 212F. First sips were all cinnamon all the time. This trend continued through the cup. I had some hope seeing there was almond flavor (because I love me some ahhhmonds), but I’m afraid the spicy cinnamon flavor has given me the smokescreen effect because my nose has been blinded and I can’t really taste or smell anything BUT the spicy cinnamon. It’s not bad, mind you, but it’s not my, er, cup of tea. Since it is a blend of many things, the spicy cinnamon here is less intense than it is in Adagio’s Fiery Cinnamon Spice, which is a black tea (and is, as expected, fired up with flavor). All in all, this was fun to try but not something I’d drink on the regular. If you are like me and have a sensitive sniffer that is easily overwhelmed you, too, may find this blend to just be a leashed version of spicy cinnamon.

I like it lot, has a great taste, white chai with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, anise the right amount, great job!☕️🫖

Fruit, spicy, cinnamon-y, and smooth! Someone in Communitea chat said this reminded them of an Atomic Fireball and I can definitely see that - there's a sweetness to this that balances the chai spice and cinnamon very well!

Absolutely loved this tea. The caffeine power from mate is so much more subtle, and the flavors in this are everything I love in one cup. Lovely!

I am typically not a Mate fan, and this would fit those parameters for me. The tea had a nice flavor, cinnamon heavy even though initial sniffs grave off very fruity notes. It was okay, but I didn't love it.

★★☆☆☆

If you like Atomic Fireballs Candy you may like this tea. This blend has a lot of ingredients, but the tropical fruit flavors and the chai spices are lost on me because of the aggressive, overpowering spicy cinnamon & ginger.  This tea isn't bad, but it personally didn't impress me much, I just really hate the taste. I generally like cinnamon flavored tea, like when paired with apple (see Last Tea of Krypton, tastes like Apple pie), but this was too much of the spicy cinammon for me, so I did not like this one at all.
I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTEA (June 2020 box).
