I enjoy Key Lime Herbal. Like it both hot and cold!

3 min steep · 212°F

★★★★☆

Despite me very clearly seeing all of the fruit pieces, this blend brews up to have an awkward, artificial flavor that definitely does not give what it could.

★★★★★

This is surprisingly good. I only tried it as an iced tea but with a small amount of sweetener it’s quite tasty.

★★★★☆

Not a favorite that I'll will be buying in 1lb bags, but a nice change of pace.

Overall, smells better/stronger than it tastes but tastes fine.

★★★★★

Key lime pie is my favorite dessert, and this really tastes like it. I was quite pleasantly surprised.

This tea is VERY strong on the hibiscus flavor, but really light on the lime. If it was a little more balanced, it would be absolutely delicious.

This one is a very enjoyable herbal blend. I ordered a sample after trying the portion pack as part of CT. In this instance, it isn't quite as wonderful as I remembered it, however, still very enjoyable with that hint of lime Jello flavor that first attracted me to it. I was one of those kids that always wanted to drink the jello as soon as it cooled.

Not my thing. Very acidic, so if you like zinger teas this might be up your alley.

The lime here is very artificial, reminiscent of Jell-O, and in my opinion it makes for a weird combination with the tart hibiscus.

Key lime flavor was good, but there was a weird spice flavor that threw off the taste.

It was good but not one of my favorites. I’m glad I tried it. It had a light lime flavor and I added a little bit of honey

★★★★★

I'm not a key lime fan, but the other people in my house are. I tried a sip, just to see, and it was really good! My other family members loved it too

This is a wonderful summer time tea - I prefer it cold. It is very very refreshing and the flavors all come through freshly.

★★☆☆☆

The smell of the tea reminded me of key lime pie. I really wanted to like this tea, but it didn't matter if it was hot or cold once brewed it was not for me.

★★★★★

This is one of my favorite teas. I always have some on hand. It smells wonderful, and has a nice color. I add a bit of rock sugar while steeping, and it's heaven in a cup.

★★★★★

A delicious dessert tea pairs very well with fruit based drinks and desserts

★★★☆☆

This was not my favorite I was hoping it would be more tart. My husband loved it though

3 min steep · 212°F

★★★★★

It's odd that it's pink but it definitely tastes and smells like lime. Definitely will repurchase.

Remember that trip to Key West and the amazing pie you had? Well, you don’t have to leave your house to have the aroma. I added a tad of sweetener. The lime flavor is very subtle at first sip, but slowly explodes on your tongue after you swallow it. Hard not to gulp it it down as it was so good-lol

My brain cannot process the strong red color and the key lime flavor.

Update: I think I like this better cold brewed with no sweetener added!
Previous review: I enjoyed this tea better iced than warm. I steeped at 212 degrees for 4 minutes and added some sugar. The hot/warm tea did have a kool-aid taste to it, but once I had chilled it and poured it over ice it was delicious!

Beautiful red colored tea. Hibiscus adds tartness that lends to the key lime flavor. I added honey.

I couldn't really tell that this had lime flavor. It wasn't a bad flavor, just not exactly lime to me. It was like sweetened fruit. Still good though.

I agree with the other reviewers that the scent didn’t match the taste, but I still enjoyed this tea. When I opened the packet, the dry tea smelled just like creamy key lime pie. However, after steeping, the hibiscus and/or rose hips overpowered any key lime scent or flavor. It’s still a nice tart herbal tea, I just wouldn’t say it tastes like key lime.

June 21st 2023 ~ 5🌟's I have grown to really love this! I initally wasn't wild for this blend, last year..But now I love it and find it flavorful and great! Maybe because I cold brewed this, this time instead of Hot Brew and Icing it...I just got to enjoy the flavor profile differently & I like it more. Maybe the Hot brew made it too tart! Or...maybe my CT packet was lacking, last year. Anyway,...Happy Summer Sipping Tea Fam!

