Nutty and smokey. The mocha is so decadent and delicious. It is my new morning favorite because it perks me up and is so comforting... It makes leaving my warm bed during this cold weather a little easier. I have it with a some cream and a little sugar.
Perfect as a coffee replacement with some cream and sugar.
Bought this as a sample to try. The ingredients sounded really good. However for me there just wasn't enough tea taste to please me.
I was surprised how much I liked this tea. The nuttiness really does make it a great coffee substitute. I didn't read the brewing instructions and did it at a higher temp and it worked out fine - will experiment with temp.
It really is a lot like a coffee - it's got a kind of earthy, nutty smell in the bag, and the tea itself is pretty fine (a bit like coffee grounds). It's not as strong or bitter as coffee, of course, but if you want something in the mornings that kind of has the feel of coffee without actually being coffee, this might be a good fit.
This is the best way to wake up in the morning I simply love this tea its and it tastes amazing with a touch of honey and splash of milk.
I tried the sample as my first mate because I will only drink mocha when I have coffee. This wasn't good but it wasn't terrible either. I will not be ordering more and I might stay away from mates in the future.
This tea, although an herbal, is by no means caffeine free. That being said, it would make a great tea for someone who is coffee sensitive as it tastes and smells somewhat similar to a light coffee without the acidity.
I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this tea. I had never tried yerba mate and was curious. This tea exceeded my expectations! Very strong and tasty flavor that had not a hint of artificial chocolate. Highly recommended!

Excellent coffee substitute. It's rich and complex, and sweetens with milk to a delicious concoction that has the feel of coffee that I need in the morning.
Ohmygoodness. I got a free sample of this and was a bit skeptic when I first opened it and smelled it - it has VERY powerful scent. However, after steeping it and trying a sip I was pleasantly surprised - not at all overpowering. Although I don't normally add anything to me tea, on a whim I put in a little milk and about half a teaspoon of sugar. It made it warmer, richer, and really brought out the hazelnuttiness in it. Don't drink this in the evening, however - even as a caffeine addict I felt a bit pepped up after just one cup.
This is probably my least favorite of all the teas I've ordered. I'm a huge fan of hot tea I want something to warm me up when I'm chilly, this wasn't very good hot as it cooled the flavors seemed to meld better and tasted good but hot it was just a mess.
This isn't my favorite tea, but being rich and flavorful, it makes a good base for a latte with milk and sweetener. On it's own, it's a little too much for me.
I LOVE THIS TEA. It's warm and full (unlike a lot of other chocolate teas I've tried).

I love toasted mates for the roasted type of flavor that they have. I like to tell people that toasted mates are like some coffee/tea hybrid from a bizarro universe.

I loved the smell of this blend--it really smelled like a hazelnut mocha! It definitely reminded me of coffee, but still had that quintessentially herbal quality of tea. The taste, however, was VERY coffee-like, and I'd recommend this to anyone who loves coffee and is looking for an alternative. The hazelnut flavor came out stronger than the chocolate in the brew, but I absolutely loved it with a bit of vanilla soymilk.
Smells and tastes a bit like a brownie with nuts. It's not my favorite tea ever, but it's not awful either. Make sure you have a very fine strainer when making this.
I adore this tea. I highly recommend steeping it at 150 for 5 minutes, use a little bit of sweetener and some half and half, you'll be in heaven. (I bring the water to boiling and then let it sit for 5 minutes before pouring over the tea). You can always re-warm it once it's brewed!
I'm not sure if this was supposed to happen but most of the tea leaves ended up in my cup and I didn't enjoy it too much, won't finish it. It smelled good though! too bad!
This tea is based on the toasted mate which has hints of tobacco in it. I am a non-smoker and the smell of the tobacco was very strong. It made me sick. I do not recommend this for a non-smoker.
One of my favourite teas to blend, it tastes like Nutella in a cup. So wonderful!

Well, I guess not all teas are great for everyone. This is honestly the first tea I've tried from Adagio that I've completely hated. I'm sure it's great. Just great for someone else's palette. I found the nutty flavor completely overbearing, and I couldn't get a flavor I liked either straight or with cream and sugar. Oh, well. I DO appreciate that Adagio sells these in 'sample' sizes and I didn't have to spend a lot of money on this experiment. I don't know if it's mate that I don't like, or just THIS mate. But the nut/choco thing just didn't work for me here.
Very smooth and you can definitely taste the chocolate. Tastes like a delicacy right off the bat.
A very fun cup of tea - my first mate. Prepared with milk and a bit of sugar, a sweet (but not TOO sweet) treat that smells as delicious as it tastes. Accidently brewed a bit hot, but still good.
This is *really* good with milk and sweetener. Too bad mates apparently are a migraine-trigger for me, because otherwise I could see this as a latte-replacement.
I think Mate and I are not good friends. This tea is a bit watery and artificial-tasting and I needed to add milk and sugar before I really wanted to drink it. I may add some more tea next time I brew it.

I really wanted to like this one, my first cup I just added some sweetener and just didn't like the taste. Second cup I added some almond milk, it was a little better, but not great.

This is a nice tea, but perhaps not for me. I think the earthiness go the mate is a little overpowering. But that's just me. I typically prefer minty or fruity mates.
It was easier to taste the chocolate flavor when I put some sugar in it, but the Mate is simply not enjoyable for my palate.
They're not kidding about the chocolate or nut flavoring - I think it's pretty hazelnutty. If you're on the fence about coffee, this serves an excellent mock-up.
I was a little hesitant to order this as I'm not a coffee lover, but was pleasantly surprized that it didn't have the strong coffee flavor that I was anticipating. I think it's a great winter tea and love it blended with the honeybush vanilla.
I love mate. I love Nutella. I love this tea! Drinking a cup of this is much wiser than eating something straight from the jar with a spoon.
I liked this blend. It had a nice nutty, chocolate flavor and is very good with a little cream. Even my sister who hates tea liked this one.
