I ordered this because I was intrigued by the description, but it ended up not being the flavor combination I wanted. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing, either. That being said, it was still tasty and I can definitely see it being appealing to another person.

I switched from coffee to tea to reduce my caffeine intake and reduce acidity, but I miss some of the flavors. This is a lovely bridge, tastes like a mocha latte!

One of my favorite yerba mate varieties out there. I really enjoy it on mornings where I can't seem to get going. I only wish the flavor were stronger but that's a 'me' thing.

Yes there is a nutty flavor but not much more than that. There were no mocha or malty notes. It lacked the richness of other teas.

I love plain mate and am a fan of a chocolate-almond flavored mate from a different company, so I figured I would like this one. Oddly, though, this tea kind of falls flat for me, lacking the depth of flavor I would associate with the ingredients list. I think part of the issue might be the hazelnut flavoring; I've since tried samples of other Adagio teas with hazelnut flavoring, and I'm not a fan of any, even though I do like real hazelnuts. Have tried brewing at higher temps and still get the same flatness. I'll certainly finish up the bag, but I don't like it enough to reorder.

Not a bad cup of tea but not my favorite. It wasn't very mocha forward. I will definitely finish what I have left but probably won't order this flavor again. The quality was amazing, just not wowed by the flavor.

It's hard for me to say anything i dislike about this tea - I love mates and I adore coffee, but I sadly am unable to drink most coffees because of the caffeine content. this mate is a perfect replacement! it's earthy, nutty, and rich.

As someone who does not love the bitterness of coffee, but loves the rich chocolate and nut flavors that coffee provides, this tea is perfect. I love pouring myself a cup on a cold morning to get my day going.

This is one of my favorites! I don't drink coffee anymore and this really gave me a nice coffee feel to it. I added a little bit of macadamia milk and agave for a hint of sweetness.

I got a sample of this and tried it after I ran out of my go-to tea. It has an earthy, nutty flavor that pairs well with sweet cream.

Added a little bit of my favorite creamer to this one and it’s a new favorite!! Definitely gonna be a replacement for coffee for me. I love the nutty, chocolatey flavors in this tea. Absolutely delicious

this is my favorite tea in the whole world. it is soothing creamy and has just a hint of chocolate to it that makes waking up super easy and a lovely experience.
★★★★★
Delicious, nutty, slightly smokey, and delicately sweet mate. Great as a morning tea, with or without sweetener.
★★★★★
Like drinking Nutella or a ferrero rocher. The perfect dessert-like mix of chocolate and hazelnut. A classic combination.

I loved this one - similar to arabica mocha but a little different - arabica mocha still has my heart but this is a good second.

SO GOOD!!! Tastes even better with a little creamer and honey. This is such a nice taste and has such a grounding feeling.

So far, my favorite tea that I have tried from Adagio (and the first mate tea I have had!). This is a winner on all counts--delicious at every temperature; tastes exactly as advertised; and tastes the way it smells, which is like toasted walnuts and cocoa! Very reminiscent of a bakery treat in a mug.

I enjoy the chocolate and deep nutty flavors of this mate. Sadly, the smokiness was just a little too strong for me in this mocha nut mate drink.

This is an old loose leaf favorite I had gotten away from for years as I’ve become a great fan of the Adagio matchas. However, I discovered a remnent of a bag that was at least 7 years old and it brought back memories of how much and why I loved it. Just got my new bag and it blows me away with how it tingles my taste buds and gently lifts my spirits with the caffeine boost.

I am an avid mocha coffee fan and had hopes that this would be similar, but it didn’t work for me. It was good, but one cup was plenty for me.

Easily my favorite blend. This is my go to for daily cups to get the morning started. Works well to help power ease through the afternoon and avoid any random stomach rumblings. High caffeine so spacing it out is recommended.

I steeped this longer than I intended, but it worked out quite well. I used a 20 oz mug, so I ended up steeping 3 tsp of tea. This tea small like hazelnut coffee to me, which is nice, since I can no longer physically tolerate drinking coffee. Once steeped, the tea has a nice chocolatey nutty taste that does remind me a little of coffee without the initial bitterness. This cooled very nicely, which was a must with my large mug. I will definitely be keeping this tea in my stash!

I wouldn't say that this is my favorite tea, but it's not bad either. I wasn't a huge fan of it without sugar and milk, but with them it was a lot better to me. I unfortunately have a hard time detecting the mocha flavor.

