Quite flavorful, without being overpowering. The caffeine level is low, making it drinkable in the evenings without being kept awake.
Our Brazilian toasted mate with its mellow chicory notes enhanced with the indulgent flavors of chocolate and hazelnut. Contains caffeine.

Quite flavorful, without being overpowering. The caffeine level is low, making it drinkable in the evenings without being kept awake.
Not a huge mate fan, but I would like to appreciate the taste. I probably won't reorder. This definitely has a chocolatey nutty taste, but needed more raw sugar than I really wanted to use to bring out the flavor.
A perfect tea for mornings! A great blend of nutty and chocolate. One of my Adagio faves.
This tea is shockingly good! Literally! -- My one previous experience with Mate tea involved a premade mate beverage and I LOATHED it. It was horrible. Since then I have never tried another mate tea-- until now, on a whim.
In the sample pouch, this smells decadent. Rich chocolate and nuts. There is a slight vegetal undertone, which brings me dangerously close to my not-so-fond mate memories...
Steeped, this remains richly chocolatey and nutty. It melds well with the teas' flavor, so it does not taste like mate tea masked by fake flavors. The tea flavor is a little bit astringent, but the nut and chocolate flavors help temper that.
Overall, I think this will make a great morning tea. Very invigorating. I am definitely on the market to try more mate teas now after this!
Not a bad tea. It smells wonderful when you open the bag and it is very pleasant to drink. My only concern is that it seems to have a strange after-taste. However, I did try it with sweet n low, so I might experiment with other sweeteners to see if it changes anything.
My favorite of the mate teas I've tried from Adagio. The mocha and nut flavors were nicely balanced without being overpowering.
Rich, nutty, mocha-y, chocolate-y and coffee like - except it's tea. And amazing. If you are feeling fun, add some almond milk and a bit of sweetener for your very own 'tea latte', or keep it straight up and enjoy the nutty flavor. :)
This is one of my favorites. I love it with a bit of sugar or stevia and almond milk.
One of my favorite teas tasted by far! With some cream and sugar, it tastes very much like Nutella without all the guilt. I must remember to brew it at a lower temperature next time, but no harm done this time. Not grassy like plain mate, smooth and delicious.
This is a great tea for those of us who need caffeine but don't like coffee. It has a great deep nutty flavor with chocolate tones. As mentioned by others, the scent is wonderful. I hope you enjoy this as much as you do!
I really love mate, and this version is delicious. It's also nice cold!
At first I wasn't sure about this, I'm not a huge mate fan, but after brewing it up and adding a touch of almond milk, I'm hooked! Delicious and I could definitely see it as being a coffee substitute!
delicious strong and decadent! tastes like you're drinking a luxury, and getting mad caffeinated in the process
This mate is great iced! Perfect for a warm and humid east coast morning brew. For those who may want to try the mate because of the 'mocha' aspect,IMO the flavor is more nutty than mocha. There is a hint of mocha, and the merging of the mocha and the nut makes for a great substitution for a cup of joe. The flavor is so good that I do not feel the need to add any sort of sweetener! For those of you who want a great, flavorful morning brew, give this mate a try!
I had this this morning and it was wonderful. Simply amazing. It tasted exactly like coffee with chocolate, but there was still a hint of grassiness to remind you that you were actually drinking tea. Normally I take my coffee with lots of cream, but I drank this straight, with just one teaspoon of sugar. Absolutely delicious.
As an avid coffee drinker trying to cut back on caffiene, this is my go to drink now. It has a strong nutty and chocolately flavor that pairs well with honey and milk. The smell is incredible, I wish it came in an air freshener! :)
This was ok, but not something I'll brew again. I'd never had mate, so maybe I just don't like this type of tea. I gave the rest of this package to my neighbor who loves it.
I heard it was better than toasted mate, but I like the original better. The mocha tastes too artificial
This is my first mate. Husband picked me up a 3 ounce bag in store when I only wanted a sample size - glad he did that! As someone who likes her tea on the sweeter side, I can drink this without any additions. Brisk, but great in the morning!
Argentinian born so love to drink mate (the traditional way!), and thought of giving this variation on my favourite drink a try. The verdict? Really love this blend! Great flavour's, beautiful tea...great job guys!
