definitely a top fave choice in tea for me. sweet midday caffeinated pick up - the aroma is fantastic as well.
Our Brazilian toasted mate with its mellow chicory notes enhanced with the indulgent flavors of chocolate and hazelnut. Contains caffeine.

definitely a top fave choice in tea for me. sweet midday caffeinated pick up - the aroma is fantastic as well.
When I want a little pick up in the morning this is my go to. A little like coffee but not so heavy. I never had Mate before and this one is delicious. The chocolate and hazelnut add nice subtle qualities that you don't expect in a tea.
Smells amazing, but the toasted taste is what comes out the most, leaving me disappointed in finding a cup I don't have to add chocolate to. However, with my dark cocoa mix added, it is AMAZING and the hazelnut flavor really came out! A unique flavor profile I had yet to try. Update: My second cup is hitting the spot so hard. I love this one. XD
I enjoyed the sample of this so much that I bought more as a gift. The mocha flavor is excellent, as is the texture of the final brew.
This is a full-bodied tea with just enough caffeine to give you a boost in the afternoon without interfering with a good night's sleep. While it has a hint of chocolate, I wouldn't say it's at all sweet. I usually add oatmilk and a touch of sugar if I want to bring out the flavor.
This is my favorite roasted mate. You can taste hazelnut and cocoa notes. I like this tea as a latte with sweetener.
This smells like tobacco in a good way. It's like sitting in front of a fireplace and getting a huge from your grandpa who smokes a tobacco pipe. I enjoyed drinking this but not nearly as much as one of my friends did. Needless to say, she went home with that bag of tea lol I do like it and the earthy flavors it brings to tea time
This tea a perfect mashup of traditional yerba mate, spicy chai vibes, and a hint of tropical fruit. it's a bold, energizing blend that'll give you the boost you need to tackle the toughest and dreariest of days. I like to eat it with stroopwaffles for a morning treat.
I can't say enough about this blend. The combination of chocolate and nut flavors is spot on.
I really enjoy this tea, especially with a splash of soy milk
This tea is one of my all time favorites and is what I have most mornings to wake me up. This tea has strong notes of chocolate and hazelnut
Completely delicious! My first maté tea. Will be getting again soon
When I initially tried this tea I wasn’t sure I truly liked it. However, after trying it a few times and stepping it for 4 - 5 minutes. It quickly became a new favorite. It doesn’t have a strong mocha flavor. It’s slightly nutty with a hint of chocolate. Just ordered another bag.
Loved it even if i didn't get it it was ok and good
Subtle woody yet smooth flavor, very enjoyable! New fav
Adore adore adore! This is what I imagined coffee tasting like as a child--the light notes of chocolate, the slight earthiness, the divine but not overwhelming sweetness! A great pick-me-up. I have yet to experience the huge burst of caffeine or mental clarity promised by the mate websites, but after one cup I was able to fearlessly sing in front of a networking group... so take that as you will. I've already ordered more.
This was my first time trying a Mate tea and I enjoyed it very much. It reminded me of my favorite tea Tiger eye with heavy chocolate notes. It is now one of my favorite teas to just sip and enjoy. It was very fragrant and I recommend it for those who enjoy chocolate teas.
This tea smells absolutely fabulous. I like to add a little steamed heavy whipping cream and a dash of hazelnut coffee syrup for a little more body to give me that hot cocoa feeling without so much extra sugar.
I just found my coffee substitute wow, the Mocha Nut Mate is so good. If you stopped drinking coffee this will work for you. The nutty and chocolate flavor is amazing.
This was purchased for an event where we were giving away tea. Everywhere we kept this tea before giving it away smelled like heaven. It went really quickly and the folks who picked it loved it.
This blend gives me decadent tea with some zing. The cute mini choco chips are a nice addition. They do get stuck in my infuser but I just soak it. I can see me using this for caffeine in the winter months or on chilly, brisk mornings.
Now this is a very nutty tea. I can most definitely taste the nut flavors, which were too overpowered by fruits in the always nuts tea. A very calming and comforting blend for at night when I need to get ready for bed and don’t need more caffeine.
Super good, hot chocolate esque without the deepness of black tea
This is one of my all time favorites! I keep reordering it. I tend to add an extra couple dark chocolate chips to my cup for happiness and joy. It’s really hard to go wrong with this one. It acts as a decent coffee replacer for me too because of the rich flavor and caffeine.
I love mate teas but this was not good at all. It tasted like burnt leaves and was not good to me at all.
The mocha really stands out in this blend. Tangy yet earthy flavor.
Not my favorite…I think mate just has way too much caffeine for me.
New favorite rainy day tea. Tiger eye used to be my favorite but now this with the nuttiness is perfect!
it's not a bad taste at all but it's a lot weaker than I was expecting in terms of both taste and caffeine hit! I will have to keep trying rebrew methods and maybe different temps. Smells amazing in the bag.