Today's CommuniTEA is Key Lime Time! I do like this..But I could do with more upfront LIME flavor. I brewed for 10 mins at 212° and then iced. I thought the color would be a yellow-y green..(Just subconsciously)..But with the florals, of course it was pinkish-reddish. Overall I do enjoy this...but not in a top five of fav summer-y blend herbals.

I really liked this. I found it tangy rather than too tart. I definitely preferred it iced.

I love Key Lime pie and I’m so glad I tried this tea! The lime flavor is light and refreshing. When I want a real zing I add slices of fresh lemon or lime while it steeps and it really brings out the tartness. Very smooth tea. Lovely presentation with a wonderful citrus scent and beautiful color.
7/3/2022 - One of my favorite herbals from Adagio. I love this hot...and cold brewed. Lovely tart taste! Refreshing!
6/21/2023 - Comin' around again! Love, love, love this tea! :) Hot or cold. yummy! :)

I like this tea but find it to be a little bit too tart. I like to mix this with the coconut iced tea.

★★★★★

Really enjoyed this blend—It tasted exactly like what I thought a key lime tea blend would taste like.
I got a free sample earlier this year and am thinking of trying it as an iced tea~

Nice and tart but plenty of key lime taste. Liking this one more than I thought. There is a pleasant creaminess to it.

Update 6-21-23: I loved this tea today! I prepared it a different way than the last time I tried it in the CT. Instead of brewing the traditional way with hot water I flash-cold brewed the tea in a tea bag covered with ice and some water for about 30 minutes. This time more of the key lime came out and less of the 'tart twos', hibiscus and rose hips, making this a delicious summer treat. I didn't add sweetener this time. Sweetener would make it taste even more like a pie though. I might add sweetener later in the day. My original review gave key lime herbal 3 stars, but I'm changing this blend to 5 stars after today. In my opinion, preparing flash-cold brewed under ice is KEY to this key lime pie tea.

Original review 7-2-2022: The key lime flavor I could taste would have been delicious... However, all I tasted was unsweetened lime snowcone with an aftertaste of potpourri. I think the hibiscus and rose hips (the terrible two's) is what turned this into potpourri in a cup. This tea was a beautiful color, but I think It would be a better tea without adding the hibiscus and rose hips in order to get that color. In my opinion, having key lime pie flavored apples would be a better tea infusion than having 'the tart two' added into this blend. I don't like to leave reviews less than 5 stars (this is my first ever), but I just couldn't enjoy this one as much as I would've loved to enjoy it. It was over 100 degrees here and I had this in my to-go tumbler to have to drink for the entire day. It did keep me hydrated. 5 min @205-ICED

I think this tea would be infinitely better iced, but that being said, this tea was still really delicious! The flavor of lime comes bursting through and while I agree with another user that the inclusion of hibiscus makes it border on TOO tart, I was impressed with the creamy aftertaste, like a real key lime pie.

I’m really up in the air about this one. First that overwhelming tartness makes me want to dump it and then there’s that creamy lime aftertaste that makes you want to try another sip. I think I must be overly sensitive to rose hips and hibiscus as they spoil my enjoyment of too many teas that I think I’d like otherwise.

Seeped 7 minutes at 200 degrees. Key lime flavor came through nicely and I didn’t need to add any sweetener. Also was good cold brewed. Update: I made cold brewed with some rock sugar today, delicious!

I love Key lime pie, and I don’t get to eat it anymore since I can’t have gluten or dairy. So I had high expectations for this tea to fill that void in my life. Alas, there’s just SO much hibiscus it overwhelms everything when hot steeping. I finally tried a cold steep overnight and it’s MUCH better but there’s still a bit too much hibiscus. I wish they could tone that down or find another way to get that tartness so it tasted more like dessert and less like sucking on a lime. 🥴

There are good lime teas out there, but this is not one of them. Two flavor profiles that do not belong in the same cup - hibiscus and lime! What were they thinking? Maybe it's better over ice, but I could not get past the warm taste of icky green jello. I really don't like to waste tea, but this circled the drain. Too sour for my taste buds.

