The flavor is decent, the only thing is that you can barely taste the mocha flavor. The overall flavor is very subtle.
I tend to drink alot if iced tea in the summer, then I'm back to Espresso in the Fall/winter. I can see myself including this as well.
This is my husbands favorite 'Coffee-substitute-tea'... he loves this!
I don't get any mocha flavor from this. To me it has a light hazelnut aroma and and slightly nutty taste with a very subtle herbal/vegetal undertone. I prefer it brewed with steamed milk as a latte for a caffeine boost in the morning. I wouldn't buy a large bag of it, but may pick up sample size occasionally.
A great nutty mate with a hint of chocolate and mocha, soothing dessert tea
I had a sample before long ago,... and finally decided to get a bigger portion of it. I love the nutty taste, as well as the mocha taste. It s very hydrating and energizing, I get extremely dehydrated when the humidity is low and it s hard for me to recover and not be so fatigued, so I drink Yerba Mate and I love this flavor!!!
Not for me. I guess I don't think chocolate makes a good tea.
I love this. I'm a sucker for flavored coffees and their delicious smell. This has that. We're able to steep one pot 2-3 times, although the first one is the only time the strong chocolate taste comes through.
I got this as a gift for someone who generally enjoys sweet teas and coffee. She made a blend with a Honeybush Hazelnut and claims she doesn't drink any other type of tea!
This tea is delicious!! Even nuttier than the nutcracker, which is currently my favorite tea. If caffeine weren't an issue for me I would drink it every day.

This taste awesome! The caramel and dark aroma are great and you can taste the molasses! That’s what I love about these teas. They not only smell like it says you can taste it too!
LOVELOVELOVE!!! It is the Teavana Mate Vana replacement I’ve been looking for. The first visual impression is deceiving. A visual comparison show that this is a lighter, finer cut tea, but all the ingredients are there. The smell is dead on, and brews up wonderfully! I did not follow Adgio’s brewing instructions though (1tsp/cup,150° for 3-5min). I used Teavana’s brewing instructions (1.5-2tsp/cup, 205°F for 5 min).
I sent this as a gift- this was her favorite of all the mate samplers I sent.
I enjoyed this tea. Reminds me of Matevana from Teavana.
When I opened the bag, I got really excited. It smelled just like Matevana from Teavana, which I loved. It tasted just as good as it smelled, though I found that the recommended 150* steep was maybe just a bit too low. I have yet to make it again, but next time I will try 175*.
The nutty flavor is nice. I have also found this one is forgiving if you leave it steep a little too long.
I've really enjoyed this tea for the most part; however I've found that it tends to be a bit weak for my tastes if you don't use a little extra. I love the subtle chocolate/nut taste though; a great after-dinner dessert tea!
Not my favorite, it had a very dark bitter taste even though the aroma was sweet.

I was looking for a replacement for the Teavana Javavana Mate and this was pretty close! If you mix with the Hazelnut tea, it's a great combo.

I know there are some negative reviews on this blend, citing some of the other yerba mates as better candidates. However, this is one of my favorite mates. It reminds me of a nutty coffee-type drink and is awesome for morning commutes, or just waking up in general.

Still my most favorite tea! I luckily found this after the loss of my Teavana 'My Favorite Mate'. Dare I say, I like this brew better! Great strong flavor of mate, nuttiness, and a hint of chocolate. Good caffeine boost to start my day. A bit addicted to to my 20 oz. each morn!

Maybe I am just not used to Mate teas.. this one smells EXCELLENT but doesnt taste as good. Unless you are familiar with Mate tea, I wouldnt recommend this one as an intro to Mate.
If this tea gets spilt, tears will be shed. It is a favorite of my husband’s and he can only describe it as chocolate meets nuts. He loves it and rarely drinks other flavors.
I can definitely say that this tea doesn’t have a bad flavor...just not much flavor. I’m confused how others are talking about the flavors when I just get a flavor of warm water with a little something that I can’t even identify. Maybe it’s slight nutty?
I actually added this to a pot of coffee and brewed very tasty. Excellent hot as well. Nice nutty flavor not overpowering just perfect.

I was introduced to mate through Adagio Teas when I placed my previous order and got the Toasted Mate, and I liked it enough that I wanted to give the Mocha Nut Mate a try too. It has a bold, earthy (almost smoky/roasted) flavor from the mate itself, you can definitely taste the hazelnut and the dark chocolate bits I think add an extra level of depth to the flavor. To be honest, I'm not sure yet if I like it based on just one cup, but I think mate is also a bit of an acquired taste. It doesn't quite taste like any other kind of tea, but it doesn't taste like coffee either (I know it's been touted as a coffee substitute). It's just a whole other flavor and while I'm personally still on the fence about how much I like this tea, I would still recommend it to long-time tea fans and those new to loose leaf tea alike.
Much like the Toasted Mate, my only real complaint is trying to keep this tea in my infuser! It's so fine that a lot of it falls out into the tea itself, so if you get any mate, hopefully you're okay with little floaty bits in your tea.
I'd prefer a bit more of a mocha flavor but this tea was still very yummy!

I have this every morning as a replacement to coffee. It tastes smooth and slightly sweet. Really good if you put a bit of cream in! Just enough caffeine to get me through the morning.

As I normally find regular mate too strong and bitter, this hits the right balance and the chocolate flavour is apparent. Just be careful not to oversteep.
