I really enjoyed this tea. The nut flavor comes through really clearly, and I love the chocolatey flavors that actually include chocolate chips.
Our Brazilian toasted mate with its mellow chicory notes enhanced with the indulgent flavors of chocolate and hazelnut. Contains caffeine.

I really enjoyed this tea. The nut flavor comes through really clearly, and I love the chocolatey flavors that actually include chocolate chips.
After a long hiatus from drinking tea, this was one of the teas I started with. This tea has a good toasty nut flavor, with just a hint of chocolate. It's good with some sugar and creamer. I'd like to see how it comes out if put into a blender with ice, milk and yogurt..
The aroma of this tea is completely satisfying and comforting. I only wish the flavor was as strong. Still a fantastic cup of tea with rich chocolate and hazelnut notes.
The smell of this tea is absolutely amazing. Whenever I walk by my tea cabinet, I often just stop and smell this tea in the container. If you close your eyes, you'd think you were about to take a sip of a hazelnut mocha coffee. Unfortunately, the flavor is rather weak. I prefer to drink my tea without any additives, but I've found that just a bit of sugar is needed to tease out the flavor of this tea.
One of my favorite mates from Adagio. Lovely nutty flavor with notes of cocoa. Be warned that you'll need a fine filter for this, the Ingenuitea works well though.
I absolutely LOVE this tea! It's perfect for coffee lovers like me - add some vanilla creamer and it tastes like drinking a hazelnut mocha from a boutique cafe! However, I must mention, that if you're buying it for the high caffeine content as the mate description suggests, it doesn't necessarily live up to those expectations. I've felt more energized from a cup of flavored black tea from Adagio than I did with this tea. My recommendation for that extra kick would be to mix it with some almond or hazelnut black tea - or feel free to try my personal blend, 'Good Morning, Sweet Assam!' But I digress... overall it's a GREAT tea that I will definitely be buying again!
This is a great substitute for coffee the flavors are very strong.
It really does taste like a coffee blend. Kind of like a wonderful mocha coffee. It smells great and sometimes I'll leave the bag open just to let the room get filled with the scent. I love it as a replacement for coffee. Definitely going to buy again.
Smells AMAZING. but in terms of taste there wasn't really much. I tried it with milk and sugar though and then was pretty much like drinking coffee so I really liked it
Like hazlenut coffee without any of the bitterness. Perfect as a morning cup, but also perfect for a long afternoon at work when you need a nice pick-me-up.
Really quite good, has the aroma of Kahlua, which i mean in the best way possible.
It's not very chocolatey and wasn't quite strong enough after steeping for 5 minutes.
Opening the bag will hit you with a strong, delicious mocha-nut armoa. The taste of the tea is far subtler than its scent. Smooth and nutty.
I love this tea! It smells amazing - just like Nutella, and tastes like cocoa with a shot of hazelnut. It's so good with sugar and a little bit of soy milk. I bet it would be really good with almond milk too
I love this tea. It is great for an afternoon pick me up or a nice warm morning cup. I just ordered more!
Not my taste for tea, but my BF who really loves coffee, really liked it. So get it if you like a tea that tastes a bit like coffee.
An unusual tea but very good. Enjoyable mocha flavor.
When following the steeping directions for the mocha nut mate, the flavor is phenomenal. Absolutely delicious. However, it is a much lower temperature than the usual, and so I generally will steep and then reheat in the microwave so that it is hot to drink.
Love the taste. Not too strong of a chocolate taste!
This tea was only just ok. Not my favorite, but I'm not usually a fan mate teas either.
I tried to like it. I really did. But it just didn't work for me. It has a nutty/cocoa flavor and smell that is lovely. It's good. Just not my favorite.
Got this as a sample, and was surprised how good it was.
This is very reminiscent of coffee, and I'm a coffee lover, so I was very pleased. Add a little milk and sugar and yum!
I can not express my love for this tea! A light chocolate flavor and delicious tea together as one. Who knew?
I'm a coffee drinker turned tea fanatic and mocha nut mate is the BEST alternative! The flavor is rich, strong, and warm like coffee. It has the bitter flavor of coffee, easily taken off with a splash of milk, and the aroma is decadent and smooth. I had been drinking My Morning Mate from Teavana and I will officially be switching to Mocha Nut Mate for good. Better, crisper flavor and the cost is unbelievably more reasonable!
Tried the mocha nut mate with a little vanilla soy milk today. It was okay, but I think I like the flavor better without the soy milk. Also, steeped for a little longer. I will have to play around with that more.
While this tea didn't taste exactly like coffee, it did have more of a coffee-esque taste than I was expecting. The tea was too bitter to drink without anything mixed in, at least for me.
Great flavor. Added a dash of milk and sugar and it tasted like a mocha drink!