Initially I tried this last year when my stepdaughter bought a sample. It took us forever to get through that sample (and I ended up blending most of it) because of how overpowering tart it was. It was extremely strong smelling too, like lime scented cleaning solution. However, I have learned a lot about teas since then and have had it twice more as communitea packets, and I will say that while it's still not one of my favorites, I don't actively hate it like I once did. I won't, however, steep it above 190 degrees. For me, anything above that is unbearably tart and acidic-almost unpalatably so. At lower temps it's nice if you enjoy hot, tart, citrus. I have not tried it cold, but I may get a sample specifically to do so, who knows, that may help me to fall in love!

In the bag: An even mix of all advertised ingredients.

On the nose (pre-steep): Key lime pie with a hint of rose. No sour notes yet. A hint of sugar.

On the nose (post-steep): Key lime, rose, and an accent of hibiscus. Still slightly sweet. Not tart yet.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Hibiscus is strong and clear, but thankfully only slightly tart. Key lime and rose have been lost.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): Sweetener brings the rose back a touch. It also helps counter the sour notes.

Opinion: Not a fan. The key lime smelled great on the nose, but as with so many hibiscus blends, the sharp, sour flavors down out everything else on the tongue.

Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 212 ℉. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener. I hoped the shorter steep would reduce the tartness.

I really wanted to love this tea, as key lime anything sounds mouth watering. The lime tasted a bit artificial, and I mistakenly tried to add cream and it separated badly. I would try this again as an iced tea just plain with no additives.

A nice cup to relax with my book this early morning, there is just enough lime flavor, slightly tart but not sour. Would definitely enjoy again!

Ok, first I must preface this by saying, I prefer the Persian Limes to the Key Limes. I have never enjoyed Key Lime Pie. I do like lemon-lime aid, lime in my tea, and lime with my sushi, and tacos! But again, not the Key Limes - I prefer their more lemony flavored cousins.

Hot, this tasted too much like warm key limes. Not a flavor I associate with yumminess. So, of course, like the song - put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up - so I added a touch of my coconut cream to the blend while hot. ITS dairy free! Why did it still curdle? Oh boy. Ok, so that wasn't brilliant, but the flavor is more drinkable for me - after scooping away the top layer of cream curd. I'm hoping that the flavor is better cold. For most of Adagio's tisanes, I've enjoyed them much moreso cold, so there is still hope for this one yet. I won't drink it again hot - im struggling to finish 4 oz. No longer struggling - dumping instead. As it cools, the weird Key Lime flavor gets more intense - coconut is not helping. I would need way more sugar than even I'm comfortable with to try drinking this. Just. Say. No.

Cold, no improvement. I won't even blend with this, unless someone specifically requests it for a Friends' Blend.

Tea was nice hot but even better poured over ice. I like the citrus tartness. I added a little sweetener and it was very nice.

Perfect for when you might want a wee splash of key lime. The flavor is not overwhelming.

*Update* I've changed my mind about this tea. I find it quite pleasant iced now, light and refreshing.

★★★☆☆

The lime flavor is pretty good, but it lacks the smooth creaminess that I would want from a key lime pie-flavored beverage. Perhaps it will be better iced. CAVEAT: do not add cream. There is enough citrus here that it curdles.

I love this tea! Tart, just like I wanted it to be. Tastes great hot or iced. It's only available to purchase in the summer, but I'd drink this tea year round.

★★★★★

Tried it hot first, wasn’t all that impressed. It had a nice flavor but wasn’t anything special. Tried cold brewing it. Wow what a difference! Great lime flavor! Made it a bit strong and served it iced. This is a keeper for iced tea!

★★★★★

I love the sharp tangy flavor of this tea.
Key lime is one of my favorite flavors so I'm quite happy to have found a tea with a flavor that somewhat resembles it.

I am making iced tea out of it, which is very yummy. It doesn't taste exactly like Key Lime pie, but it has enough yumminess to remind me of one.