Really love this tea with a splash of milk! Very decadent! Friends enjoy adding a bit of honey or sugar for a little sweetness.
I really liked the single sample, but the bigger bag doesn't smell or taste anywhere near as strong. Probably need to mix better before scooping.
This was my first introduction to mate, and I really enjoyed it. I'm not going to lie... I have a stove top kettle and hate making tea that I can't just dump boiling water in, but I would do it again for this tea.
This was a good overall cup of tea with hints of chocolate and hazelnut. For me, i want to add sweetness and cream
I really enjoy this one but I don’t love it alone. I brewed this with a toasted Yerba mate and it added a nice touch but on its own, it was overpowering as is.
i loved this blend. it really kept me going through the workday. ita like dribking a iced mocha add a lil cream
I love Mocha Nut Mate. Typically I drink teas without adding any milk or sweeteners. I was excited to try a Yerbal Mate drink, as it is becoming a popular replacement to coffee. I love Mocha Nut Mate as a latte: 1.5 teaspoon of Mate with 8 ounces of water, 4 ounces of Oat milk and a shot of caramel syrup.
This one is my favorite...just bought a 1lb bag...hope the flavor is consistent with what I had previously
This tea was very light, yet interesting flavor and highly caffeinated. I got multiple steeps as well. It was a pleasant surprise to rock out all day on a nice workday. This one is def worth a go folks. This was good cold and hot, with or without milk and sugar. It had a great light taste of hazelnut and other notes. I def suggest picking this up. A weird one to describe indeed.
My initial review was, 'It’s a great, rich flavorino! I steeped it a second time and chilled it and it was delightful.' However, I do not like it as much anymore!
This is a great tea. Joyful flavor. In the realm of a complex coffee - only more fun.
This is one of my favorites. I brew it at 215 degrees for 5 min. I think the hotter tempter makes it stronger, and that's how I like it. It has a smooth earthy cocoa and slight nutty flavor. Love it!
Enjoyed this nutty mate very much and will be purchasing another bag
Feb. 12, 2024... Enjoyed this delicious tea again, today. It gave me lots of energy without the jitters. Even got lots done for a Monday. Always look forward to this tasty mate when it comes 'round in CT.
Mar. 5, 2021...Delicious and a real treat! This flavorful chocolate hazelnut tea was a wonderful surprise for me today. I gave myself a little pep talk before the first sip. I’ve never had a toasted mate tea before and steeled myself in case the taste took me out of my comfort zone.
All I can say is Yum! This is terrific! The mate tea base stayed pleasantly in the background to let the nutty choco taste truly shine and be enjoyed. I sipped plain and loved the flavor but thought I might be missing out on another level of deliciousness so I added some light honey. The honey sweetened nicely and elevated the flavors so I stopped there and didn’t add dairy. This cuppa was already like a slice of chocolate hazelnut heaven. I sipped with abandon and couldn’t wait to steep more.
In the next steep, the flavor was less chocolate hazelnut forward and more about the toasted mate base which had an earthy tang to it. It wasn’t unpleasant but the taste of the tea had turned a corner for me and became less of a treat and more herbal in nature. According to our tea mentor, Jim R., preparation is key. At his suggestion, I awakened the mate with cool water before pouring 160F water to attain the 150F temp required to brew for the 3-5 min. stated on the CommuniTEA packet. The resulting light brown liquor wonderfully matched the aroma of the chocolate and hazelnut scent of the dry tea which was 3 grams of brown toasty leaves with a sprinkling of marigold flowers and mini chocolate chips. It was wise to drink this in the morning, it has such a kick. The mate energy boost has lasted all day but so has the memory of drinking something ever so delicious!
This tea was very good. The dominant flavor was the hazelnut with the lighter chocolate whisper of chocolate singing its presence in the background. This tea was very well balanced.
This is a great blend. The aroma of chocolate and hazelnut is wonderful. A maltiness that's not overpowering. Chocolate is noted but Hazelnut steals the show. I enjoyed with and without honey.
This smelled nutty to me. I haven't liked the other mate blends I've tried but still gave this a chance. Still not for me, something in the taste I don't like from mate itself.
Love the nutty side of this, but I’m not a fan of mate or how it makes me feel.
In my haste today, I didn't read the directions and brewed a first cup at 212°. Brewed a second cup at 150° and tasted the difference! The flavors really came out. I'm not a mate drinker so am unfamiliar with it, but I liked the particular nut flavor of this tea. And, oh yeah, they're not kidding about the high caffeine boost! Lol
This smelled so wonderful but left a very strong, bad aftertaste. The aroma was pleasant. I have never had Mate tea before this experience. I will try other samples of it in the CommuniTea but not buy.
2.12.24 still feel the same but liked it a bit more this time. smells better than it tastes. mate is just too ash-y for me.
Not a mate person, I think. I remember liking this one before at some point? but not for me this time. I often don't love hazelnut or chocolate in tea so maybe this was just not meant to be today.