A nice light chocolate flavor and a nutty undertone. It's going to replace my morning cup of coffee.
Mocha Nut Mate helps me curb my late-evening coffee and chocolate cravings in a dieting-friendly way! It smells great in the bag, pot, and cup, with the scent of hazelnut being prevalent. Hazelnut is also the prevalent flavor, with a light chocolate flavor and a little bit of bitterness - great for us converted coffee drinkers. I put a bit of Truvia in it to bring out the chocolate flavor more and tone down the bitterness somewhat. I find I need to use a generous amount, as its fragrance is stronger than its flavor.
I am not typically a huge mate fan, but I found this tea to be really enjoyable! The mocha nut flavor really mellowed out the typically earthy flavor.
I think I was expecting something a bit closer to coffee in consistency and flavor (though I used the requisite teaspoon, and I think more might have made a more robust cup). It is still more like tea than coffee and the hazelnut is the most prominent flavor.
What an awesome pick me up in the morning. Subtle blend of mocha and nut with mate. Yum. I came back to order the whole pound for work.
This tea is absolutely delightful! The chocolate and hazelnut flavors are just perfect.
This is big on nut flavour and not so much on the mocha. I was kind of hoping it would be the other way around. I find myself putting more sweetener in it than usual. Overall, not bad, but I prefer a more well-rounded cup of flavoured mate.
Blended nicely with a little plain soy milk, but next time I'll try it alone or with something less overpowering (the soy kind of covered up the tea.) It was delicious and comforting, and felt like the perfect blend of a mocha and tea. Very, very pleased.
The sales associate told me it would be a nice, even lift, unlike coffee, but it ended up just making me feel agitated. Love the flavor though.
I was excited about this tea at first but when I got it it wasn't what I expected, it has a terribly smokey flavor to it, its almost over powering to me. Did not taste anything remotely like mocha in it.
A little bit like diluted hot chocolate. I prefer to mix this tea with flavored and caffeinated teas. One of the best blends I've made was with chocolate chai. Or just plain masala.
I really liked the yerba mate and since I'm a fan of mocha and nutty flavors I figured I'd like the mocha nut mate even more, but it turns out I prefer the regular mate. The mocha flavor just doesn't work as well as I thought it would with the yerba. It's a bit bitter, more coffee-like and less green-tea like. Also the leaves seem a tiny bit smaller than the regular yerba mate, which makes it harder to brew unless you have a very fine infuser. I'm going to mess around with brew times and amounts of tea leaf to see if I can tweak the taste a bit, but the regular yerba takes care of my caffeine kick any earthy flavor cravings without any fuss, and if I want a mocha flavor I think I'd prefer to go with a black tea base instead of mate.
I'm still not sure about this tea...the mocha flavor is sort of weird, but not bad...Definitely unique!
I've had a vanilla chocolate mate from elsewhere that I've really loved for a long time. One taste of this, however, and I quickly realized I'd been drinking inferior tea. Complex and balanced with plenty of chocolate and hazel nut flavors. Good for desert (if you're a night owl) or maybe a coffee replacement. Note that the mate is quite finely ground, so may not work with coarse infusers.
Mate must be an acquired taste that I just don't have yet. Grassy, bitter, and mostly unappetizing, I couldn't manage to swill down my cuppa until I added (chocolate) milk and sugar. Afterwards, it was alright, but the bitterness prevailed.
I received my mocha nut mate sample this morning and immediately had to try it. I definitely feel the classic yerba mate energy, and the flavor reminds me of a milder coffee. Its a dark, slightly nutty chocolate flavor that is present as well. I have only drank it unsweetened so far, but a little sugar may bring out more of the chocolate flavor.
I would definitely recommend this tea.
An awesome alternative to coffee. Also helping some of my coffee-drinkers expand to tea as well.
Looking for something to ween yourself from coffee? This is a great option for that!
This tea was not at all what I expected. I had hoped for a nice strong chocolate flavor but instead found a bitter tea with no flavor at all. My husband said it reminded him of coffee and he enjoyed it. I gave the rest of my cup to him.
This one is nutty and sweet with a bit of a smoke underneath. I wouldn't recommend brewing this in an ActiviTEA, though - the holes in the infuser are too large and almost all of your tea will fall through and end up in your drink! I don't mind a few bits at the bottom of the cup, in fact I usually like it, but I'll be sticking with a finer mesh or a paper filter for this one.
For this tea, the emphasis on the 'nut', not the mocha. Which is a good thing since I prefer mocha in my coffee, not my tea. This is a nice, earthy blend. Not really what I usually will turn to when I'm craving tea, but it's a good mix-it-up blend.
I tried toasted mate before and was very pleased. I'm not one for coffee but the mate has a similar taste but is somehow more pleasing. After trying this for a change of pace I think I'm going back to toasted mate.
