This tea is my go to coffee alternative. I still get the slightly bitter taste of coffee. I also like it when milk is added.
Our Brazilian toasted mate with its mellow chicory notes enhanced with the indulgent flavors of chocolate and hazelnut. Contains caffeine.

High boost of energy with a smooth chocolate and nutty finish
It doesn't taste like mate. I like mate, so I was a little disappointed that it doesn't taste like mate. But, the mocha nut flavor is fun.
Really tasty ,love how it smells from the bag ,I truly enjoyed drinking this tea very much ,thank you so much
This tea is simply not for me. It is appropriately named as the primary flavors cocoa and hazelnut.
A favorite! Mate has an energy hit that feels so different from the usual 'black tea caffeine' boost-- it's calmer, and lasts longer. Excellent with a cream of your choice!
Smells chocolatey and nutty right out of the bag. Nice and light. Love the chips it adds a little fat and depth of flavor. It doesn't go too strong. You have to make a strong batch as a flavor enhancer or mix it with a more full bodied tea to get a 'proper dark roast'. I like mixing this with pumpkin spice tea.
Delicious chocolatey tea! While i prefer black tea blends, Im glad i tried this one
Did not care for as much as others but was still good. Next cup might need to drink with creamer
I like the flavor of this one, but I’ve discovered that mate gives me a headache. I’ve tried blending it with other black teas to counteract the headache with varying degrees of success. I wish I could enjoy it more fully!
Wonderfully nutty and delicious! Almost reminds me of hazelnut coffee. I enjoyed it with sweetener.
Despite being toasted mate- I agree with others that this is a very light blend. If you prefer your teas lighter like me or don't love pungent mate flavor, then you'll love this blend. In the packet, the toasted mate notes are strong followed by the ambiguous sweet mocha nutty notes. When steeped, the mate notes are very gentle with a forward gentle nutty mocha flavor. I have tried it with and without cream and sugar and I monumentally prefer it plain, it actually is not very good with cream as the flavor is significantly lessened regardless of steep time. This is a very good but delicate flavor!
Being a big fan of mocha I was at first skeptical of this tea meeting my taste requirements. It came through with flying colors! I love the additional nutty flavors they added.
Love. I mix this with some other chocolatey flavored teas, often black, and it makes a great treat for any time of day.
Mocha Nut Mate is a dessert-lover’s delight—nutty, chocolatey, roasty, and full of energy thanks to yerba mate. The dark chocolate chips melt into the cup, giving it a smooth cocoa backbone. Hazelnut adds warmth and creaminess, while the toasted mate creates a coffee-like depth without bitterness. Great for people who want a coffee alternative that still feels indulgent. It's delicious on its own but becomes next-level with a splash of cream and sugar. A cozy, energizing treat.
I love this! I originally misread the instructions and was boiling to brew but once I followed the instructions to brew at 150, the flavors really sing!
Love this tea. It has a right caffeine kick needed in the afternoon. have purchased it several times.
This one was not my favorite. It was recommended as an alternative to a coffee-flavored tea from another tea shop, but it falls quite short. I will try to drink the rest of my supply, but I am pretty disappointed. Pu-Erh Coffee is a much better blend as a coffee substitute, flavor-wise.
I’m not a fan of coffee, but I don’t find this blend unpleasant. To me the chocolate flavor was predominant, while the hazelnut and toasted mate gave the tea a slightly nutty taste. I didn’t add anything to this tea, but I bet with the addition of cream and sugar it would have nearly a hot chocolate taste. I might have to give that a try. I purchased a sample of this tea, and while I don’t think it’s one I would purchase again, I will use the rest of the sample package.
UPDATE: after having this tea several times it has grown on me. I find it calming and the low brewing temp means that I can enjoy it much more quickly without burning my mouth. I may even purchase again in the future!
I've really enjoyed Mocha Nut Mate as my first drink in the morning to get my caffeine fix. Since it's brewed at a lower temp, I'm able to fill my travel mug and drink it immediately because it's not too hot. The chocolate flavor is mild to me which I prefer in this case. Overall the flavors of the hazelnut, chocolate, and toasted Mate are well balanced, and gives me an experience that's closer to a cup of coffee than other teas. I usually drink it plain but milk and sugar work well in it too.
