Tastes like coffee and tea! FABULOUSLY DELICIOUS!
Again with Adagio's Mate's tricky steeping temps! Anyways, be careful with this blend, because it will get ridiculously bitter, and don't oversteep it. Otherwise, it's toasty, nutty and leaning a bit on the coffee side of the spectrum flavorwise.
Perfect for those mornings when you need something a little special. It's the perfect coffee-free mocha. The mocha flavor isn't as strong on re-steeps, but the mate is still good.
OOF. This one is absoLUTEly delicious. I had never had a mate before, and though I had heard a bit about them I really wasn't sure what to expect. I certainly wasn't disappointed! It was very aromatic to me, and was just plain fascinating aside from being yummy. After this one I can't wait to try other mates!
Smooth and very sweet. Kind of tastes like honeybush hazel nut mixed together with tiger eye.
The Mocha nut part of this tea smelled and tasted delicious, but I was a bit turned off by what I assume is the Mate part. It was not bad but it reminded me of peanuts which didn't really work for me.
Looked pretty in the bag with some flower petals and chocolate chips mixed in, but required a lot of sugar and/or milk to make it drinkable to me.
This is a really good flavored tea, but keep in mind you need a strainer for fine-tea or you'll have a lot of residue from the tea at the bottom of you cup. Still very tasty!!
Reminds me of a coffee drink. This goes well when mixed with cream and sugar for an alternative to coffee.
This tea is good, but not great. The flavors are nice- very sweet and nutty and chocolatey, but I had hoped that it would be stronger. I enjoy it, but probably wouldn't order it again.
Delicious! Reminiscent of coffee, without the bitterness. I recommend this first if you are interested in Mate teas.
I purchased this to replace my morning cup of coffee. I will admit that I was expecting more of a coffee flavor, but this wasn't at all bad. Smooth with chocolate, nutty undertones. Quite pleased.
I recently fell in love with a mate blend from another retailer, and wanted to find a substitution that didn't break the bank. While this is delightful and would do in a pinch, the flavor - a bit roasty, a bit nutty, a bit chocolatey - just wasn't complex enough for me to consider this a replacement for that one.
Delicious with a bit of cream. I think the chocolate flavor needs to be a little stronger too- the cocoa bits don't particularly melt, so Adagio needs to look into that. This is also a good coffee-lover's intro to tea as well.
wonderful chocolatey, nutty, medium bodied flavor!
I decided to cut down on my coffee consumption, and came across this. It was the first mate I have ever tried, and I thought the mocha nut flavor might help me get through the first few days without coffee. The scent was amazing and so chocolatey! It didn't taste nearly as strong as it smelled, though. I don't usually add anything to my tea, but I had to add almond milk and sugar to this one to get it right. It was also good combined with some of the Hazelnut tea.
Very smooth with slight nutty flavor. Has a slight mocha after taste too. :) pleasant!
Much more bitter than I was initially expecting, having had minimal experience with mate before. I might have just let it steep too long/too hot. The smell is heavenly.
I was a little disppointed about that one... Smelled so good, but taste was a little off... Second brew tasted better though...
This is a very enjoyable mate blend. It vaguely tastes like coffee, but it does have a real nutty taste. Very good with milk and sugar, where it does kind of taste like a coffee substitute without all the acid. Very smooth.
I've found that this is a fantastic replacement for my morning coffee. It gives me just enough caffeine to wake me up and tastes a lot like coffee with a healthy dose of hazelnut creamer and a bit of chocolate. I'm in love with this tea!
This is really good. It smells like one of my gramma's Gevalia hazelnut coffees and tastes pretty similar. I love the toasty nuttiness.
s a coffee drinker, this tea was right up my alley. ark and nutty, with that toasted chicory taste of a roasted mate. The mocha and chocolate flavors make this almost like a dessert, but the caffeine level makes this a perfect morning pick me up. It was an important ingredient in the crafting of my ullen Bohannon blend and I am glad to have found it!
I work at a competing tea company. This has become my favourite flavored mate to drink. I usually drink it with a splash of soy milk, or when I feel fancy I throw some olvatine mix in it.
This has been my breakfast tea lately. It needs only a few minutes to brew to the strength that I like. I then add honey and gelato and have a nice luscious tea that eases me into the day.
smells very nutty and toasty, like roasted nuts.
I drink this tea every morning. I think my blood may actually be made up of this by now. It is chocolatey with a hint of coffee (not in a bitter way), and is even better with a little milk or creamer.
This is one of my favorite teas. The yummy chocolate, almost coffee taste of this tea is amazing. it's a great thing to settle down into. It is so great, I really enjoy it!!
Very good and flavorful without being overwhelming. You can definitely taste the chocolate notes!
I thought this tea taste and smells just like hazelnut coffee and taste even better when you put a little bit of sugar in it.
It smells sooooo good but after several tries with different brew times, I just can't find a way for the taste to work for me. The taste is always intensely bitter to me even with a good amount of honey added. I wish I could get it to taste how it smells. My husband, who generally complains that he can't taste tea, likes this one though.
This tea's taste reminds me of bottled Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino. It prefer it on it's own but it tastes nice with milk.
At first I wasn't a huge fan of this, but I tried it blended with some of the hazelnut black tea and I loved it!
Wickedly bitter, much too intense for me, but good underlying flavors. Worth checking out, but not my 'cup of tea'.
I don't get much chocolatey flavor but with a touch of milk and cream this tea is a wonderful coffee replacement with breakfast.
it is 7 degrees in minneapolis tonight. mocha nut makes it feel like 72. rich, warm, comforting, nutty. one of my favorites.
I blended this with a caramel sea salt tea that I got from another tea company and it was great!
This tea is pretty good. It's a little bitter without milk, and the taste is more nutty than chocolaty, but it's still quite pleasant with milk and sugar.
This was good, nice blend of mocha and nut, great for my morning cup of tea.
What a delicious tea! It is an excellent alternative to coffee in the morning.
One of my favorite morning teas. Full and flavorful taste.
At first I tried this and didn't like. However, I tried again, but this time steeped it for a great deal longer. This did the trick. Nice, subtle flavor. Not my favorite, but still very good.
This is one of the best teas I have ever had. It has a mild nutty chocolate flavor and a caffeine kick to boot. Takes a little time to steep but well worth the wait.
At first taste, I wasn't sure if I liked it. But I didn't give up, I do not drink coffee so this is a nice alternative. You can either drink it bitter or add sugar or honey, I prefer to have mine a little sweet. Warning: you will experience loose tea in your cup! Other than that, I really enjoyed the tea.
It tastes enough like a mocha coffee that if you hate coffee you won't like this at all. I don't know why people try to make tea taste like coffee, people who tend to be tea drinkers don't like coffee that much. Or they'd be drinking coffee.
I haven't had much mate tea. This one a nice, mild nutty flavour. The chocolate was a bit too subtle though.
A delightfully nutty start to the day, but still somehow lacking in the flavor department in spite of its pleasant aroma. The Adagio tin that I have been using appears to have a defective seam and may be allowing the flavor to leach out a bit.
It's a tea version of some fancy, indulgent coffee. Quite good...actually, better than I was expecting! It has a nice rich flavour that definitely won me over...although not enough to give up my coffee.
This is absolutely my favorite mate I've ever tried. I think I've only ever had citrus mate blends, and they were never my favorites--I think this sweet, warm, toasty flavor is what I was missing! (I also blend this regularly with Chestnut or Cream--perfect in the morning.)
Satisfying coffee-like attitude for those who love coffee!