Delicious desert alternative with an amazing aroma. Easily one of my favorite teas, especially at night (I know, not a good idea if I plan on sleeping. :P)
This tea is dangerously good. Beware, they aren't kidding when they say it has caffeine and shouldn't be a nightcap, though it's tempting due to it's deep, nutty sweetness. The smell is intoxicating and familiar, almost like peanut butter. When brewed it tastes similar to a very good cup of hazelnut coffee. Delicious.
Tried three different mate blends from adagio and this was my favorite of the three. That being said, I don't think mate is for me. Adagio just has too many tea blends that I truly adore...glad I tried something new but am going back to my valentines blend and choc chip!
To my family and friends, I call this the coffee of tea. The mocha flavour is not fake-tasting or overbearing, and mixes with the smoky notes of the yerba mate very well.
a great tea to wake up to. kind of nutty and toasty, reminds me a bit of coffee but it's much smoother and less bitter. the chocolate flavor doesn't show up for me as much, but i'm sure i'd notice if it wasn't there.
This is a great alternative to coffee in the morning. Its pretty sweet on its own, with a nutty aftertaste. I like to add a bit cream and sugar to smooth out the flavour.
My new favorite! Am trying to get away from coffee due to stomach problems, but need a full bodied, caffienated tea. I love this. Not too sweet, just enough to make it taste like a treat. I drink mine with a touch of sugar and a drip or 2 of cream. Yummy!
This has been my coffee replacement for quite sometime now. The chocolate and hazelnut make it a great 'first cup of the day'.
The worst tea I have ever tasted. It is so bitter (and I like bitter, sour, salt) even I can't drink it. And it drags any chocolate down with it - making it taste like swamp mud. Too late to return it but not too late to warn others!
Not the best mate I've had, but not terrible. The smell of the tea itself is wonderful and slightly indulgent but you still get that typical, almost harsh, mate taste with some nutty hints in an attempt to balance it out. It's easy to burn/scorch mate so best to keep the water at a lower temperature.
The chocolate
It's actually kind of strange
I could drink this one just fine, but it wasn't one of my favorites. It just lacked that certain something to make it an excellent cuppa.
I love this tea! Great nutty flavor without the caffeine. Delicious!
I found the scent of this one kind of artificial and cloying, but dh loves it.
I actually loved the smell the moment I opened it and the fact that the flavour came through when I brewed was awesome. I tried it solo and mixed with other varieties and I have to say this is versatile and very tasty. it's got a way of reminding me of a hazelnut latte.
I wanted to like this more. It smells amazing. Flavor isn't as good, but will drink the rest of my sampler. Probably won't order again.
Very good. A nice change from the normal teas (mostly green). Nice smokey notes to it too.
The first taste is rather strong - I imagine coffee drinkers would like this best, but it is a bit too strong for me.
I usually do not like flavors but I love this one.. It is a good wake me up tea with a smooth flavor!
This is my first time trying a mate, and I would say that this particular blend was a good choice. I wasn't particularly blown away by the flavor--it wasn't nearly as strong as the aroma, though it was tasty. Slight hints of tobacco, though the hazelnut took over the chocolate flavor as the tea cooled down. Also, a not-quite-menthol aftertaste was left in my mouth that I'm not sure is either good or bad. Drinking this brew plain is lovely, and adding rice milk makes it a bit smoother, but doesn't really enhance or detract from the flavor.
This is a great tea thats hard too over steep. This is one tea that taste as goos as it smells. The one downside is that it's very fine and will slip through most filters.
It had a nice earthy/nutty flavor. I wasn't tasting too much of the chocolate, but I don't feel that is a bad thing.
This is a wonderful mate, the chocolate is the predominant smell but drops back behind the nut's taste. Smells like breakfast.
Flavor as described. Toasty and nutty with a chocolate richness. I'd drink this over coffee. The bits are wicked small and they are a mess to clean on my setup, but that's only a minor issue.
Chocolately, a great toasted flavor, wonderful with cream and sugar.
This is not a strong blend which makes the flavor hard to review. Its enjoyable though.
Great smelling, great tasting. Do not steep too hot or long as it will taste bitter. I found myself needing to add sugar crystals every time to sweetin it a bit. More enjoyable when warm, not hot.
When I first open this tea I thought it was going to be horrible. It smelled like artificial nut flavor, but after steeping it had a nice smooth coco nose. The taste is coco up front with a nice tobacco finish.
Not my cup of tea. I'm not big on mate, and was hoping that this one would be it.