The hazelnut was so subtle and it was so good. I really loved it
I love a good mate, this toasted version doesn't quite hit THAT mark, but I enjoy this blend, for what it is, a nice nutty, toasty, cozy sip
This tea is good, but not for me. I don't really like the chocolate flavor to it and it overall wasn't wholly unpleasant, but I didn't finish my cup.
I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’m typically not a huge fan of mates. I may have to re-think that. The hazelnut and chocolate makes me want to gulp this down, especially after a bit of milk and sugar. I’m a fan!
So I love yerba mate. Unfortunately I loathe chicory and toasted mate tastes just like it to me. Hazelnut is also one of my top flavors that I try to avoid so this tea was never going to be good for me. I did note the chicory flavors mingling with the toasty hazelnut and for those who like those flavors I bet it was excellent. The mocha flavor was light in mine, but present. I might have finished the cup if the chocolate would have been more powerful, but as is I gave the second half of the cup to my wife (a hazelnut lover) instead. Added nothing to cup. 150° 7 min
Heavy on the hazelnut, with just a hint of chocolate. Nutty, toasty, and warming.
CommuiTEA sample: 3 min @ 165, second cup for 5 min @ 150. I had four chocolate chips in my packet, that was exciting! That being said, it still smelled strongly of hazelnut, and it reminds me a lot of hazelnut coffee. It's not bad, but I'm not a huge fan of the hazelnut flavoring adagio uses. I'm sure that this is great if you like that! I am probably in the minority that would rather taste the mate by itself.
This brew had a planty, earthy, and chocolatey flavor. This was pretty good, particularly for those who enjoy yerba mate.
While I couldn't taste any chocolate in this tea, the hazelnutty flavor was quite nice.
I was surprised how much I liked this, as I usually don't like mate teas! It had an excellent nutty flavor. I carefully followed the steeping directions and steeped at 155 for 3 minutes. I think the low steeping temperature may have made the difference for me.
This is a good tea I love the chocolate flavor and the down right sweet taste of this is to die for if you like sweet chocolate this is for you.
Great tea love the flavor and got the tea bags this time
i had gotten a smaller package of this tea, and liked it. now that i'm not able to drink coffee, i added this to the rotation of caffeine teas that keep me awake. it's got a very rich nutty flavor that is great just as it is.
and it doesn't make me jittery
update: bought another pound of this, it's very good hot
I really like this blend. Tasted like a chocolate mocha coffee. Definitely a good cup to have in the morning with the higher caffeine. I would purchase this blend again and look forward to trying other blends from this website.
Smooth, rich, and nutty. I imagine this is what coffee is like to coffee drinkers. It’s quickly become one of my new favorites.
I love a mate that has a bit of additional flavor that supports the base! Good for the start of the day too!
I was not a big fan of this one but that may just be because I am more of a green tea, black tea, and fruity tea kind of person. It says steep at 150° but I think I may have done a little over that. The flavors are good especially the chocolate taste, but it just wasn’t for me!
Was enjoyed. Definitely liked it more when sweetened as it was a bit bitter otherwise. Was a nice tea
Very subtle coffee like flavor in this tea. Not a bad tea at all.
This one was just okay. Not a favorite honestly but maybe I just don’t like mate.
I couldn’t figure out how I felt about this one. I like the smell, but not the taste. I’ve come to realize that mate might not be my thing.
Pretty good I would purchase again. Pretty hard to go wrong
I am not coffee lover having this mate feels like coffee so impress with all the flavors. Will be ordering again soon.
Amazing chocolate aroma. Very nice and subtle flavors. One of my favorite herbal teas that is a must try!
I was hooked on Javana for years. This has a great smooth flavor, and it gives me my morning caffeine boost. Now I am hooked on Mocha Nut Mate. I do add some of the Toasted Mate, because I want more caffeine for my morning tea. This is a great tea for your morning.
Magnificent, chocolatey, creamy. It's everything it promises and more. It has replaced my morning coffee as my go to beverage of choice. As my first experience with Mate, I can only hope other variants live up to the standard this one has set!
Warm and nutty, with a well rounded flavor. No discernible aftertaste.
My favorite flavor I've tried from here!!! It's amazing, I recommend this one 1000%
Love this one, smooth and nutty with a hint of mocha. Perfect warm up cup!
I accidentally bought this after finding out I was allergic to it. My mom liked it though 😂
