Very pleasant earthy nutty tea, reminiscent of a hazelnut latte. I thought the hazelnut flavor in this mate was much stronger and apparent compared to Adagio's hazelnut black tea, which had a more delicate undertone.
Recommended if that's what you're seeking :)
This is one of my favorite teas I have ever had. And I was absolutely thrilled to see the minuscule chocolate chips in it! I love to have it iced with a little raw sugar and some vanilla coconut milk. Such a treat!
I love this tea in the mornings as an alternative to coffee--it has a caffeine kick, but not too much to make me jittery. The mocha-nut flavor rounds out the mate and goes well with muffins or pancakes on a weekend breakfast.

I picked this as a free sample in hopes to find something my husband and I both enjoyed. It had a nice smell but neither of us liked it as much as we wanted to.
Pretty good! Have yet to try it with honey but it's got an interesting flavor.
So good! It kind of tastes like coffee, kind of tastes like a mocha, but really it just tastes like its own thing! I thought it had a really rich flavor for a tea, and I was very glad that I tried it. Will likely get some more!
As a person somewhat new to mate, I will say this is a very delicious blend. The chocolate accents are amazing.
I purposefully steeped this tea to make it really strong and it was excellent with a little almond milk! A great replacement for my morning coffee. Nutty, naturally sweet, and not at all bitter. The chocolate flavor is exceptionally smooth. Some teas become bitter if you steep them too long but that is not the case with this mate. Very nice!
Not my favorite. The taste seems vaguely... off in a way I can't quite pin point. Somewhat artificial tasting. Odd. Would make a decent replacement for morning coffee.
Huh. Normally if I've got a complaint about added flavor intensity, I think it's too weak. This might be too strong. Or else the mate is too weak. I think it might be the mate - I tried plain yerba mate and it was practically like water. I do taste a bit more mate in this than in the plain kind. Maybe that's the toasting making the flavor richer? I don't know. It's got a weird aftertaste, and I'm going to have to give in to the urge to go rinse out my mouth.
You can definitely smell the hazelnut as soon as you open the bag. It's very latte-esque in a way. Makes me think more of mocha flavored coffee. Now I drank this plain, but I definitely can see a nice creamer going with this... maybe french vanilla flavored. It's not bad, don't know if I'd get it again. I prefer some of the other chocolate oriented teas.
I thought I would love this mate more than the spiced mate, but I don't think that's the case. This one tastes good but has a slight artificial taste to it. Toasted mate teas, to me, smell like ash when they're brewed - I counter this with milk and honey to make it delicious. Not sure if I would buy this again, but it is tasty.
This is by far my favorite mate, and also a great alternative to coffee. I'm not a fan of coffee's aftertaste, so when I found this I was smitten. I'm sharing this magic with everyone!
I personally did not like this one, it was not sit will with my taste buds. it is not poorly made it is an excellent tea. I would have to put like this some people love tomatoes and other cant stand the smell. its not the tomatoes that are bad but the taste of the individual. I has a great nut aroma and its nice with cream I will give it a few more try to see if I can Aguirre the taste for it, there is many food that you dislike at 1st then cant live with out. I think this might be one of those

I was leery of this tea when I smelled it before it was brewed, but I am stoked that I tried it anyway. It's such a treat, and being a mate, it gives me the perfect pick-me-up! The chocolate is prominent, but not over-bearing. I'm definitely in love.
The search for this tea is what brought me originally to Adagio teas. I used to shop at another tea shop, until they were purchased by that megalomart coffee shop chain, and the quality, selection, and customer service fell into the toilet. However, they had a toasted mate tea, and I had to find a replacement. The Adagio mocha-nut mate did not disappoint, and I actually like it better. I'm looking forward to trying other flavors.
Very interesting flavor but not my favorite. Okay in the afternoon with an Adagio cookie.
This one is my new favorite. I love the aroma and smooth taste. Smells almost like a mocha coffee. love it.
Smooth and nutty, with a lot of body. The chocolate isn't overwhelming.

I don't taste much mocha here, but it does have a distinctly nutty taste. Very good!
I think I like this one the most out of all the mate blends I've tried so far. The toasty taste goes very well with the hazelnut and chocolate flavors.
I'm not a fan of coffee - unless it's iced. Instead of wasting the time and money on buying iced coffee, I just used this Mocha Nut Mate instead. It tastes so good iced with just a little bit of cream or milk. It's not too bad hot either.
Rich and flavorful, a delicious tea to wake up with.
Gotta love mocha nut :) Even though it doesn't have caffeine, this is an awesome morning drink.
This is my first experience with this kind of tea, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It smells amazing, but I'm still not used to the smokey/toasty flavor. I'll have to try it with more milk or cream to mellow out the taste.
Had that roasty-toastiness of coffee to it! I could see this as a fantastic way to quit drinking coffee!
This tea was really smooth. It had a really pretty amber color to it. It had a nice hint of coffee and cocoa. Really enjoyable.
This tea was very good. The chocolate flavor compliments the grassy flavor of the toasted mate very well.
Just purchased this as a flavor. If you like nutty teas this is great. It is not a strong as the black hazelnut tea so I prefer this.
Smelled amazing but the flavor ended up tasting very similar to yerba mate. Gonna try switching up my brewing time/temp and adding with milk and sugar to see if I can't find something a little more satisfying.
I have had other Mate teas that were considerably better than this. It was not what I was expecting at all. Way to woody and nutty flavored for my taste. I thought it would have more of a mocha flavor.
This reminds me of a latte-- the perfect amount of sweetness and not quite as bitter as coffee can be.
I liked this one a lot! The chocolate and nutty tastes heed off some of the bitterness without taking away the pleasant bite the bitterness gives mate. I mixed it with some plain Yerba Mate and really enjoyed that too. Such an earthy, herby flavor! Sooooo satisfying!

I guess I'm not a huge fan of flavored mate teas. I was introduced to mate by a friend about two years ago. It's a very unique tasting tea. The mocha nut mate adds a bit of chocolate and hazelnut flavor but in my opinion, takes away from the mate flavor.
Not sure how I feel about this... I think the sunflower petals are overwhelming the flavor. There is a very strong smell and taste that stands above the others, which I believe are the sunflower petals. Beneath that single taste, there are some good flavors. Unfortunately this one taste is just too overwhelming, and it makes the tea less enjoyable. This one is just not for me.
Update: Others are mentioning that the hazelnut might be the culprit in the overwhelming taste. That may be the case. I am not quite sure what a sunflower petal tastes like, but the taste I am left with it overwhelming, whatever the culprit may be.
I shared this with coworkers and no one was really pleased. It is a little bitter, and the mocha flavor is not pleasant.
I was a bit leery when I purchased the sample of this. I really can't stand the medicinal aftertaste of rooibos and I was afraid this might have some of the same. I am happy to report it does not. This tea is a bit thin but with cream added and just a touch of raw sugar it came out very smooth with a nice aroma and flavor. I could do with a touch more chocolate flavor however.
This isn't my fave. I'm more of a chai/fruit tea fan, but my husband loves it and the caffeine didn't wear off suddenly to the point where he would crash.