I cold-brewed this blend for several hours and tried it as an iced latte with unsweetened macadamia milk. It was love at first sip! This blend is a robust, flavorful treat that at first sip leaves a decadent hazelnut-mocha tasting note on your tongue followed by a bold coffee/espresso lingering after-taste. This blend is perfect for a coffee lover who may be transitioning into a tea drinker. I’ll definitely be stocking up on this one! I highly recommend trying this blend; you won’t be sorry, in fact, you’ll be back for more, like me!

If mate didn't make me jittery, this would be in my tea stash. Toasty, warm nutty flavors burst over my palette in each sip. I didn't pick up on the chocolate flavor directly but believe it is in the background enhancing the nutty richness of this tea.

i’m not a huge mate person, but this cup was alright! with honey and milk added, the tasted reminded me of how a cup of coffee smells. roasty and toasty with a little bit of nuttiness. still not a fan of mate but this was pretty good

Toasted mate, ( my preference for any mate) plus chocolate and hazelnut, what’s not to like? Makes a wonderful mocha latte with the addition of frothy milk.

This tea is alright on its own but I'd definitely recommend blending this with something else like a black tea. Like other mate teas, this has an earthy flavor with the mocha giving chocolate and nutty overtones, but the overall flavor was extremely light.

This was a nice tea, which full disclosure, was prepared during travel and therefore without the benefit of a thermometer to determine water temperature. The first steep was too cool, and the second too warm, I suspect. I will give it four stars, but note that I preferred yesterday’s Spiced Mate over this. I would really like to try this tea again to see how it tastes with the proper rinse and water temperature.

Typically I’m not a fan of mate tea- but this one wasn’t as offensive as others I have tasted. Kind of tasted like blonde roast coffee.

When opening my CommuniTEA packet, I was greeted with the scent of chocolate and hazelnuts. I gave my leaves a short cool water soak (about 1.5 tablespoons) to wake the mate up. I then added the hot water. This tea needs more than what was in the packet to get the full flavor. It was a little weak until I added more. Yum! Nice hazelnut flavors with a hint of chocolate. GREAT energy kick from the mate. This is definitely not an evening drink!

I love this tea! It has a nice, smooth, chocolatey flavor, in addition to the lovely mate earthy flavor. The hazelnut was the topping on the cake for me. I tried a sample-sized pouch of it about a month or so before today’s CommuniTEA sample and I was hooked. It has a nice, warm, and cozy taste to it. It’s a very soothing and comforting tea. It’s high on my favorites list.

I'm unsure why the suggested brewing temp on this is so low. I usually enjoy mates and brew them right off a rolling boil. I followed the directions and found the resulting brew to be weak and underwhelming.

I don't dislike mate, but I can only ever drink about half my cup. I like the mix of flavors in this blend, but I'd rather have them in a black tea instead ;)

The scent and flavor of this tea is quite nice, EXCEPT for the awful background flavor of mate. Do I have a special gene (like for cilantro) that makes mate taste horrid? How can anyone enjoy that putrid flavor?
I tried brewing this tea at 150 degrees (measured with a thermometer) for 3 minutes hoping that my last mate experience was ruined by 165 degrees. There was no difference between 150 and 165 degrees, same background flavor.

CommuniTEA portion: Steeped at 160 for 3 minutes. Enjoyed this one more than I thought. This was far more balanced with the mate than the other mate blends I have tried. Nice chocolate (mocha) sip.

For me, 4 stars on a mate means it’s pretty decent since I don’t usually prefer mate, both in flavor and how my body reacts to it (I can live with subtly vibrating through the day!). The taste in this is drinkable, most likely because of the hazelnut. However, I don’t like coffee and this SMELLED like coffee and I had a hard time disassociating from the aroma. If you like coffee, you like hazelnut, and you don’t mind your teeth vibrating, this tea is for you!

The first thought I have on opening this pouch is how much this twist on mate smells like coffee. I suspect that's the hazelnut in the blend. Once brewed, this mate yields a toasty, nutty, and yes, even chocolatey cup of goodness. Despite the absence of cinnamon from the ingredients, I taste hints of the spice, which I suspect comes from the interplay between the flavorings and the herbaceous mate. I prefer toasted mate to regular yerba mate, and this variation is probably my favorite of Adagio's toasted mate selections. So why four stars? The flavorings don't stand up to a second steep as well. The mate itself is more pronounced, so the brew loses some of the finer nuances that make it stand out. (4-5 minutes @ 160F)
