I had to give up coffee some years ago and this was an amazing surprise. I mix it with my chocolate protein shakes to taste like a latte at times when I'm craving a coffee run. I love it in the mornings and it is the best pick me up!

A flavored tea that still tastes like tea, which is very nice. The chocolate is very subtle and only showed up on my palate at the very end of the sip. It's a little less nutty than I would prefer but still a pleasing, warm tea that's perfect on a cold afternoon.
My first impression is it tastes like chia tea with cream added. It is a mild flavor not on my favorites list. I will not order again.
Foolishly bought a pound of this since I love the regular toasted mate so much. I was hoping this mocha nut variant would taste the same, just with the added flavors. Not the case. This tastes like hot water someone mixed coffee creamer into. I taste no hint of the underlying mate. Really wish I tried a sample first since I now have a pound of this stuff sitting at home. At least it smells nice in the bag.
Great toasty flavor. More powder-like than leaf-like so choose your finest strainer.

Holy crap, this is my new favorite mate! It is nutty, chocolatey, and smells like heaven. Add some frothed coconut milk and I could marry it. 10 out of 10 would order for everyone I know.

A strong robust flavor similar to coffee. The smell is awesome. Add some turbinado sugar and you've got a sweet treat. Compared to others that I've had this is my favorite mate. I will absolutely be ordering more.

I'll be buying the 16 oz bag next time, if it's available, because I'm going through my 3 oz bag awfully quickly. I don't know that I'd call this the best tea in my collection, but I do like that it's both convenient and tasty. Because it needs to be brewed at such a low temperature, I don't have to wait as long before I can start drinking it - great for mornings when I've overslept.
It really is necessary to pay attention to water temperature when brewing this. If the water's too hot, this tea gets pretty bitter. I've found that setting my utiliTEA kettle to just before the green zone seems to work well.
I've tried Mocha Nut Mate both plain and with cream and sugar. I have to admit, I prefer it with cream and sugar. It ends up tasting like some kind of nut milk, with a hint of cocoa. Plain, it has a strong nutty flavor with a hint of cocoa in the background, but there's something about the overall taste that makes me think of watered down coffee. It's still decent enough, but not nearly as good and rich as when it's made with cream and sugar.
This is sometimes nice, sometimes strange to drink. Sometimes nice because it does seem to be sort of toasty and cocoa-y and nutty and it smells fantastic and not astringent at all, but sometimes strange because the flavoring usually veers into 'bubblegum' for some strange reason and often I can't taste anything but this particular mishmash of artificial flavors that end up reading as 'hot bubblegum' on the tongue. If you are looking for a coffee replacement (that is cheaper than Teavana's insanely over-priced low quality stuff) give this a shot, but expect this tea to have its own character that is not quite like coffee or other teas. Recommended that you stick to drinking it hot rather than cool.
II was really surprised that I would enjoy this tea. I was a little concerned about having chocolate chips in tea.. But it is AWSOME!!! It has a very tasty flavor with a hint of chocolate.. I added a little sugar.. Yummy..

I'm not one for mocha-flavored things. Honestly, I only got this one so my mom and roommate could drink it, but, to my surprise, I love it! The mocha flavor is subtle in the midst of an overall powerful tea. Perfect for late-night studying.
Perfect tea for the morning. Mate is naturally high in caffeine and works great as a healthy substitute to other processed options for a warm pick me up. This one has an earthy nutty taste without being bitter! Add a splash of milk and you've got something to make anyone jealous. Definitely going to get more
I've been looking into alternatives to coffee for a pick-me-up when I'm tired and still have a lot of work to power through, and this tea is the best I've found. I love the nutty cocoa flavor, and so does everyone I've made it for. (Even tea-spurning coffee lovers admit it's pretty good!)

Love this Mocha Nut Mate! I love this in the morning with whatever morning black tea I choose. It pairs well with Vanilla and Hazelnut. A great boost for your morning pick me up or wake up!!
I love this. A nice chocolate hazelnut aroma. Perfect. It says to brew at a low temp, but I would say whatever floats your boat. I brewed at 212 and it tasted better that way to me.
I was looking for a hazelnut mate to replace my old favorite from another brand. (They changed their recipe and included an ingredient I'm allergic to.) This wasn't bad, but it also wasn't 'it.' Found it to be a bit weak. I'll keep looking.
Tastes like coffee, and it has that nice hint of chocolate flavor. I do wish it had a little bit more caffeine for a good wake up call in the morning. Overall it's a great tea for coffee lovers.
The smell in the bag is absolutely divine. I'd crawl in there and never come out. My sister and roommate both said the same thing. This tea is more nutty than mocha-y, as others have said, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It works well for this tea (or for any tea in general. I mean, come on! Coffee tea? No thanks.) and I found the taste to be, while not fireworks-and-parade-tier spectacular, very pleasant. It's a comforting sort of tea. Sweet, but only a bit. bitter, but only a bit. I like my teas a bit bitter, because it means they've got heart. You can mess with the temperature a bit if you want, but don't oversteep it. You'll regret it.
I'm still not used to mate, but this would be the perfect introduction. It's delicious and nutty. Sous probably be better iced, but was good hot.
I really enjoy this tea but until I get a temperature-specific kettle I won't make it often. I just don't have the patience for heating water and then figuring out the temp and waiting for it to be ideal. Mate is delicious and a great pick-me-up, and this tea is really fantastic. It's nice and nutty with a bit of cocoa.

I personally like this tea although it is a bit weak. I mix it with adagio vanilla, cream or caramel tea. Add some sugar and cream. Dessert in a cup.
Nice earthy/ chocolately flavor. My biggest complaint is that its so fine it leaks through all my steapers.
This tea is wonderful! It wakes you up and the taste is so smooth and chocolate.
I actually like coffee. I don't drink it regularly, but I enjoy the flavor of it. This tastes like coffee, but there is something off about it. Maybe it's because the toasted mate base has a tobacco undertone to it, which I honestly find revolting. The chocolate and the hazelnut flavors don't really come through for me. I had high hopes for this, but I'm sorry to say that this is a miss. I doubt I'll finish my sample, unless the tobacco flavor mellows out with the addition of some almond milk.
The nuttiness is delicious and balances the relative bitterness of the mate. The higher caffeine content is nice to have in the morning.
I read other reviews of this one and it was very true that it is more nutty than mocha. It isn't bad but I would have liked to see a more balanced flavor of chocolate/coffee and nutty.
This tea has just the right amount of mocha/chocolate flavor to it so that it's overpowering, but not too subtle. Long after you drink it, you remember the taste and crave it. It's a great morning tea to start off your day. Definitely recommend!
Very nutty, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I actually very much enjoyed it. The nuttiness adds a lot of warmth to the tea. Almost coffee like in strength, which, still isn't a bad thing at all. It doesn't give you that caffeinated buzz coffee does. I would definitely recommend it.
My first mate tea. It smells fantastic, and brews up even better! It's a dark chocolatey tea which is perfect with some sugar and a dab of cream.
This is a good tea, best if you can blend it with something else. I do like it when I'm on my last brew for a set of black dragon pearls.
